"yes, I am here" said the robot, and replied to each apparent question in turn "We are in an apartment in the Southern suburb of the city of Urbis. I am unsure exactly how you survived, but through the data I have I infer that you sustained apparently fatal wounds fighting Mr Terrible, who left you for dead. However, Dr Carter, through unknown means, restored you to your current state."

"By that state," he continued, "I mean that you have been given a number of robotic upgrades, a power similar to my own mimicry and a positronic brain within your skull, which fortunately you can override with your own thoughts."

"I came here to kill a corrupt priest and was looking for something to believe in...after my wife died I felt like I had nothing left...but now I just want to get out of this damn city. I'm heading towards the airport, taking control of a plane and getting out of here"

He turned to the man

"Care to join me?"

"huh so you`ve been through crap tons of pain and your without religion?....you sound like my kind of guy" terrible said taking a deep laugh it as always laced with a slight tone of malice.

"....why the fuck do I always find these kind of people and never anyone normal or well adjusted, must be my luck" terrible whispered to himself before turning back to Nathan.

"and I`m gonna pass on getting out of here because there's still buildings in this city that are standing so I`m gonna be here a while...but because I`m bored and in need of things to do I`l go with you to the airport, cause I`ve always wanted to tear down an airport hangar and because it means I get to kill people" terrible said with a slight chuckle at the thought of him using a steel girder from a airport hangar as a bat and knocking a civilian into the distance

"so....which way, guy who`s name I don`t know" terrible said looking both ways down the street.

Nathan laughed with the other man

"But if all you met were normal people, where would all the fun be?"

He was enjoying talking to this man, he brought out a carefree nature within him that he hadn't felt since the times he had with his wife.

"I'm Nathan, by the way. I appericate you coming with me, I'll find some way to repay you"

Just then, a blue and white van drove by and Nathan launched a Spirit String at the driver, pulling the older women out of the vehicle, setting her down in front of him

"Which way to the airport?"

He asked kindly to his puppet

"That way, on the other side of the city"

She murmured blandly, pointing in a North East direction.

Nathan turned to his new companion

"Well then, shall we be off?"

"Upgrades..." she repeated slowly, looking down at herself. She couldn't see any of them... but then, the doctor had made more than enough robots to learn how to fit them inside a humanoid vessel. It made sense that Carter would use a human subject as well. 3W was an android, a synthetic being made to look organic. Carter's next creation would have been better. An organic being made better through science. 4W.

She looked up towards ThreeWords. "I was... her creation then. Just another machine that she was going to use against the supers."

Suddenly she felt an overwhelming concern. It had been 6 months since she last heard from a single other super that had survived the Surge. Why? Why hadn't one of them made themselves known yet? "What happened to the other city...? They can't have all died... At least one of them must have gotten away, right?"

"huh, Nathan is it?, I knew a guy named Nathan once... wait no I did`nt that`s just what I named this particularly amusing corpse I found this one time, man that was a good day" terrible sighed reminiscing of times past.

"oh please there`s only one thing I want and I`m damn sure you have`nt got it" terrible replied walking over to the car Nathan stopped and leaned onto the bonnet pressing against it, doing a fake check of it`s suspension and even ducking to check the tire pressure.

"hey before we go betcha I make this car go from o to a 100 without starting it, watch" and as soon as he finished his sentence terrible moved behind the car and slammed at the trunk with his palm sending it zooming forward and into a nearby intersection south of them crashing into another car side-on causing a small disturbance around it.

"well now that my deep seated need of destruction is satisfied, let`s go, I`m sure nothing dangerous or possibly life threatening will attack us on the way there, causing us to stop what we`re doing and save ourselves and possibly some other people we can`t stand" terrible said in a purely sarcastic tone rolling his eyes for added effect, almost trying to predict what was going to happen to him.

"so anyway, what the hell can you do, I saw some kind of string coming out of your finger....I swear to god if you climb up one wall or make a smart-ass remark I will have to kill you due to one of the things on my to-do list being bring down Disney and all affiliated divisions no matter how much I like reading old comic books" terrible threatened jokingly but sounding as serious as he normally would have said anything else before starting to walk soon walking alongside Nathan as they started to make their way to the airport.

"I have the ability to take control of people...normal people, like puppets"

Nathan explained, his eyebrow arching curiously at Terrible's comment

"Have you been in a situation like this before?"

He asked, remembering Damien and Kris.

