Amy shivered horribly, but slowly managed to lift her head. A man around her age knelt nearby, a clean face amidst the destruction her outburst had caused. His words dimly reached her ears, and though she understood what he said, she failed to hear the exact words.
"I... I don't... okay..." Her lips trembled, face stained with steamy tears. The sound of sirens echoed in the distance, along with loud chatter of people upon the streets outside of the alley, staring at the buildings that balanced themselves precariously.
Her stomach felt empty, her head light and dizzy. So much energy had left her body so rapidly, she felt more famished than anything. Curling her hands into fists, she looked to the stranger. "C-Could you help... help me up? Please?" She noted the nervous expression on his face. "I won't hurt you..."
