I have decided to bring Dark Mist back for the sequel, possibly even Ray in some shape or form. So there will still be the bad assery of a villian who can have their head chopped off and still run around, heh...
Two strongest supers, my arse. If anything the best fight and strongest supers so far are Aqua and Nuke (although, yeh, they both kinda died), then Cathy and Terry get second by sheer experience and nostalgia value of their fights. =P
I agree with Amy and DM/Ray, DM simply because he's, well... powerful, and Amy because she was the only one who could stop him.
But the other two, errr...
I hate to say it, but I think Cathy and Terrible, particularly Cathy, could be using their powers much better. I mean, she can imagine things into existence, but all she seems to do is imagine guns and shoot at him, to which he replies by throwing a fireball(I actually don't know what Terrible's powers are. He doesn't seem to have a sheet anywhere that I can find).
If her lack of super power awesomeness is because of some kind of creative limitation, like a copyright or something(lol), then I'm kinda surprised she's still alive, to be honest.
Outside Ryan and Damien's black battleground, the goo was spreading, extending it's tendrils into the earth and infecting it in all directions, both on the surface and deep underground, replacing the brilliant dome of light which had stood there only minutes before with a dome of hideous nightmare. Something had changed, the blackness was no longer something the master simply controlled, it was an extension of himself. He could feel it's pain as the small but powerful gravity bender hacked his way into the goo's depths, he could feel it's movements, it's swelling and expanding, it's dodging and diving, it's swirling and gyrating. But most importantly, he could feel it's touch.
The gargantuan mass of darkness continued to spread, now reaching nearly half a mile in diameter, consuming trees and grass and rocks and fences, the very goo itself latching onto them and transforming them into it's own.
********************
Inside the hideous, oozing madhouse, the goo continued to close in on top and around Damien as he plunged downward, blowing huge holes and gaps in the stuff as he slowly and methodically reached towards his goal. He was getting close now, as he could tell by the crazed laughing that filtered upward through the blackness. Blades and graspers continually had at him, but he beat them back, his stubborn nature not letting him back down.
********************
Black ooze slid and dripped off razor-like fangs, filling and expelling from the gaping maw again and again, as maniacle laughter burst it's way from somewhere deep in the throat. The creature's long, toothy head looked up, feeling the vibrations and concussions of the gravity bender's attacks, slowly making it's way towards him. The pain of each blow resonated through his entire being, and drove him absolutely wild with delight.
"Ahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaalright! Here we go!" The putrid, slimy voice cackled away as the goo was suddenly opened up before him, revealing to Damien the beast's true form.
Although it was slightly hard to tell where the body ended and the blackness surrounding it began, as they were made of the same goo, Damien could tell it was roughly eight feet tall, and seemed to still be growing steadily. It's huge, seemingly muscular body and limbs were vaguely humanoid, ending in long claws and talons. The elongated, utterly non-human head was comprised mostly of a huge, hideous maw of razor-sharp teeth, gooey and dripping with ugly blobs and webs. A long, black tongue covered in black slime hung out of it's vast grin, twirling this way and that with disgusting awareness.
"I'm ready for my hug!" The thing leaped upwards on a tower of goo, launching himself at Damien with a crazed roar of delight, it's fingers, hands and arms morphing into gigantic balls of spikes. At the same time, Damien was hit from behind by a half-circle of solid, black wall that forced him straight towards his attacker.
For further clarification on "the thing's" appearance, it's kinda like a bulked up version of Venom, except completely black(teeath and tongue included) and without the white eye spots and web pattern (Now that I think about it, I may have just unwittingly copied the entire concept of Venom. Dang). I had envisioned the head shape to be less round and humanoid, and more elongated like the Aliens from the Alien series, of which I'm sure you are all familiar.
And, of course, it's completely made up of the goo, so it morphs around, and undulates, and shape-shifts.
"Madness... is like gravity. All it needs is a little... push." ~
That quote really has nothing to do with the amount of insane people in this RP, I was just looking for an excuse to use it. (Xero, if Damien ever goes insane, I suggest using that line. It shall be prefect.)
I never actually thought up an origin for Ryan's powers, so now's my chance to think one up and reveal it in S2. Something about a radioactive oil spill(joking!).
