I'm with you on this one. Give him a few days to assemble the right team and get the gadgetry together and we're onto a winner.
No, stop it now.

Batman has had MONTHS and YEARS of prep time to fight Superman with, who has THREE massive gaping weaknesses and still has never beaten him. (This is the point where everyone brings up TDKR only to be shot down when they realise it wasn't canon)

Are we talking physical strength or something else? If the former, I'd go with Superman but then again his powers have always been altered every time DC hit the reset button.

If we're going with not just physical strength, I'm going with Hellboy, and I'll say he's just as strong as Superman. Why? He has the power to destroy the universe and set worlds ablaze, but has the strength of will to resist such an awesome power.

Superman is so powerful he's almost boring to watch. I wonder what will the reboot look like.
He'll be fighting one of the many villains that are just as strong, if not stronger than he is.

That's right, it's going to be Superman Vs. Stephen Fry!

Raw strength? Colossus as the Juggernaut, hands down. The original Juggernaut was already equal to the Hulk. With Colossus, he was given a larger share of the cytorrak energy when the old god realized heroes cause more destruction than villains ever will. This power mutated him into a spiky rage beast that stomped Red Hulk pretty handily. For cosmic power, Wanda Maximoff. She can will things out of existence, be it mutants, former teammates, or the Phoenix.

If you mean physical strength That would be (marvel's) Gladiator, though more of a villain, he was able to push a planet out of it's orbit. Or something like that

that is without getting into bullshit cosmic entities like Galactus or Mogo

Depends on your Universe.

Eternity would be Marvels (Thanos if you're not talking anthropomorphic entities, Hulk if you're talking mortals), DC would have Death / Doomsday / Swamp Thing.

City of Heroes would be Statesman, Dark Horse would be Hellboy, Darkstalkers would be Jeddah, Champions would be Doctor Destroyer, Watchmen would be Doc Manhattan...

If it's a battle of all the heroes from every universe though - it's gotta be Mr. Rogers.

Eternity is the reverse of Death btw.
He said Superheroes. Eternity is not a superhero, it is the Immortal embodiment of the universe.

OT: while a fan of both DC and Marvel I know more about Marvel so I think the most powerfull superhero is The Sentry. I remember him being beyond powerfull. I also think he is dead so not sure if he still counts.

Other than him I would guess whoever has the Phoenix Force would make that list but now one has it right now as well as Doctor Strange as he is considered by Eternity to be the most powerfull human being alive as well as having power at the same level as Cosmic entities.

But i would all so like to know who is your favorite superhero and if you think they desirve to be #1.
Wow, this many posts on the thread and no-one's brought up the Pre-Crisis Specter?
He was the culmination of the three-issue series in DC Comics Presents that was all about "Superman's weakness is hubris",and just to make it obvious we're gonna have this guy repeatedly hand Supes his @&& until Supes realizes
that what he really needs to do is ask for this guy's help."

Also, in Crisis on Infinite Earths....YIKES!!

As for my favorite hero....hmmm...yup, gotta be Ranch Man from Yotsuba&!
She has the adorableness to implode a bazillion universes!

Right? And even if he loses he's still going to be the best shot anyone's gonna make.

Of course I am biased. Not Batman biased, but I always perferred Non-powered "normie" humans over anything fantastical.

To the people saying Dr. Manhattan. I don't agree. Yes he's powerful. He's a demi-god. But that is all he is. He's so removed from reality by being almost above it, that I just can't see him as the most powerful superhero. Plus, when you step into being a demi-god, you step out of super heroism in my opinion.

I personally think superman is. Why? Because he was specifically designed to be. He was designed not to just be the perfect superhero, but also the perfect man. Both physically and mentally.

Probably the Ultramen, because their typical villains are monsters the size of Godzilla or bigger and there are a lot of the fuckers.

I actually think it's either Dr. Manhattan or the Sentry. Manhattan for reasons already listed in the thread. The Sentry because he's actually been stated more then once to be the strongest character in the entire Marvel Universe. Add in the fact that he's also pretty much Superman (but crazier) and you can probably see my reasoning.

I'm simply voicing an opinion. This is not simply about physical strength, this is about a whole heap of possible ideas and I believe, given the array of heroes available that batman is strongest, simply because he isn't suppose to be strong compared to the people around him. He is human, and he is flawed in a universe of superpowered aliens and whatever, but he does his best to compensate for his flaws and keep going.

I'm not a fanboy...I'm not even a boy actually, but this is a silly thread about silly things, and you specifying exactly why I'm wrong shows up who exactly is the fanboy here.

When you say strongest, do you mean raw brute strength alone? Or "Who would win a fight against literally anyone"?

If it's the latter then the answer is "Everyone who is invincible". I'm sure that includes more people than Superman but if someone is indestructible then it really doesn't matter who they're against. They simply cannot lose. It's only a matter of time before the other person does. Pit two invincibles against each other and it becomes "Can either of them negate the others invincibility?" "Can (someone unbeatable) obtain Kryptonite to kill Superman?"

So the question is, who is completely invincible?

That contradicts what you previously said, that with enough gadgets and prep time he can beat anybody, which is obviously false.

If I wanted to argue about Batman's willpower or his relevance in a super powered world, I would have replied to someone actually talking about that.

If that's a literal question, then Juggernaut [http://marvel.wikia.com/Cain_Marko_%28Earth-616%29].

If you mean absolutely unbeatable, then The One Above All [http://marvel.wikia.com/One-Above-All_%28Multiverse%29], The Man Of Miracles [http://imagecomics.wikia.com/wiki/Man_of_Miracles] and The Presence [http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Presence_%28New_Earth%29].

In terms of physical strength, the Hulk. He was confirmed to have unlimited strength by The One Above All.

Why do you people assume Dr. Manhattan is some god among superheroes? He's just a weaker version of Captain Atom, who in himself is no where near RKT or Superman Prime One Million.
