I've played it, but didn't like the gameplay that much. It felt kinda dull. Maybe I'll give it a second shot, though.Bad Jim said:What about Spec Ops: The Line? It is rather Gears of War-ish. It's 67% off right now and there's a free demo.
Come now you yourself state as such in the OP. Anyway yes I knew it could come off like that which is why if you read a teeny little bit further down you'd find my suggestion. As it was not even worth a brushing off I'll take it as you're not interested.ninja666 said:To be honest, I don't know. I don't even know the general point of this post. What might that be? Please try not to be an asshole when you answer. Thanks.Rozalia1 said:Every time you post one of these you only enforce the very simple solution to all your queries... but you already know that.
Oh, sorry. I was so focused on your cryptic point of the post that I simply didn't notice your suggestion. You're right, though - MGS isn't really what I'm looking for. As for Deus Ex, I'd have to watch some gameplay videos of it to see if I like it or not.Rozalia1 said:Come now you yourself state as such in the OP. I seriously don't get all the hate on this game's QTEs. There wasn't too many of them, they weren't intrusive, and other TR games also had them. Why exactly hate this particular game for it?KingsGambit said:-snip-
Well, I never said I didn't want FPS games. It just happened that all the recommendations so far were TPSs. I don't blame anyone for that, though - it's easier to find something I'm looking for in the TPS library.Blacklight28 said:I'm not sure there is anything that matches all your criteria that you haven't already played, but perhaps you could give one of these a go? They're all FPS games, so sorry if that's not what you're looking for.
It actually is exactly what I'm looking for, but, unfortunately, I've played that one already. I especially liked the sliding option in it - combined with dual-wielded SMGs it gave amazing results.Blacklight28 said:Wolfenstein: The New Order
Good gunplay, some very interesting settings and most areas offer stealthy options as well as a full frontal assault. You're able to lean around corners, but I don't remember anything else to do with a cover system. Also has a nice story, even if it is a bit dark.
I've played the first Crysis before, but it just didn't click with me. I know it sounds weird, since I like Far Cry, but Crysis is a little bit different than those.Blacklight28 said:Crysis Series
Mostly the same as above. Shooting was alright, levels were large and there were plenty of options for stealth and guns blazing, and the environments are gorgeous. Story was meh.
Played that one already. This one is quite a bit of a stretch, though, considering there's little to no killing with guns in it and it relies far more on environmental kills.Blacklight28 said:Bulletstorm
Gameplay was varied and very fun, as were the environments. No options for stealth, unfortunately. Story was surprisingly engaging.
Looks like a standard, fun, oldschool shooter. Nothing more, though. I might pick it up one day just for shits and giggles.Blacklight28 said:Alien Rage
Weapons are hard hitting and feel satisfying to use. It's also quite hard. I've only played the demo on steam, but as far as I can tell there's no stealth or platforming and the setting and characters are pretty generic sci-fi spacemarine bull.
While it definitely allows you to take whatever approach you desire, it actually punishes you for killing by spawning more rats and zombies (or whatever they were), and giving you the bad ending, so it basically forces you to be stealthy. That I don't like.Blacklight28 said:Dishonoured
It's a fantasy game, and not much of a shooter even though it does have some guns/crosbows in it. It's versatile in how you want to approach the levels, weather you want to stealth all the way through without being detected or go in guns blazing and sword slashing to leave no one alive. Art style and the environments are interesting, story is meh. If you do decide to get it, grab the Knife of Dunwall and Brigmore Witches DLC too.
Played it already. I didn't have much fun playing it, though - it was clunky as all hell. The 1997 original is far better imho.Lilikins said:Hmm, doesnt seem its been mentioned and I had loads of fun playing it. Seeing as FPS games are now in the 'run' Id like to throw in