Damien's eyes opened wide as he saw the spikes heading towards him. He threw his upper torso backwards, causing him to flip, avoiding the spikes by inches. He then powered his flip with gravity, increasing the speed. He slammed his foot into Ryan's back and watched as ryan plummeted to the ground. Right before Ryan hit the ground, Damien appeared right below him, extending his knee. Ryan fell right on it and bent double, crushed by the forces. Damien moved his knee back, then used it as a spring to fuel his punch, with which he sent Ryan into the ground, creating a crater. Damien reformed the gravity around him and charged Ryan, wanting to get into a close quarters all-out brawl, where he knew he would win. "What happened to you, Ryan? Is this what you really want? Is this what Amy would have wanted? She sacrificed herself for you! She gave her life to end Dark Mist, so you could be happy! And look at you! I can't tell the difference between you and Dark Mist! Show me the real Ryan!"
Hacking laughter spewed from the monster's mouth as it was struck repeatedly, then sent crashing into the goo far below it. "Haha! You're so violent, I love it! It got to it's feet, tendrils of blackness forming around it, and seemed to cracked it's neck. "This is so much fun, I wish you had done this a-" it's voice was cut off as it heard Amy's name.
"... long time ago." Suddenly the voice grew heavy, thick, as if being spoken through a mile of swamp water. "You bastard."
Two huge masses of goo struck Damien from both sides, halting his charge just yards away from the monster. The stuff swiftly enveloped the man, almost as soon as it made contact, completely covering every inch of his body except his head. It hardened to the consistency of rubber or ballistics gel, and kept growing, even as a hundred bladed tentacles swung down and pointed their deadly tips towards his face. The inside of the casing began forming into thousands of tiny points, jabbing at the gravity bender just enough to hurt like hell.
"You fucking bastard. You would use her against me." It said, rising up until it's hideous, undulating face was mere inches from Damien's. "You don't know the Pain she's caused me. You'll never know. This isn't what she died for, you're right, but all that means is that she died for nothing. She died for NOTHING!" As it yelled drops of black wetness flew from it's mouth and splattered on Damien's face. The goo tightened around him, squeezing his body as if it was trying to make them pop, and forcing the little points into his skin like a million thumbtacks.
"She killed herself, she died and left me here, alone. With freaks like you, who would try to use the one person that I loved the most against me like some tool. You're pathetic." It backed away, a wicked grin on it's face. "You're nothing Damien. Nothing. You're just a pussy with some nifty tricks. You can't even KILL ME!"
It laughed, throwing it's head back and waving it's disgusting tongue around in the air. "You could if you wanted to, oh I'm sure you could, but you won't! Because you're weak! You're a weak, pathetic little spec of shit, and now you're gonna die like one!" It's lowered it's head once more, gazing at Damien with unbridled murderous lust, and raised its hand. The goo morphed into a grand goblet covered in intricate and terrible images. "Here's to hoping, that in you're final minutes, you finally discover the true meaning of Pain. Goodbye, Damien!"
With a screeching howl and a wild fit of laughing, the thing fell backwards and disappeared into the goo.
The entire mass of goo, now almost a mile wide, began to converge on Damien at it's center. It's atoms condensed as it pressed inward, hardening and molding together as it pushed towards it's middle. Hundreds of feet of super-condensed goo were slowly closing in on the gravity bender, and it kept getting thicker and denser.
****************
Outside, about fifty yards from the huge globe of squeezing death, a small black spot appeared on the ground. It steadily grew, veins of it writhing outwards and contaminating the earth. Over the course of the next few seconds it grew to a span of nearly ten feet, at which point the hulking, black shape of Pain emerged from it, slowly slinking his was onto the soft dirt.
Cackling softly, the brute's head rose and he gazed at the dark, impenetrable torture ball he had created. Deep inside, somewhere, the gravity bender was dieing a slow, painful death as he was crushed into utter nothingness. Even if he used his powers, he would only kill himself. The pressure inside that air-tight space would reach astronomical levels within minutes.
Satisfied that his foe was bound for a horrifying death, Pain turned to the forests and fields, gazing out across them and wondering where the other one was. Soon it became clear, as the sound of someone running through the tall grass caught his attention. A feral grin split his head, his tongue lolling out and licking the air.
*****************
In the darkness of the rainstorm and the thick grass, Kris couldn't have seen the tiny black tendril that slithered along the ground behind him, not until it was too late. With a quick motion, it shot up and wrapped around his right upper thigh, twisting it brutally and sending him sprawling into the dirt. A dozen more gaspers morphed out of the ground and latched on to him, holding him upside down in the air and bouncing him around playfully as a huge, black figure appeared out of the darkness.
"Where were you going in such a hurry, little puppet?"
It's about time for that interruption we discussed, so keep Damien inside the bubble, if you please. This is the part where the heroes get a lucky break and escape.
