im 15 and im thinking of getting a job for the summer, I NEED MONEY *foams at the mouth*.

anyway, i already have an application for no frills, but im not sure if i should get the job, or if im even old enough yet.

some people have told me that i should wait, because i still have time to relax before i HAVE to get a job, i was wondering if anybody had any advice?

If you really want one go for it. But right now it's really hard. I know the supermarket Sainsbury's only put jobs up on their site for an hour because they know they'll get enough applications in that time.

Especially in this economy, my brother is almost eighteen, and he can't get a job anywhere.

OP: look in places everyone else your age does, supermarkets, the theatres things like that. Ask around with friends or better yet your parents friends will be more helpful when it comes to things like that.

ya, just about every single person i know thats my age works at no frills, but my one friend works at AMC theatres. thats i job i wouldnt mind having, u get free movies for ur family and 1 friend (any yourself obviously) and half off everything at the snack bar during work hours. my only problem is i would have no way of getting there unless i had the same hours as my friend, and im pretty sure they wouldnt hire me if i needed that.

Go for it, but be prepared for a lot of hard work just finding one. I started looking when I was 15. I'm now two months from my 19th birthday, at university, and I still have never had a part time job. Getting on the ladder is the hardest thing in the world, but when you do manage it then you'll be on the ladder and it'll be much easier then to find work afterwards. If you are going for a summer job don't just think about money. Think the long term over the short term. Find out what careers you would like to do and focus on those to get the credit and letters of recommendation for your resume.

Even if there is one thing that relates what you would like to do in a skill or accomplishment for a future career is ten times better than taking a job that doesn't relate to what you want to do at all.

Whatever job you do get don't expect to get paid much. I currently work at Toys R Us and only work about two or three days a week, and thats if I'm lucky.

Get a job, if you can, and work hard. Nothing beats the feeling of when you get your first paycheck.

move to canada, Calgary to be exact. this city is literally BOOMING with new businesses and potential employers. Im 17, I have 2 jobs, and im looking into more. Although, the pay and hour do kinda suck...oh well, better than nothing i guess.

Any and everywhere.
There are some jobs people won't take because they think they are better then them (Heres a hint: They aren't). So apply at fast food places, super markets, Wal-Mart, everywhere. If you need the money, you do what you gotta do. Even working a shitty job.

And when you get an interview, don't wear jeans. Dress nice, even if it's for McDonald's or Wal-Mart. Treat the interview and job seriously, regardless of how mundane it is, and it'll get you far. Every boss I've ever had will give me glowing recommendations and referrals because I did my job and I did it well. All the other kids were slacking off and talking away, and I was getting raises, promotions, and experience which got me better work. And I still had fun at all my jobs (Except that one shift when I was a janitor at a court house, and some guy in the holding cell shat in the sink...that wasn't too fun).

Bottom line: Work where you have to, and even if it's a shitty gig...do it and do it right.
Trust me, it'll make life easier.

sorry, I just had to. If your 15 you should get you parents to pay for your summer school that you should be taking because you FAIL! No, seriously, its summer, get out the lawn mower an askk your neighbors if you could cut their grass for a small fee of $15. simple, easy and effective.

It depends what the job is, but I started my first job as a waitress just after I turned 14.