"Hold on a sec...come on girl"

He tugged on the women's string, causing her to walk alongside them with her blank zombie expression and Nathan tossed an arm around her, smiling back at Terrible

"Meat shield. Very useful"

The engine of the humvee started with a roar. Garth revved the engine a few times, a smile spread across his face. He enjoyed the sounds of engines and machines, maybe it was because he was a man of metal himself, bearing some sort of resemblance to machine. He did not know, he just liked them.

Reggie turned his head back to Miss Harbours.

"Glad to have you join us, Miss Harbours." He smiled.

"What about them two?" Asked Garth tilting his head at Damien and the other man.

"If they were coming, they'd have gotten in by now. Fuck 'em." Replied Reggie, as he said this, Garth stepped on the gas and they were off. "Next stop, the compound"

Reggie felt happier with another super along, even at the expense of 4 humvees of soldiers. The spun round in a U-turn, avoiding the block previously sunken by Pain, and passed the two other supers.

Shame, missing out on two.

They headed south. Towards the compound where there had been reports of a super attacking company employees. Subject 17, Aka Cecia had escaped. This had been a few hours ago, whether she was still in the compound or not, he did not know and didn't really care for the thought of using telepathy to find out.

To be honest, it's their own fault for holding her like that. I'm not doing this for the company. If she get's into the city....

He couldn't think like that. What he had to think about was what he was going to do when they found her...

Me and Co were heading towards you before. Now that the Pain fiasco is over, we're heading to you again. You should really post, man

"huh so you can make people do things they don`t want to do....I`m really against forced servitude, but hey you can`t pick your powers, but if you try it on me, I will hurt you and I will hurt you severely" terrible threatened upon hearing of Nathan's power, he then looked over at the civilian Nathan had put under his control.

"huh...I never really noticed but some of these non-super dogs are are`nt actually that bad looking, too bad they all have to die at some point" terrible sighed as he and Nathan continued to walk to the airport the soft sounds of chaos and screaming providing them with a nice background noise to their journey.

"so....why you leaving?, if you don`t mind my asking" terrible said halfheartedly trying to make conversation.

"Don't worry, I can't control supers"

Nathan explained

"So there is no need to be worried about me...controlling you"

The group of them turned at a corner, the city turning a bit more normal as they headed towards the airport

"As for why I'm leaving...I have an experiment to test out"

He grinned

"And it will change the world"

"I can't be sure" ThreeWords replied, as if it were shameful, "I had been deactivated during the time of the battle, and by the time I could check, there was little evidence either way. However, I have seen no evidence that any live, and I have been monitoring the state of the whole country. If they had been active, I would have known."

"I must assume they are all dead"

Yeah, I probably should. >.>

Also, you're a little bit off on the number, it's 213, not 17.

And...Don't expect Cecia to be willing to go into an alliance, she's got that demon, remember?
[sup]That and your pretty far off, Cecia sorta escaped.[/sup]

After what felt like a few hours of hiding beneath a pile of refuse and filth, Cecia climbed out of the pile of garbage, letting out loud gasps for air; but luckily for her the driver of the dump truck was to preoccupied with his music, driving, and avoiding all the commotion go on in the streets to notice her. Her eyes nervously darted out into the street, which were fairly vacant due to the amount of police activity. With a sigh, she barreled out of the back of the dump truck, and hit the concrete below with yet another thud. Without so much as a groan, she picked herself up from the ground and dusted herself off. Cecia knew she wouldn't have much time to gather herself, after all there was no doubt The Company would be trying to find her.

Run into a fucking ally way, it's cliche as all hell but it works.

Cecia had been caught off guard by the mental invasion, but she wasn't about to disagree with the voice in her head, it did have a good idea after all. So, she simply nodded, and sprinted into the alleyway...

I really hate when I write short/clumsy posts like this.

Anyway, I'm sure the veterans of Surge are aware that DM just posses people for fun, and doesn't really have actually incentive to do these things.

Also, does The Company have a name? Or is it just The Company?

All dead? No. She couldn't accept that. These weren't just some two-bit supers who had yet to figure things out. She'd tried to teach them better than that... She had tried to buy them some time to escape...

They must be hiding. They must. Otherwise her efforts had been a waste. Her death... a useless gesture. She sighed, her shoulders drooping slightly. Deciding that she had spent more than enough time sitting on the bed, she began to stand and a full set of clothes began to put themselves onto her.

"Carter wouldn't bring me back to life just for a few errands... There's something big happening. And we need to find out what it is. But first I need to know a few things. Like... what we're up against. And who we might be able to get on our side."

