The only one dead right now is Alex, suicide bombing and whatnot.

As the light intensified Dark Mist let out a cackle as it jumped back, not before having its arms destroyed by the heat however. The now armless shadow chuckled in joy, not feeling any pain.

"You know what the wonderful part of this is? The only two getting hurt right now are you and Ray. All the damage you cause gets sent right to him, All I feel is the rush."

From the smoking holes formerly home to the arms a fury of tentacles formed, shaped into hooks and blades. They lashed out at high speeds towards Amy, intent on ripping the light controller limb from limb.

alright looks like i will try and post something now.

Kris was still fighting off the mental attack when he thought he heard Amy say something and then run off. He was in too much pain to pay attention to her words but when she was gone, the pain stopped. Kris was able to stand up straight, he saw that Ryan had also recovered from the attack, and they both noticed that Amy was no longer with them. She must have done something to make it stop. The pain he had felt in his mind was similar to what Ray made them all go through, but it had been more powerful, more wild. That dark creature that had been chasing them out of the city must be what attacked their minds, that must be what was left of Ray. And Amy was now confronting that thing. There was no other explanation.

"Ryan, we can't just let her go after that thing alone." Kris walked towards Ryan to help the man stand up straight. "She could be killed!" He was about to walk in the same direction he thought Amy had taken when a bright flash of light in front of him took him by surprise. He knew then that the fight had already started. "I don't care what she says, I just can't let her get killed by that thing."Kris turned to look at Ryan. "I know you feel the same, so let go!" Kris made his saber appear and started to run in the direction of the bright light.

Well, looks like i was able to get a post in. but i gotta go pick up my girldfriend from work so i'm off now. i might be able to post later tonight.

So you two are sharing secrets now, eh? Well, well, well, I wouldn't want to intrude on that obviously special, vaguely creepy stalker-to-stalker relationship. I'll talk to Aqua.

Time for the post!

Ryan's sides ached, his legs burned, the skin of his joints cried out in agony as he ran, but he was happy. Happier than he had been in a long time. They had escaped, the sun was rising, Amy was with him, and everything was going to be fine. Alex, Damien, and Cathy were lost, and it was a terrible loss, but due to it the survivors were free, and Ryan was going to be happy in their stead. He would be happy for all three of them. He would be happy for all the innocent people in the city that had been killed, he would be happy for all the crazed supers that Ray had tortured and murdered mercilessly on the rooftop, he would be happy for all the mislead Company soldiers they had killed to get away, he would be happy for anyone and everyone that couldn't be happy anymore. All that happiness would certainly force his soul open and cause him to explode, but by god would it be a glorious explosion.

Every wonderful, resounding step forward was like putting ten thousand miles between them and their enemies. Every second that they continued to flee, unharmed and unhindered, was like ten putting thousand years between them and their enemies death. He bounded in a field of glimmering, shining freedom, oblivious to the cruel world and ignorant to all else besides their glorious freedom. The sun rose to greet his smiling face as Ryan turned and grinned at Amy, waiting to see her beaming face in return.

It wasn't beaming.

A moment of doubt, a slow-motion moment of disbelief as the worry and realization in her face met his, but it was too late. He hadn't been alert, he hadn't noticed the signs. He would have sensed Ray's essence, the incoming darkness of the demon's terrible assault, but only if he had been looking for it. Ryan froze.

His foot caught a bump, a tiny, minuscule bump in the dirt, and down he went, the golden grass slowly turning sideways as the liquids in his ears screamed to him that he needed to reach out his arms. The sunlight disappeared under the ridge of his brow as darkness fell around him, the mottled blue shadow of the tilled earth swooping upwards to meet him. Tiny gorges, canyons, and mountain ranges passed beneath him like a nature documentary as his face glided along the surface, altitude dropping. The tiny little neuron signal "brace for impact" went ignored, but he didn't feel anything anyway. He was already deep in the clutches of a wild, untamed void.

