Stupidest Complaint 2011

A few days ago, I heard someone who was about 13 or 14 say "Why would people learn Spanish, no one speaks it anyways" after which I listed off every country that speaks Spanish I could think of, and he still said there was no point learning Spanish, and about 5 minutes later said "Everyone in the world should have to speak English, and then I told him about the literacy rate of countries in which primary languege is English compared to some countries where English isn't their primary languege, and he still wouldn't say he was wrong. How he ever got to 8th grade is beyond my comprehension.

my friend said that Ocarina of time is the best game ever and then i said its a matter of opinion but he said that it is a matter of opinion exept for ocarina of time because its the best game ever.
seariously sometimes i want to punch him SO hard.

Now replace Ocarina of Time with Metal Gear Solid, and thats one of my work buddies, either that or FF7. Since he said no games were better than those. (He even stipulated for FF7 at the time, to which I countered with Fallout as well as D&D for better RPG's than FF7) Also have just been told by/reminded by my friend that ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING thats not those two games is "DERP" and nothing else, even Ocarina of Time fails in comparison to those games

P.S. He has also said that he is "gay for metal gear", so yeah...

Anyone who complains about graphics or realism needs to be hit on the head with something big, heavy and blunt.

Unless the realism in question in about a simulation game, like a proper flight sim, or a military simulation.

I just been reading the Dragon Age 2 "homosexual" thing (http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/304/index/6661775&lf=8), which seems pretty retarded.

The gist of it is some kid thinks that by including bi/homosexual flirtation in the game, Bioware are neglecting their core audience, straight white guys.

The bit that really gets me is when he claims that over 90% of Dragon Age/RPG players are straight white males. Hmmm.... someone doesn't leave the bedroom much, do they?

The guy presented his point quite civil. There's absolutely no reason to pick on him.

I'm not picking on him, at least not for his civility. A stupid point made well doesn't make it any less stupid, as the response to the point rightly said. To say that straight white males are being neglected is stupid. To argue that there need to be a way of "turning off the homosexuality" is bigoted. And stupid. To claim that 80% of of RPG players are straight white males is stupid, alongside any statistical claim that's not backed by statistics.

I respect his decency to write this in a civil and legible way, but it doesn't change the stupidity of the content

As has been said, people complaining about the lack of "realism" in games not even trying to be realistic. If I'm storming the beach on D-Day in [insert WWII title]], and suddenly Hitler shows up and clears the beach with a giant robot spider firing lasers, then you can complain. If you complain about a lack of realism in Halo/Doom/Mass Effect/Kirby, then you need to get your head examined.

I may have to steal your Hitler idea if I ever do make a movie On the original topic, I dont know actually. Most of my friends dont really complain too much about games.

...Actually, I'd play that. Giant robot nazi spiders would be a great game... My most irritating complaint would have to be from TF2. It was some guy who only played scout, and throughout the setup, was telling everyone that all they should be doing is covering him, so he could grab the intel (CP round btw, so he already clarified himself as stupid) and when he died, he began screaming into the mic that we were all assholes that couldn't do anything right, and then he switched teams, until just before they lost, at which point he tried to switch back, but the teams were already balanced by that point, so he joins spectator, and tries to pretend he'd just been watching the whole round.

If you don't know what game you're playing, don't try to boast. Just don't.

The dumbest complaint i've heard anyone say? Hmm...Playing SSBB with my friend who is playing Sonic, with smash balls on, he says "Oh my god Lucario's final smash is so cheap, this is the fourth time you've got me!"

He gets a single smash ball and wins the game, killing me 3 times in a single go >.>

i had a coworker who never heard of anything. i'd mention something in the news, say, libya or charlie sheen or inception or whatever, and he'd say "no idea, never heard about it. i don't have cable." best part is, i work at a retailer where we literally have hundreds of magazines, dozens covering all these subjects, not to mention video games, movies, music etc. there's copies of the new york times in plain sight to all customers, yet this guy apparently knows nothing about anything cause he doesn't have cable television?

How is this a complaint now again?

OT: A friend of mine wouldn't use a controller because I had a peice of tape on it (It's there so that I can' distinguish it from other controllers).

He said it was too unsymmetrical.

it's stupid for me to complain about people being willfully ignorant :C

Okay, this one I actually heard late last year, and it wasn't from me, but it was extremely stupid.

"Inception was dumb because I didn't understand it."

I heard that a lot, along with "Inception was sick, but I really didn't understand it."

Two years ago, I heard:

I got my friend into Portal and he said it's stupid. When I asked him why he thought it was stupid, he said it just was. When I pressed on he said that it's stupid because it's confusing.
