If you abuse the legal system to steal my luggage, I will certainly abuse it to steal your money.

Before we play this game, please consider who has more to lose here.

Oh wait. Yeah. If you're not rich you can't get justice. So I guess me. Well darn. I guess its back to ol' mad gunman thing, then.

Wow why doesn't he just buy a new one?
Im glad you think theft and corporate abuse is perfectly fine. So if I walk into your house and unplug your computer and take it, don't bother calling the police, because by your own logic you should just go buy a new one.

I think that $1,000,000 is a great max number to set because then hes garunteed an amount that actually means something from the inevitable settlement. So a reasonable $20,000 settlement (Or free air travel for life) seems fair to me. Afterall if you steal as a private citizen and get caught, you not only give the items back but are then sentenced to some form of imprisonment (usually). Its only right that the airline should have to suffer some form of consquence for their lack of responsibility and especially for their lack of caring in the matter.

Also it is amazing the freedoms that airlines have in taking personal property under the guise of "confiscating potentially hazardous items". Lookup the amount and types of items they can take and never return. It's mind boggling.
Well my opinion is more formed on what I would do. I having a very well paying job would just purchase a new 360.

I find it very hard to believe that you would just simply shrug off the insult and injustice of having the airline steal something from you, and then make every attempt NOT to help you, before simply going and paying for the same item again. Especially considering the cost of what was stolen was probably greater than the cost of the airline ticket you paid for.

So the fact that someone physically went through your luggage and stole your stuff would have no bearing here. This wouldn't, y'know, bother you at all.

Holy shit. That's fucking remarkable.
Well I'm the kind of guy who thinks to himself "Shit happens" nothing in life will be there forever so fuck it.
Also I'd research the people I'm flying with first.

Well believe it.
As I said above I'd research the people who were caring for my luggage, secondly I would NEVER bring along my PS3 or 360 on a trip. I can deal without the system or movies for however long I'm gone.

Ah but see, whether or not you would bring it along or not isn't the point. The point is that you say you would not be outraged by having your personal property stolen by what amounts to a private service, and then having those same people try as hard as they can to not help you.

If you seriously wouldn't care then you have some SERIOUS ability to let things go, and can I get you home address please? I could use some new furnishings for my place :p

PWND.

Seriously get a new one, it's not gunna cost you a million bucks on Ebay or Craigslist. This guy is a noob at life.
Or he just doesn't have some rich ass parents who buy him all the console or just isn't some stupid kiddy with money up the arse from his grandparents...

EDIT: Stop beeing so friendly to the Company, the are making billions per year and if they lose 1 million won't hurt them. Also, please don't come with things like "justice". Big companies are the most just-less "things" in the world.
To both of your points.
1. Must be.
2. This is true. These companies do not deserve the money, BUT neither does this kid.

Yes, while it's partly one of those 'sue to see how much I can get away with' things, its also a case of this is one of many things that goes missing, and a way of pushing the airline to be tighter with their security.

Also, again, I'm not saying he was worth a million, but, if he's lost say a dozen save games of 50 hours, he's lost that time investment.

I'd be kinda gutted if I had one, lost it with all my saves on and they said, here's £100, go buy a second hand one and quit bothering us, we don't want to know.

If he wins US airlines will have to at least re-think their policies and security procedures. If they pull this crap enough and get sued enough other companies will notice. I say sue the hell out of them. He will never get $1,000,000 for a whole host of reasons but US airlines deserves to get slapped hard for this.