IF Grim would just post. He hasn't posted since the 2nd. How long should I wait before enacting some CC? We did have something planned out already, so it wouldn't be too detrimental to him...
terrible quickly swept his hand upwards in attempt to shield his face creating a ice block in the exact shape of himself standing stock still with his arms at his sides the facial features and suit patterns down to near exact detail.
"holy crap you could have killed me...again, well thank the gods I was able to make this guy" terrible smiled patting his hand on the ice sculpture of himself accidentally breaking it in two.
"awww I liked that guy terrible said with a depressed look on his face before immediately switching to a almost insane smile.
"hey wait I can make another" terrible smiled creating another ice stature of himself "awww he looks lonely" terrible laughed before creating another ice sculpture of himself followed by another soon making at least 50 ice sculptures of himself all of them in the same pose.
"hey Cathy you gotta check this out" terrible shouted from amongst the crowd of his ice sculptures himself being almost impossible to tell apart from them.
It was almost impossible to tell the sculptures apart from the creator except for the fact that Terrible was moving, breathing and made of flesh. He hadn't been getting any smarter since their last fight, obviously.
"Well Terry," Catherine feigned, "You've confused me here. Guess I'm going to have to search through every single one of you." She wrapped her fingers around a small sphere, chuckling to make her intent known. Not that she expected Terrible to be able to notice from behind his 'army'. She pulled the pin from the grenade and chucked the explosive into the mass of icy clones.
"Think fast," she said, raising her hands in front of her, forming a large shield, as the grenade clattered noisily into a small niche in the ground.
I wasn't intending to use a grenade, but I really have to punish you for hiding behind a bunch of ice clones and claiming them to look the same as a person. Similar? Yes. Enough to confuse another person? Not so much.
terrible looked down at the grenade a small distance away from him. "your just gonna blow them all up that`s not very nice I worked hard on those guys you-" terrible was cut off by the grenade exploding sending him flying backwards into the dirt his suit slightly singed at the front. "it`s always gotta be guns and explosives with you why not a poison or mech or something" terrible groaned as he got up the shards of ice from his sculptures raining around him. "you know I had a sneaking suspicion you`d do something like that" terrible smiled looking up at the snow of ice bits before looking back at Cathy a uncharacteristically happy smile on his face.
"your not scared of needles are you" terrible laughed twirling his fingers in the sky the pieces of ice slowly stopping in mid-air and growing into large needles all of them aimed at Cathy in all directions terrible let out a small chuckle before opening his hand the needles staying suspended around Cathy .
"goodbye my annoying adversary may the next life treat you kinder than I ever did....well I doubt hell would be that nice" terrible spread a evil smile across his face before closing his hand the needles all suddenly shooting towards Cathy at a frightening speed.
Don't worry, Grim has given me permission to control Kris, so my part should be over soon. Just not today, cuz I'm gone all day, at friend's houses and classes.
Well, fortunately with all the given time I have thought of my next Char! And yes, he is in fact evil(ish)!
Name: Kenji Daichi
Appearance: Kenji looks similar to the stereotypical Japanese punk rocker, which is reflected in his clothing and his own trends. He is no taller then 5'7 and has a slim build. His hair is black and jelled up, so much jell that it appears to be rock solid. Covering a large deal of his arms and the top half of his chest, he has a wide variety of tattoos, ranging from simple tribal designs to a dragon that covers his back. What he wears is the definition of trashy, a bright red jacket worn over a dirt gray shirt. His blue jeans have scratches around the knees and have been faded, but then again that is pretty common now a days. To top it all of he wears a pair of tinted aviators, a bright orange tint to be exact.
That's right, Travis Touchdown.
Powers: Kenji has the ability to summon a veil of blue energy and manipulate to his will. Whether it be to make a sword, a shield or a blast of energy, it can be done, only limited by his own imagination. Being hit by the energy his an experience that one will never forget, as it seems to burn and freeze at the same time. The energy of veil it just as plentiful as the energy exhibited in it's hyperactive user, never seeming to run out of power at any given moment.
The energy has given him a few miscellaneous abilities as well, having no connection to blue power but still proving to be useful, and sometimes hilarious. He can in fact teleport over short distances, but rarely when he wants to. If he is drinking or fooling around he can teleport at random, resulting in some very awkward cases involving the cops. Other that he exhibits strength, agility, endurance, and speed higher then what is to be expected from someone his size, though by no means super.
Bio: The story of Kenji is rather bland, if not humorous one, until he got his powers at seventeen. He was raised in Tokyo by his mom and dad, being born into a middle class family living the big city life. Needless to say he was kind of an ass for the most of his life, the kind of guy who would shout at the clerk at the fast food joint for getting his order wrong. His habits only got worse when he entered high school, when he grew to think that he was better then everyone else. He would drink and party, living what he called the "Good life" up until he was seventeen...
