My father was raped when he was a child. It screwed up his entire life, the effects of his mid-life depression also affecting his close friends and family. I myself have developed a deep and passionate hatred for all forms of paedophilia (the Herbert jokes in Family Guy make me cringe).

So you understand how much I actually tolerate this man that I think that what you just was way, way too harsh. I can barely tolerate the nicest of paedophiles - I usually pass them off as life-ruining sickos - but this guy isn't like that. You're defining him with one aspect of his personality, and you are the one who brings to light his obsession. He isn't rubbing your nose in it, as much as you think he is.

So I hope you'll understand how dirty I feel when I say, he deserves better than your hatred.

Except that he's a self-confessed pedophile. This isn't me drawing conclusions, this is him explicitly (oh so explicitly) stating it.

To all: Don't mistake this for me saying he isn't welcome here. It's just that, in my view, much of his post content isn't. It's not that I'm profoundly upset by his posts. I just don't think the Escapist needs a self-confessed (and by all evidence, proud) pedophile loudly talking about how he likes to look at animated children.

If that doesn't disturb you to some degree, I must admit, I'm a little concerned for you.