"Three dead- George, Chloe, and Sarah Gray, in what police are most ready to blame on supers. Wife and mother of two children missing, Temica, with no traces of her disappearance to be found. Her car was found last outside her office, where she checked in. No one saw her leave, no one noticed her move anywhere. Her office shows no sign of struggle, no-"

"Miranda, we've been over this four times already, and talking it over, if you haven't noticed, hasn't got us very far."

"Thanks Norman. I hadn't noticed." Miranda sighed, the frustration swiftly building her to a breaking point. She leaned back against the black Honda car and placed a hand gingerly over her temple. "I'm sorry. Its been a long day. Week. I don't know."

The man beside her nodded slowly, his eyes gazing at the scene before them, seeming unfocused. He hesitated a long moment, then replied, "I know you don't want to hear this, Miranda, but I did the search again like you asked. Your sisters' apartment still shows nothing. It was half demolished that day, and there's little there but crackers and cushions." Norman folded his arms across his chest to fight back the cold gnawing at his open coat. "There's nothing to find."

Miranda remained silent. Tucking a stray strand of blond hair behind one ear, she turned away from Norman, biting her bottom lip. She had known not to expect anything. Throughout the past months after that eerie event in Urbis, bodies of missing peoples had appeared as bits of gore and flesh, while countless others had vanished. The fight within the skyscrapers of warehouses of the jungle-esque city had ended with the deaths of hundreds, if not thousands... and her missing sibling.

As her mind continued into loops of the thoughts that plagued her since, she was dimly aware of the arm that wrapped itself around her shoulders. "I'm not saying she isn't still out there," Norman said after a long moment, his voice softer, his tone less annoyed. "She probably is."

"Sure," Miranda whispered back. She could have sworn that ever since that day, the world felt just a little darker, a little colder. Though it was probably just her. She took a steadying breath, then turned to Norman with a weak, hopeful smile.

"We've been friends since university," he continued. "First time we met, what happened?"

"I spilt three cups of coffee on you seven minutes before your job interview."

"And then?"

"We ended up having a drink for four hours."

"Exactly." Norman grinned. "Want to get a drink? We've seen all there is here." He looked to the house across the street, its black, charred ruin surrounded by the bright yellow flash of police tape. Three body bags sat on the lawn outside, each smaller than the last, and doused with a sprinkling of water that had poured in torrents in what seemed to be only a short while ago. The ambulance hadn't been required after all.

"Yeah, I just- can I have a minute?" Miranda pulled away slightly, and Norman nodded.

"Of course, yeah. I'll be waiting." He opened the car door and slipped inside. Miranda turned and wandered off, zipping up her modest leather jacket as she did so. It hung loose enough so that the gun holstered at her side remained invisible. Casting a quick glance back to Norman, she slipped inside the nearby alleyway and leaned back against the cold stone wall, finally able to wipe the hanging tears from her eyelid.

"Good thing I wore waterproof mascara," she sighed with a weak chuckle.

She may seem a little familiar to some of you. Hope you didn't miss me. ;]
Name: Miranda Vance

Appearance: Twenty-six years old and standing at 5'7", Miranda has been blessed with a graceful beauty from birth that she naturally embraces. Over her brown eyes is a coating of dark mascara and light eyeshadow in skin tones- nothing dramatic, merely comfortable. Her face is free of pimples and blemishes, her lips coated a warm glossy pink. Dirty blonde hair falls to her shoulders, ending in gentle waves that curl coyly about her slender neck. On her chin is a thin, light scar that is hardly visible under a layer of concealer. Her body is slim from work exercises and jogging, and very fit, as her job requires.

Though typically professional and always dressing in a work-appropriate style, bad weather and an excess of field duty has Miranda dressed in: a pair of skinny blue jeans; brown calf-length boots; a tucked-in white collared blouse; and a brown leather jacket. Around her belt is a holster for her gun, and an ID badge hangs around her neck. She often keeps a notepad and golfing pencil tucked away in the inside of her jacket, and a very small camera in her back pocket. She strongly dislikes having to carry a purse or luggage of any kind.

Powers: A light manipulator, Miranda's abilities can serve a variety of purposes and are rather flexible. Perhaps the most useful accomplishment is the ability to bend the light around her or other objects to make them invisible, or move light to create short swift energy blasts. Light, in essence, is also her greatest ally; standing in any type of light gives her the ability to heal herself, as well as recharge her internal battery, which makes her abilities stronger and more potent.