While at friends house he said something incredibly stupid, this being an insult about a gang leader who happened to be at the party. After the party he was returning home when the gang leader and his goons backed him into an alley, intent on killing the stupid Kenji. In an act of desperation he picked up a wooden stick and threw himself into the group, when the energy began to spark from his body. He felt a surge of power, and soon the the attacker were no more. After the event the local police were called to the scene, only to find Kenji sitting down against a pile of charred skeletons. He told the cops to "Fuck off", they didn't hesitate.
Ever since then Kenji has decided to explore the world, party and get into sweet fights, continuing to live the "Good Life". His attitude of being a complete asshat hasn't changed much, but he has grown to be a smooth talker when there are ladies around.

Mechs and poison? Ha. Terry had no idea what her powers were capable of, even after all this time.
But to be fair, neither did she.
All she knew of her power all those years ago was guns, it moved to explosives, shields and swords. But it never really went beyond there. She'd never actually experimented with the limits of her power until she had to summon up that machine, the digger. And she had indeed summoned the prison they were now confined in with little effort, so why was she not using other things? Why was it only guns and explosives? Was she afraid to unlock her power and see its true potential unleashed? What could she be afraid of? Turning into Ray, someone so obsessed with their power that it consumed them?
No. This was no time for fear. This was time for action. She had allowed Terrible to live for so long... Too long. And now he must die.
"What did you say to me when I asked you what your purpose was?"
Terrible folded his arms and the needles stopped instantly, hanging just in front of Catherine. He looked to be concentrating a moment, casting his mind back to the moment they met one another. Needless to say, he had forgotten long ago.
She chuckled, "You said that the crime rate was too low to be a hero. Remember? You said that you wanted to send people out in a shower of lights," she sighed, almost as if she was sentimental of their first conflict, "But what I never truly understood was that you always seemed to show a shred of... subtle ingenuity in doing so. As if you always had a plan ready for whatever happened, win or lose. And the light show just kept coming. But I wonder, what is your plan now?" She uttered these last words and a small grin crept its way across her usually expressionless face and her eyes had glazed over, now mirroring Terrible's own gaze.
She wasn't going to stick to her guns. No. She could bend space to her will, or her imagination at least, she could do something he would never expect. She shifted from one leg to the other, waving in front of a needle that hung just in front of her face in midair.
"What are you waiting for? Kill me already. I need to die."
Terrible paused for a moment. "What is this? Some stupid mind screw like reverse psychology? Because it won't work Cathy. Not by a long shot." He lifted a single finger and pointed it forwards, a needle darting in to stab Catherine. And she... didn't react. At all. The needle disintegrated mere millimetres from her, a small flame visible at the point of contact.
"Terrible. Did you ever think I'd let you walk away from this fight alive?" She started walking backwards, and Terrible began to laugh.
"I should never have taken a chance. I shouldn't have left you to get killed by David. I should have fed you to him myself."
The madman stopped laughing long enough to look at the super walking way from him and... she wasn't all there anymore. She was summoning something, the prison they were trapped in beginning to warp and bend into strange angles at every point, the walls turning from their smooth metal to an organic material that she easily pushed her way through.
The organic mesh started to reform into its metallic construct, this time complete with several jagged attachments that threatened to cut Terrible to pieces.
"I'm sorry it had to come to this..."
With those words the construct began to contract and Catherine stepped from the structure's solidifying form, the outside world's various sensory delights flooding back to greet her after her voluntary entrapment.
I have a feeling you'll find fault with something here terribleyetfun so if you do just PM me.
If not, have fun with your crushing doom. If you find no way out of it, I'll gladly give you a plan. But it won't end well for you.
Kris reacted quickly, sending a blast of air outward from his body and falling to the ground as the tentacles were pushed off him. Cringing at the pain in his badly twisted leg, he got to his feet and prepared to lift off, but the ground beneath him was suddenly around his knees.
"No, no, no, no, no. You aren't going anywhere unless I say you can." The beast said amusedly, wagging it's huge, clawed finger back and forth as the air-bender struggled in the pit of goo he had just been dropped into. Tendrils and blobs reached up around him and held him down, wrapping his arms behind his back and slithering around his neck.
"You were running because you wanted to help your little friends over there, weren't you?" The thing said, getting on all fours and leaning down close to Kris, it's chin on it's hands in a hideous mockery of a curious young child. Patting the sides of it's face, it looked at the man for a few moments, as if trying to decide what Kris was.
