I got in trouble for telling this kid to shut up after he said i couldn't speak English after that the teacher took me outside and told me i wouldn't survive in high school and he then said i have low self esteem and then sent me to the principles office

That easily was the worst school day in my life

I'm not allowed to stay at school (which is a boarding school) any more because I missed breakfast several times. Apparently I was disrupting the routine of the house. I have to go down for each individual exam and only stay the night if the exam is first thing in the morning.

Fortunately, I've finished the exams now though and I only have to go back one more time.

---------

This thread makes me wish I could just go into each of these situations and tell the teacher in question just what I think of their decision.

in 9th grade I was snapped at by my history teacher for correcting her repeatedly during a unit about Japan.
no real trouble, but she gave me her lesson plans for the rest of the unit and made me go through and correct the inaccuracies.

When I was graduating from year 12, my mother made me give my teachers a 'thank you' gift in the form of a donation to OXFAM in their name.
And when you make a donation to OXFAM, you get a picture of what you chose to donate.
Most of them was an animal like a goat or a chicken.

For one teacher, I sponsored an AID's prevention program in Africa....The card came with a picture of a condomn....gave it to my teacher

Got called back into school (two weeks after I'd graduated) by the principle saying that the teacher was greatly offended by the card and demanded an apology.
Not sure if that counts as they couldn't actually give me detention

At lunch break a lower year kicked an apple and it hit my shoe, one of the weird lunch break people that keep an eye on us saw the lower year kick the apple but blamed me for it and demanded that I pick it up and throw it away. I told her to shove it, shortly after a deputy principle put me on report. *****.

I got detention (and threatened with a lot more) for refusing to attend chapel, a Jewish kid didn't have to go and I pointed out I was an atheist so it was stupid that I did, they got pissy, I fought back and it escalated pretty quickly.
Considering he was a very nice man (the reverend I had the argument with) in general it kinda shocked me at the time he was being so aggressive and cruel. He outright called me a liar (despite being the most honest goody two shoes in the world at the time) and threatened me with expulsion. I mean really...

That said he also lost his rag once over The Da Vinci Code. Looking back I get the feeling the nice face he presented was a pretty thin veneer to an ugly inside.

Once in in 5th grade I was playing tag with other kids during recess when I tripped on a rock and fell on the person I was chasing. I got moved to a different class for the rest of the year for "Sexual harassment," and yes, it was a guy I fell on.

I got 100 lines because of the Sun. Not the paper, that big orb in the sky. We were all lined up ready to go in for afternoon lessons and I was squinting (as people do when it's bright) but the teacher must've thought I was giving her the evil eye or something so I got lines. I don't think she even articulated WHY I was getting the lines... so that's just my guess but I was a model student as a kid and I cried for about ten minutes because I'd got lines :p (I was about 8 lol)

One of my eyes has a weak muscle (had two eye surgeries to fix it because I was close to going blind). People might call this lazy eye but it was quite a lot more severe than that. Anyway the teacher thought I was rolling my eyes to her once when it was cause my eye muscle was giving out causing it to not focus.

I got in trouble for crossing my legs a lot. I'm tg and I grew up in Texas, ugh. So I got a lot of grief and got in trouble for doing anything considered stereotypically feminine. No detentions for this, but had teachers mumble not so nice things about me.

In grade school, I had teachers single me out for not saying the pledge mainly due to one line that I disagreed with. I did stand for it, but the fact that I didn't recite it infuriated the teachers.

The school RO pulled me out of class one day and accused me of stealing a girls binder. I adamantly defended my innocence with facts (such as I had not even been in the part of the school that the RO said the binder was stolen from. . . the lunch room.) He laughed at me and said "You are still trying to convince me that you haven't stolen anything but we're here to find out where you put what you've stolen." The principal, an elderly fellow, chuckled and said "He's got the same *colored* jacket, same *colored* shoes, and same *colored* shirt. And we've got you on camera."

Well they send me back in to class and I leave early for a dental appointment. I tell my mom about this and she turns around, goes to the school, and demands to meet with both of them. She asks if the school camera's record in color. They did not, apparently. I am no longer allowed to be questioned without a guardian present.

In 7th grade, I was standing around before the school opened their doors, and 2 kids started shoving people into each other. A couple more joined in, and the principal came along, spread out her arms, and escorted everyone within her arm span to her office. All of us got detention. For getting pushed.

Grade 6. I had a teacher, and to this day I hope to meet her again so I can yell at her, who taught us conversion, and she said that one decametre equalled 100m. Now since I had come from a country where conversion was taught to us in grade 1, and by the common sense of what the latin word 'deca' means, I raised my hand and pointed out her mistake. She was not happy, I got sent to the principal's office who must've been under one of those teacher-principal solidarity contracts or w/e and she also told me I was wrong. I ended up having to write a test on conversion and though I knew I was going to write the wrong measurement when it came to decametre, I did it just to get a check mark. I suddenly feel disgusted at myself.

I was walking to class with my friend and a teacher stopped us and yelled at my friend for being to happy. She said the next time she saw her being that happy she was going to give her detention. We also got detention for laughing during a school mass by the same teacher.

When I was in middle school, I had a psycho art teacher named Ms. Doyle. Dear god, this woman was crazy. One day, our class was working on a project and some people, including me, finished early. She told us that anyone who was done to sit a certain table to start the next project, and when I did she asked me what I was doing. I told her I was finished, and she started to argue with me and said I wasn't. I got up and showed it to her, and when I did she went crazy on me saying I was disrespectful and sent me to the principal's office. But I didn't actually get in trouble, my guidance counselor saw me in there and asked me what happened. She thought I was joking, and when I told her I was serious, she let me go to her air-conditioned office and work on homework for the next few periods.

Threw an empty milk carton at my friend and took too long to clean up the few drops of milk that were spilled on the lunch table - 4 days of lunch detention (had to spend lunch in the dean's office)

Punched a bully in the face - 1 day of detention

Something doesn't add up here...

I once got suspended in third grade, when the class was outside taking pictures of the town during the winter, it was for a class project. Well, two bullies jumped up onto a snowbank and held a treebranch back and as soon as I got near and Bam!! I got a faceful of snow and pine needles.
The two got suspended for doing that, and I also got a suspended, even though I was the victim.

This year, me and a friend leaned back on a stool in a Science room, for which we were sent out. The headteacher walked past and asked us why we were sent out. We explained and she screamed her head off at the teacher that sent us out.
