Damien turned and faced Ryan with sympathy. "I've faced pain. I have pain. My sister, the only person I ever loved in this whole damn, misbegotten world, was killed by a gang right in front of my eyes. I couldn't do a thing about it. Only afterwards did my powers awake. And you know what? I killed each and every one of the men who had a hand in the killing of my sister. I even killed my own abusive parents when they hurt my sister. I fell, Ryan. I fell hard. I was weak, and gave into the easy way. You're stronger than I am, Ryan, I know it. The only question is this: Will you prove me right, and overcome this, or will you fall as I did?"
I sorta had that idea when thinking of the 'Deadman' version of Ray, but I guess the 'Deadman' would have more control. This would sort of allow me to dive into the perspective of a broken man, along with giving Ryan someone to hate.
But yet again...I play crazy to well for my own liking.....So I'm stuck in an awkward position >_<
"Ryan" will be hating most everyone for a while, so that front is covered. As for you playing crazy too well, i think that's simply not true, unless of course it's beginning to reflect in your real life attitude. Then I'd be worried.
Perhaps we should see how well you can play a scarily normal person
She jolted forwards with such speed, taking a last gambit to her survival. It was better than waiting to die. She leaped, several large spike threatening to rise from the ground and skewer her with their razor-sharp points. She couldn't dodge forever though, she didn't need to, she needed to wait for the exact moment...
More rising icicles came up from the cracked ground, making her maneuvoring more and more tricky each time, and her timing more and more difficult to get right. But she saw an opportunity as she got a single glimpse of one of the frozen stalagmites in the perfect place. She took off towards it, stabbing the blade of one of her leg's bracers into its base and pushing forwards, the huge icicle snapping and falling towards its creator. If it didn't hurt, it would at least distract.
Sorry for the useless post, but should I wait for Xero's placeholder to be filled, or just go on? I was waiting for some kind of reaction, cause if Damien doesn't defend himself or run, well... he'll die. How long are placeholders valid?

Sadly, yes. I'm not even supposed to be on the computer, so I had to leave the placeholder there overnight. I nearly had the post done without a placeholder, but I nearly got caught and almost had the computer taken away. Sorry for any consternation, guys.

