Tale of Xaillia is a very solid action RPG and the plot an characters are something that does not make me want to grind my teeth on tin foil.
Valkyrie Chronicles are also good as a 3rd person tactical shooter.

Some PS1 titles I know you can get for $5 on the market is Xenogears, FF taticas and many more great RPG's