Darkness. Blackness. Complete and Immovable. Unbreakable. Pain unimaginable. Moisture. A texture of millions of microscopic beads, felt below. The indiscernible rumblings and squelchings of tiny ground things as they fled through the dirt. Pain. More pain. Skin and organs, all painfully present as he felt all of them cry out. The center of his being tumbled around, then stopped, pressing outwards, then stabbing inward, then imploding and exploding and ripping the inside of his skull to shreds. A soft sensation, like that of fingers or cloth or some fluent object brushing against him. A breeze. Then a warm feeling on his back. The dirt and grass and tiny pieces of rotted wood all pressing against him.

Ryan's body lay still, then suddenly twitched and bolted upright, falling backwards onto the ground again. He let out an agonized wail, forcing his palms onto his head so hard that he could have killed himself right then and there. His fingers wrapped around his cranium like a vice, digging into the skin and drawing blood. A long, pitiful, tortured cry leapt from his throat and didn't stop, puring out like water into the fields and trees.

Then it was over, for some reason. Ryan went limp, eyes closed, arms stretched out on the ground. Slowly he opened them, releasing lakes of hot, salty tears that ran down his face and pooled on the soft, dimpled ground. The happiness, the joy, the hope, was suddenly gone. All of it. He turned his head slowly to gaze at Amy, noticing she was already standing. No words came, and even though he knew the sight of her should offer him some form of comfort, it didn't. The utter plunge his soul had just taken left no room for that. He simply stared at her as she looked back into the fields. Then Amy turned back to him, looking him directly in the eye for a long moment, with a smile.

"...Good luck."

What? Shock riddled him as she disappeared into the tall grass. He lay there for what seemed like ages, the realization dawning on him. What? WHAT? WHAT?!?! Ryan was up off the ground in a second, eyes fixed on the swaying stalks that marked where his love had just vanished. Kris said something, maybe, but it was not important. The man's voice simply struck the dull rock wall that was Ryan's ears and filtered away into nothingness. That didn't matter right now.

"Amy! Amy no!" He bolted forward, physical and mental pain suddenly irrelevant. His legs pumped like some huge alien machine, back and forth, back and forth as he sped through the grass. Adrenaline washed through his veins and powered his body, granting to him speed like an Olympic athlete and reflexes like a trained commando. Fallen logs, fences, stumps, rocks, anything that came at him through the dense vertical fog of golden grass, all of it was dodged with expert skill as he charged through, clearing a path without breaking stride. Whip-like strands slapped against his face, chest and arms as Ryan recklessly rocketed passed them. As a bright, blinding light lit up the sky ahead of them, a faint warning was barely heard from Kris, far behind him, but it was ignored. The light meant battle had begun, and he had to be there for her. He had to.

Long one, that. An even longer one could be on the way, though. How I do love climaxes. :)

Holy shit wall of text! Anyway, I'm back (In Black is optional) and Damien is Aliiiivve!

Damien stumbled towards the bright light. When he got to the clearing, he saw Dark Mist and Amy fighting. "Dammit, I'm too late!" He tripped over a rock and fell flat, struggling to get up. "Dammit, I already failed once. Not. Again!" He pushed himself back onto his feet.

It wasn't exactly secret, just ideas. xD But indeed, Yorg! I do love climaxes!

...*cough* In roleplays, I mean.

She had little time to react, after her beam of light vanished and faded, leaving Dark Mist amputated. It felt eerie, that she should have the strength to deliver such a blow and feel hardly fatigued, but the past days had been odd enough to permit any exceptions. Little seemed true anymore- though emotions remained largely predictable and barbaric, these inhuman abilities were growing and evolving beyond recognition. Soon, Amy felt, she wouldn't even be human anymore.

As the tentacles shot toward her at a riveting pace, Amy dropped to one knee as if to kneel to the darkness. Instead, as the writhing arms and hooks extended, they froze inches from her face with a curved wall of light. Upon collision, the light screen- almost like a bubble of warmth- blossomed and glowed with a furious brightness. Though she felt comfortable, an immense heat burned and scorched the grass about her. The darkness of the many tentacles was fried, like parchment caught fire. Some of the limbs burned clean in half, falling limp and vanishing, while others hung alight by threads of dark fleshy strings, threatening to snap.

She allowed the screen to vanish before rising again to her feet, her knees stiff and reluctant to move. Rolling her wrists, she heard the joints click, loosening her slightly. The ground within several feet of her was immediately shortened, small flames alive here and there. Amy paid them no heed- more of the Earth would have to suffer in this final conflict.