Miranda is also able to attract or repulse photons- by attracting them she can make herself or a certain object glow to very bright levels, or brighten an entire room. By repulsing, she can turn a room to complete darkness, making it impossible to see and rendering light sources (flashlights, fires) ineffective.

Bio: Miranda was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada as the oldest of three sisters. Ever the protective one, Miranda had become the mother hen of sorts, keeping a close eye on her siblings until they had all graduated high school and parted ways. After having their mother die when Miranda was seventeen, the girls had developed an inseparable bond. They would regularly play and talk together, as well as confide in one another once their special abilities came to fruition.

The next year, Miranda had left for university in Urbis, hoping to become a criminologist or some type of investigator. Frequently being near the top of her class, she graduated with honours, and was quickly recruited to the FBI, where she has worked for the past two years. Though still considered a rookie, she has solved already a number of investigations and is always confident in her work.

Damien caught up to the car that was traveling on the open highway. He was moving just as fast as the car. He almost looked like he was skating over the ground. He checked his location. "Shit, too late!" He slammed into the car, sending it far away, nearly 30 feet to the left. He saw an object coming at him and his eyes widened. The object exploded, creating a crater ten feet in diameter and sending up clouds of smoke. The tank that had The Company logo swiveled around to look for the car when the smoke cleared. Damien was still standing there, his left arm swathed in foggy, purple waves. He launched a ball of hyper-condensed gravity at the tank cannon just as it tried to fire a shell. The barrel twisted and warped. The shell, hitting the inside, exploded, destroying the tank. Damien shielded himself from the shrapnel and saw the blockade he had seen on his phone. "Damn, they're not taking any chances." He went over to the car. "Hurry up, they have tanks!" He yelled at them. They seemed dazed, but other than that, uninjured. He had made sure to soften the impact and the landing.

Yes, I was thinking of that one scene from Revenge of the Fallen when i wrote this. And yes, Damien can and has done something like that before, in S1.

"An experiment?, huh sounds interesting, what do you plan on doing to help the scum of this earth live a little longer or is it a strictly a purge venture to rid us of these vermin?" terrible asked his tone cold and bitter, a twisted expression of disgust on his face as he scanned the people around him some of them a look of fear upon their face and some of them a look of calmness that terrible could just tell was hiding complete and utter terror, he then turned his gaze back to Nathan his stare still cold and dull as he asked him another question.

"so...what`s your verdict on these vermin, do you have pity or hate for them" terrible asked seemingly out of nowhere his voice remained as the same dull monotone it had been for most of their conversation.

The door of the humvee burst off and Reggie leapt out. He landed crouched on the ground, he looked up at Damien.
"Was that really necessary?" He glared at the man. With no form of transport, they'd never get to the compound.
He then looked do the highway and saw the group of tanks. His eyes widened, but not in surprise. In concentration. He started to run at them but now he was fast then the average human, much fast. He charged then stopped just in front the first one. He threw out his arms in front of him. His eyes then closed as his mind homed in on all of the tank, it's parts, everything He then suddenly opened his eyes and the tank burst into all it's separate components. The commander, driver and gunner who were operating it fell out. They ran in cowardice as Reggie crushed the remains of the tank into a small cube.

Nathan pondered Terrible's questions, his head titled slightly as he considered them

"As for the result of my experiment, we will see what will happens if I succeed"

He stroked his chin, his eyes glazing over slightly

"As for these people...they supported the attack on us when they could have stopped it and now that the shit is flying back in there faces they're screaming for mercy. If they had the courage to stand up for there convictions, I may begrudgingly respect them..."

He swept his hand out around him, engulfing the entire city in his view

"But this is just pathetic and deserves to be erased"

"and you think it`s just here?" terrible replied slightly amused by nathan's response. "every place is like this, supers are everywhere and everywhere there is vermin like them ready to hunt them for their own survival, so as long as one super lives and as long as one human lives our kind will be hated and prosecuted.

"and pfft you think these people will stand up to us, humanity is trained to solve all it`s problems with violence and when your enemy is far superior to you and can easily overpower you, the mind's first instinct is to hide AKA retreat like a frightened child and hope they will live, only to have that hope snatched away at the last minute...so I would`nt expect them to stand up for themselves" terrible explained his cold expression now replaced with one of fury mixed with disgust.

"anyway enough about these vermin, where you headed, I`d like to know seeing as how I`m helping you steal a plane" terrible asked a curious look on his face, something in him feeling an enormous amount of relief that for the first time in over two years he was actually talking to someone without fighting them or trying to kill them.
