Having read Fappy's open letter, I have decided that I should contribute to the attempt to breathe some frivolity back into the forum. And what better way to do that than with a thread about superpowers? (I know this has been done before but shut up, we need some light-heartedness)

What would your ideal superpower be? Personally I like the idea of time manipulation. I'd never have to worry about not having done enough study for an exam again.

I got Expanding Energy Bolts, which is apparently the ability to cast bolts of energy that expand on contact with their target.

Also, Captcha just asked me if I plan on getting engaged in the next 12 months. It'll never work between us, Captcha, I'm just not ready for that level of commitment.

My ideal ability would be the power to summon fictional beings in to my universe, complete with their full power sets.
Time/Space continuum about to implode? Summon the Doctor. Giant monster attack? Summon Goku.

Now my random superpower....Enhanced Strength....well that's dull, though straightforwardly useful, I suppose.

So I rolled again and got---System Manipulation---

seems so OP that it might not be any fun either...could do a *lot* of good with it though....

I rank the jumper books by steven gould as one of my favorite fo all time. Ever since I read those books the only power that could possibly be better is immortality. Teleportation would be a fantastic superpower, not that i would use it to become a superhero but my life would immediately change. no more paying for theme park admissions just teleport right inside. No more long car or plane rides. It would be a game changer.

Anyway, my favorite superpower is Superspeed. Speedsters are always fun characters, even if a million laws of physics must be side-stepped to make it work. I just like speedsters. It's a little weird too, because in real life, I fucking hate running. Just any kind of running. It sucks. I like swimming though.

Capabilities
Whenever something bad happens to you such as getting punched in the face, you receive the positive effects of that outcome instead of becoming weaker and in pain you'd become stronger and more fit. It works the opposite way round. If you eat something healthy such as an apple then you become more sick and unhealthy.

Applications
If you get in a fight you will inevitably win.
If you jump off a building you will become really strong.
If you eat junk food you'll become healthier.
If you never shower you'll smell really nice.
If you go bankrupt then you'll become a millionaire.
If you get no sleep you'll become really energetic and awake.
If you are really mean to someone they'll be you're best friend.
If you don't study you pass a test.

Limitations
If you work out you'll become weaker.
If you eat healthier you'll become sicker.
If you sleep you'll spend the rest of the day really drowsy and sleepy.
This power may lead to serious laziness.
This power can be worked around if played correctly (i.e. Increasing the effect of gravity on a person with Reversed Effect will send them hurtling into space).

I don't think you quite understand just how game breaking truth manipulation is

maybe if it was paired with reality warping, but by it self? your just really good at lieing and lies only go so far

It mean I can make anything true.

If I say you have no powers, you have no powers, or if I'm am invincible, I'm invincible.

It allows me to manipulate reality by virtue of being able to make anything a truth.