Taking another step forward, Amy called through the dim, chilly morning air to the demon before her. "Ray is suffering enough through you. I never was one for euthanasia-" ever the beacon of hope... "-but there's little left for him, I can tell. You've ruined his body, his soul."

Jaw clenched tightly she cast her golden gaze straight into Dark Mists' single eye, hoping that through some contorted lens that Ray could see her still. "Ray." Her lip trembled, her eyes glossy and pained. "Ray, I'm so sorry. For everything. But this is the only way I can help you." She was grimacing now, struggling not to lose any bit of calm she had left. Tears overflowed, trickling down her velveteen cheeks like morning dew. "Please forgive me," Amy sobbed.

A disturbance in the grass. On the edge of the clearing, a person appeared- Damien! No... No one can ruin this! Not now! The tall curtain rustled behind her, and the choice became clear.

Raising her arms to her sides, her skin shone brightly, matched suddenly by the air. Phasing in from nothingness, a large type of dome- akin to the screen she had guarded herself with not moments ago- enclosed the clearing, trapping herself and Dark Mist within. Should the others so much as touch the dome, their skin would likely melt. The heat of the shield, though, was more than enough to keep them a good few feet away.

She dared not look over her shoulder. Not at Ryan. Not now- not yet.

DUN DUN DUNNN.

Terrible leaped into the air, a look of hatred and rage painted on his face. "That's it! I'm through playing these games!"

Catherine hopped backwards as Terrible unleashed a barrage of elemental blasts, scorching the ground where she had just been, freezing it and covering it in black crystals in mere milliseconds, all in a succession as she repeatedly dodged.

"Come on," the madman chuckled from the other side of the box, "There's nothing else you can do. You've done it all, swords, guns and throwing stars, and none of it works. So just give it up. Your back's to the wall and you've proven that I can't be beaten." His hands erupted into flame.

She sighed, in front of her stood Terrible, behind her was the cold metal wall of the prison she had made. Is this it? Is this all I can do? She looked down, the crystalline ruins of earth reflecting the light back up towards her, letting her see her own face, filled with sadness and defeatism. How could I fall so far? It's not fair... She could see a tear fall from her reflection's eye, felt it descend along her cheek and fall to the destroyed ground beneath.

"Say night night Cathy." Terrible thrust his hands out, a column of fire shooting towards the doomed woman.

I can't just let him win... I can't. I have to win. I have to! Her resolve had been shaken by the repeated attacks, but now it returned. Just in the nick of time as well. She pushed forwards with a large shield, the twin jets of fire refracting away from its surface.

Goddammit, this is what I'm talking about. I improve and then you make compete with these epic post's that have more words then most RP opening post's have. Very well, I shall try and keep up.

As the bubble of intensified light encased the two controllers of light and darkness, Dark Mist let out a sigh. It's skin bubbled and tore as the heat approached, revealing a mess of shadows and smoke. The weapons faded back into hands, giving way to more humanoid figure. The center eye burnt away and closed, retreating back into the hideous smoke.

"Suffering because of me? I apologize but aren't you the one who kept dehumanizing him? You are the real monster in this situation. You robbed him of his body from I remember, your friends retrained him and then you burnt him alive. His body was nothing more then a crispy skeleton, something for the dogs to chew on. I brought him back to this world, doesn't that make me the good guy?"

As Dark Mist continued with it's insane rant, a sudden whisper was heard in Amy's head. Another mental invasion of privacy, but not an attack.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ray sat back in the corner of the room, beaten and bruised. His face ran red with blood, his hair dyed dark red with his own life force. Ray's shirt was tattered and cut, also stained red. From the boy's eyes a stream of tears poured, running alongside the blood. His hand covered his face, a failed attempt to hide is own humiliation and defeat.

"Don't...don't fell sorry. You had no better choice, no better option. I deserve this, don't hesitate." Ray spoke not in a monotone, but in a broken cry. He stuttered when speaking, his words broken apart by the sobbing.

The stuff above the line in normal font is the physical conversation with DM, the shit below the line the italics is the mental talk with Ray. Sorry if it's a tad confusing.

