I work in Para-Ops. What my name is, who I am, these things are not important. officially, I and my colleagues don't exist. Our job is sorting out what shouldn't be, to smooth down the status quo when something less than normal starts to happen
Normally, it's not much of a deal. Some guy work s out a way to mind control people. Or maybe he finds some old spell book. No problem, he's still not bulletproof. But there was this one time, a while back, when things got way out of hand.
Two years ago, in a city I'm not allowed to name, something happened. We don't know what, but it was big. Somehow, normal people developed superhuman abilities, powers beyond belief. But they went mad, and just tore into each other, every man for himself. Para-Ops were called in, but we had nothing on them. Even on their own, they were one man armies, and we never stood a chance. In the end, we were pulled back, to aviod taking any more losses.
We still don't know why it happened, or how. But now, our scientists reckon the settings are right. They aren't sure, but they reckon it's gonna happen again, and soon. They more than a little vague, but they know enough to tell us where. Right now, there a debate in high command: do we head in, do our duty, try to keep order, or do we hold back.
I know which way it will go. We cannot just sit back and watch such devastation again. But personally, I'd rather hang back. I'd not like to be there when the surge comes again...

Right, y'all, I've decided to start now, and terribleyetfun can join whenever he happens to arrive, should he choose to.
To start with, write yourself an intro post. You know the drill (I hope). Do what you want, maybe meet up for chat or a fight. I'll be dropping some story, or some notable NPCs, on you at some point in the near future.
But for now, go mental =D