No, no, no. In fact, after reconsidering it I think bringing Ray back is a marvelous idea, since Ryan isn't aware of the whole "demon controlling him" deal. Plus, if Ray comes back as a good, or at least neutral guy(which I assume he is?), then it might provide an opportune chance for them to overcome their differences and form a powerful alliance. If Ryan's dark side can keep from ripping Ray's head off, that is.
I've got somewhere to go, so I'll post here after I get back, since I'm not sure how long the post will be and I don't wanna run out of time and have to cut it short. Be back around 10:00ish probly.
Very well, I shall bring back Ray as a neutral guy, seeing as he was still a street thug when he wasn't possessed. But I'll keep the Dark Mist aspect, have it be sort of like a voice in his head.
Crap, now I must make a new sheet. TO THE NUKE MOBILE!
Ryan simply stared with his head cocked to the side as Damien spoke, slowly beginning to nod, his grin widening. At the part about killing the gang members, and then his own parents, Ryan's head was wagging up and down vigorously, his eyes filled with glee. Black ooze continued to drip from his mouth, running down the sides of his chin and neck. The puddle of mud beneath him, which was now up around his ankles, quivered slightly as the ground under it moved.
"...You're stronger than I am Ryan, I know it. The only question is this: Will you prove me right, and overcome this, or will you fall as I did?"
The nodding stopped. Ryan froze where he was, not a muscle moving. For a moment, a brief, brief moment, the look in his eyes seemed to change. Over the course of several seconds, they almost looked like they got smaller, less wild, and a familiar light came into them. They seemed to stare off into space, even though they were looking directly at Damien. "Damien..." The freak's mouth moved mechanically as Ryan's voice stuttered out of it in an awkward manner, as if he were fighting to make the muscles move. "I fell. This... this is the bottom, and..."
"...and you need to get out."
Suddenly the eyes snapped back to reality, shining with predatory delight. The body relaxed, falling into a lop-sided slouch, the legs barely holding it up. Didn't matter though, as the mud he was standing in turned to gelatinous blackness and moved upwards, slowly beginning to envelope his body. A feral, snarling grin spread across his face, his tongue hanging out of his mouth, covered in black goo. "We've been through so much pain, you and I, how about a hug?" Instantly, the ground below them exploded into a million pitch black tentacles, completely filling the crater and grabbing at Damien to embrace him in the demented being's "hug". The thing that was Ryan laughed maniacly, disappearing backwards into the sea of writhing darkness.
As you see, I've stopped calling him Ryan. Also, his goo and his text have turned black. *dun dun dun* He's pretty much gone bat shit crazy(read: began his transformation into my new character). This is the part where we use the magic of writing to let Damien and Kris escape
I could control Damien if you want me to, but I think it would be better if you did it. This is still a battle, after all, even if it is pre-planned. He doesn't know he's gonna survive
Damien reacted instantly. "Shit!" He yelled, propelling himself upwards while slamming the goo into the ground. He launched several high-speed shots of gravity at Ryan, aiming for the arms and legs, not wanting to kill him. Damien stayed floating, knowing he was safest in the sky.
Scarcely had the tentacles been beaten down, when they shot back up again, en masse this time. So close together that they may as well have been one object, the millions of black ooze tentacles rebounded from the gravity slam, doubled in strength, and rushed upwards at the floating super, their tips morphing into all manner of blades, grasper's, fists, hammers, and scissors. Several even swung around the side and morphed into giant, bat wing-like nets, swooping in to trap Damien as their fellows did the dirty work.
As for the maniac, all the goo that was slowly enveloping his legs, arms and chest bulged outwards, taking on the consistency of high-velocity armor, absorbing the blows as the figure was knocked back several times. "Hahahaha! Yes, hit me! HIT ME!" He rocketed upward on his own personal tentacle, slamming his body against the surprised gravity bender at full force, then laughing hysterically as he descended back down into the sea of dark goo.
The attacking tentacles resumed their work as soon as he disappeared, grabbing at Damien's arms and legs, slashing at his throat, wrapping around his neck and chest, trying to suffocate him. More and more came at him, even as the others were slashed apart or blown away. The large gooey nets dropped form above, covering it all in layers of black, sticky goodness.
There was no telling how far down Ryan's body had gone, as the very ground in and around the crater was what was fueling the monstrous stuff that he controlled, but somewhere down there, buried in a void of swirling gelatinous blackness, there were shrill, wailing screams mixed with maniacle laughter. The goo, the inky darkness, slowly covered Ryan's entire body, wrapping around the arms and legs, sliding up his chest and converging around his neck, then finally morphing around his laughing head, a monstrosity of undulating blackness and ugly, dripping teeth slowly forming in the hidden recesses of the now unrecognizable crater.
terrible shot his hand the iceicle colliding creating a thunderous impact against his palm vaporizing the icicle into a pile of snow.
"you mean to kill me with my own attack?...sometimes I wonder why I hang out with you" terrible sighed shaking his head side to side.
"you know Cathy your almost like a fly with how you keep coming back to piss me off and like a fly you need to be squished" terrible laughed as he put his hand at an angle above Cathy before shooting a column of ice quickly going over Cathy's head before bringing it down on her.
"Oh holy mother of God!" Damien struggled not to die. He covered himself in gravity, making it akin to armor, then slammed into the ground. All the tentacles bounced off Damien, unable to pierce the intense gravity. Damien started slamming his fists into the barrier around Ryan. The gravity around Damien was so intense, each time his fist struck it looked like someone had blown 40 pounds of c-4 there. Lier just continued onwards, reaching for Ryan, the source of this madness.
The two strongest supers currently alive duking it out in anything goes combat. Holy shit this is gonna get good.
She thrust her hands up, a gun appearing in each. She pulled the triggers at the last second, reducing the middle of the descending ice block to powder, leaving a cove inside the icy prison.
She waited a moment, gathering her breath now that she had a chance, and feeling that somewhere nearby there was a great change in... something - something she couldn't quite place her finger on, when the frozen walls all around her started to pulse and change. She laid a hand on the wall, feeling the vibration and wondering. What's he doing?
Then, from the other side of the wall, she heard a woosh. She ducked down to the ground as a fireball went flying overhead, turning the top half of the hiding place into a cloud of steam.
She stood, picking her two pistols from the floor, and stepped over what was left of the block.
"So," Terrible began, his hands enveloped in flame and his voice thick with malice, "Ready to just give up and except death yet?"
"Heh. No, I've got a bit more to give. You?"
"Persistent to the end..." he chuckled weakly, as if to some inside joke between himself and a friend.
He pushed forwards with a giant blast of fire which narrowly missed the lithe superheroin, instead destroying the rest of the ice block. Catherine took her chance, firing several rounds at Terrible before he could continue his assault.

Two strongest supers, my arse. If anything the best fight and strongest supers so far are Aqua and Nuke (although, yeh, they both kinda died), then Cathy and Terry get second by sheer experience and nostalgia value of their fights. =P