Aaahhh, I see what you did there!

Before Amy could reply, a new sight entered her vision. It was an eerie sensation; though she could still see Dark Mist before her, reduced from the light of the dome, a greater picture penetrated her skull, visible more to her other senses than sight. Struggling to stay even in both worlds, she kept a wary eye on her adversary, in case he tried to take advantage of the distraction.

In her mind, Amy stepped closer to Ray, and knelt beside him. The room felt cold. Here, however, she continued to glow, a beacon in the darkness. Tenderly, she raised a hand- once manicured and smooth, now grimy and scratched- and swept away a trail of blood from above his eye. It looked as though the red substance burned in her bright presence.

"Ray..." She grimaced at the sight of him. The most violent sight she had seen before was a chunk of some animal tossed to the side of a highway: roadkill. That was what Ray had been reduced to, here and now. Flung out of his own body and left to die. A fresh stream of tears slid down her face to match his.

"You don't deserve this. None of this, at all. It's... It's a goddamn tumour!" Her hand dropped to his shoulder as they both cried, united in pain. After taking a moment to steady herself, Amy nodded slightly. "I can't promise this won't hurt. But... I have to stop it, Ray. That's all it has been, this whole time- us two. It has to end, now."

Blinking a few times, she looked down to her hand where she had wiped the blood from Ray's face. Her hand was clean- until, however, a drop of red splattered onto her palm. Reaching upward, she searched with her fingers until she found a streak of warm wetness dripping from her ear, down her neck. She shook, looking back to Dark Mist.

Damien saw the light and knew what it meant. "I guess... My role is done for now." He lifted himself up, away from the battlefield. He landed on a rocky outcropping, able to see the battle with his spectacular vision.

"looks like the little man managed to free himself in someway, too bad he's no more then a bloody pulp. In a way I pity the poor son of a *****, forced to deal with this torment. Why did he have to embody my spirit? Why couldn't it have been a rat or dying man? At least that way he could continue on his little crime spree. Alas, I still chose a bad person, I figured he would have had fun with all this wonderful power. Instead he resisted my abilities and paid the price, he was always the rebellious type."

Dark Mist let out a sigh before continuing with its little rant, laced in sarcasm and its own mindless psychotic nature.

"Either way I'm sure he is hell bound even if he refused the art, but considering how this world is shaping I'm sure everyone is."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You don't have to die with me, kill me and run far away." Ray sobbed leaning his head on Amy's shoulder, burning himself on the glowing figure. "Just make it end, I don't care how..."
Wait...what did I do?

The dry, swaying lines that ran up and down Ryan's vision created a phantom illusion, a false sense of wonderment as he charged by them. They drifted back and forth, bending and twirling in his head as his eyes darted back and forth, independently trying to take them all in and somehow notice all the details, even as they rushed past, like so many specs of asphalt on a highway. A light glowed ahead, through the curtain of golden confusion, and he sprinted towards it, never slowing down but instead speeding up. Amy was there, and she was in trouble. He had to help her!

His mind barely registered a giant dome of gold forming above the golden swaying clouds and against the morning sky. He burst through the grass at full speed and then suddenly stopped, his body automatically freezing him in his tracks as unbearable heat, intense like the sun, struck his skin and his already painful burns. In his head, he was supposed to be moving forward, moving to Amy, but his body wouldn't let him, instead forcing him backwards onto the dirt. he scrambled for a moment, trying to regain control, then stood up, gazing in horror at the wall of light between him and them.

"No! No, no, no! You *****!" He screamed, a giant slab of goo erupting behind him and slamming against the dome. It burned away almost completely before it even struck, and whatever did hit simply simmered away. So he made a bigger slab. Then a bigger slab. "Amy! Amy! Let me in, dammit! Amy!" The strikes became harder and harder, slamming against the wall with increased vigor and violence. "Goddammit Amy don't do this! AMY!!! NO!!!" The ground beneath him churned and swirled, the grass behind him fell and swayed as it's roots were taken from under them. A massive wave of brown goo rose behind him like a tower, casting a shadow over the dome and blotting out the low morning sun.

The wave hovered for a moment, as Ryan breathed hard and stared at the hideous thing in there with Amy. It was Ray, but somehow wasn't. This thing was feral, wild, and utterly evil. It was not Ray, but rather some embodiment of him, the thing that had drove him mad. It was Ray's anger, hatred, and cruelty. It was Ray's demon. All the more reason to help Amy. This foe was stronger than any they had met before, and whether or not Amy could beat him was beside the point. Even if she didn't need Ryan to help her, Ryan needed Ryan to help her.

The tower of goo trembled violently and then arched over him, high into the air, bringing all it's weight and power with it. The colossal monolith came down like a title wave, slamming into the dome with the force of two hundred thousand furious freight trains.

And did nothing.

There was a flicker, like that of a waining candle or a faulty light bulb, but that was it. The goo burned and simmered and pushed against the wall of light, but to no avail. Ryan screamed to the heavens, more goo rising up around him and forcing itself against the wall, a giant mound of it surrounded him and pushed, but nothing happened. The goo simply burnt away, leaving just Ryan, standing at the edge of a climactic battle, an ultimate showdown of all-powerful wills, one that he had more stakes in than the world could ever know. And he could do nothing.

His knees buckled, and he fell to the ground, gazing in agony at the two figures inside. He couldn't leave, he couldn't abandon her, but he couldn't help either. He could do nothing. All he could do was watch. Sit there, like a dumb animal, and watch.

You... Used italics... Nevermind. xD

And Yorg- Ryan sounds like an abusive boyfriend! Shame on you!

Amy stared after Ray's comment. "You don't have to die with me, kill me and run far away." As he leaned against her, she found herself pulling away slightly. The thought hadn't even occurred to her- she had been caught within the moment, praying that some sort of divine intervention would intrude, and the group of them would leave this experience with little but scars and nightmares.

But Alex had died. Countless others, as well, the innocent bystanders and the crazed supers. Why would there be any other exceptions...?

With a soft sigh, Amy ran a hand through Ray's hair, pushing it away from his ruined face. "Go in peace, Ray. I hope I've at least done you some good by the end of this day."

The vision within her mind seemed to fade, dropping her unpleasantly back into reality. Her entire body ached suddenly, as though she had never noticed it before. She was worn from head to foot- and the feeling only grew worse as something collided with the dome.

She twisted to look over her shoulder. Ryan. Try as he may, the goo he summoned, simply too wrong the material, burned and melted away from her shield. The chunks that did strike made her flinch and moan.

"Ryan," she called softly, though the wind seemed to pick up her voice and carry it to him. "Ryan, Please- Please..." Amy tried to conjure a smile, despite the blood dripping down her neck and the strain on her face. Nevertheless, she smiled to him- an expression that she felt obligated to leave him with.

"I... lo-"

She winced suddenly, feeling slightly winded, her heart bearing a strange beat. It seemed as though her heart continued to skip beats at random intervals, thudding painfully against her chest as if to escape. Time was running out, she knew it. Struggling to stand upright, she turned away, toward Dark Mist.

Her smiled had shrunk to a grimace, but on she marched, toward the monstrosity. With every step a small footprint of Earth died, and her body burned more and more brightly. Then it began.

As though lit with some invisible fuel, her right hand seemed to catch fire, flickering far too strongly and emitting tendrils of golden gas. The other hand followed suit swiftly, then both legs. Walking stiffly toward Dark Mist, Amy took a deep breath, her tears evaporating before they could form.

"The end is ready." Too much... Too much...! MY HEAD...!

Damn, I'm getting all emotional right now.

I just want to say before the final clash happens I just want to say I love you all, each and everyone of you.
"The darkness has to die..." Ray cried falling backwards, now dead in his own mind. The room collapsed into the darkness, the mental dome began falling apart. There was no trace of shadow man left, only Dark Mist.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Time to die you fucking swine!" Dark Mist screamed as it's arms shifted into two enormous blades, monstrous in size. The smokey skin continued to bubble and steam, but something was different this time. With Ray now free of his torment the Mist actually felt pain, the searing heat of the light actually burned it rather then it's prisoner. The intensity of the light didn't not stop it though, it lunged itself forward swinging the blades trying to kill the one causing the pain.