"Why would you risk yourself like that for something so hopeless, hmmm? One of them is already dead, you know. The crazy one, that Ryan fellow. Pity really, he was such a passionate soul. You probably don't mind though, I don't think you two liked each other very much."
Kris snarled, lunging forward and pushing against the goo that restrained him. Desperately, he started shooting burst of air out in any direction he could, but the close proximity of the goo wouldn't let the blasts gain any power. After about half a minute of struggling, he fell back, panting, and shooting daggers out of his eyes.
"You don't know anything about us, freak. Ryan and I had our differences, and our competing interests, but we were still friends. Bound in blood. We would have died for each other."
"Mmmmhmmm. I wonder. Anyway, your other friend, the gravity bender, might still be alive. He's over there, slowly being crushed to death, if you want to help him." Pain stood up, looking over his shoulder at the beautiful black dome in the distance. "Do you want to help him?"
"I want to kill you first." There was a blue flash underneath the goo as Kris' sword appeared i his hands. A burst of wind around his arms freed them just enough for him to swing them forward, slicing through the goo like jello as the air flow built up behind him, sending him rocketing out of the ground and up at the freak, sword stabbing forward.
Pain simply reached up an arm and grabbed the man around the waist, grinning at his expression of shock as the sword sliced off half the lower jaw, revealing nothing but goo inside before it quickly reformed. "That wasn't one of the options."
"Go save your friend, little puppet!" Before Kris could react he had been flung high in the air, performing a magnificent arc over the grassy fields below him. He landed hard on top of the huge, dark, undulating dome. It's surface was slippery from the rain that continued to pour down around him, creating a gray wall everywhere beyond thirty feet.
He got to his knees and placed one hand against the smooth, black surface. He could tell that with his powers he wouldn't be able to break through this. It was compacted to the point of being nigh-unbreakable by anything, even Damien's gravity powers. He wouldn't even be able to shove a knife into it, the atoms were so close.
There a was snickering laugh and a squelching noise as Pain slowly rose from the dome about twenty feet away. Kris looked up with a dark fire in his eyes, then stood as well, facing his opponent across their wet, monotoned battlefield.
"He's in there, being killed, if you want to try and save him." Pain said with a laugh. The blackness below him seemed to vibrate with him.
Kris said nothing, staring darkly at the monster as raindrops ran down his forehead and dripped off his nose. He wouldn't give this animal the pleasure of his conversation. Instead, he simply summoned his pistols, a blue flash of flame enveloping each hand as he raised them up and started firing, curving the air around the bullets to make sure they hit their target. At the same time, he lifted off the ground on a cushion of wind, rising quickly through the falling rain.
The bullets had little effect on Pain though. They embedded themselves in his goo and stayed there harmlessly, before being expelled after a few seconds. The monster looked up into the gray blanket continually falling over him, searching it for his adversary. He could have easily gone up there himself, but it was more fun this way.
"So that's it I see. You're just going to leave, and abandon your friend? What about killing me? You seemed so intent on that, it would be a pity if you just gave up..." He grinned as a loud whooshing sound was heard, and the air bender's plan was revealed.
Down out of the rain came Kris, riding like a cowboy a meteor of wind. The giant mass was only visible because of the rain it displaced, but that was enough. Just before Pain slid back down into the dome, it came crashing down and struck the smooth surface with the force of a landing space shuttle.
****************
Inside, the only evidence of the battle outside was a resounding boom that shook everything around Damien, and if anything only made him feel worse. The walls and spikes were closing in on him, the tiny space getting smaller and smaller. Already his legs were trapped, and nothing he could do would free them. He had tried.
And the air pressure, oh god. He was sure his ears were about to explode. The pain was unbearable.
****************
Kris stood in the smooth little crater he had formed, no more than an indentation on the dome's surface. His gigantic attack had done nothing. Looking around bitterly, he desperately cursed everything. Damien was in there, somewhere, dying. Maybe he was already dead.
"Dammit you freak, where are you!" he yelled, swiveling around and staring into the darkness around him. "You think you can kill my friends and then leave?!?! Come out and fight me!"
"Actually, the gravity bender is still alive." Pain emerged from the goo right underneath Kris, lunging upwards and grappling the man to the ground. Then with a laugh he hurled the man across the slippery surface of the dome. As soon as Kris came to a halt the goo came up to meet him, wrapping around him and trapping him just as before.
"You seem so angry, Kris. Why is that? Is it because you've finally realized how weak you are? How hopeless you are? How hopeless everything is? Pain said eerily, slowly walking up to the trapped super. "After all this time of being the big shot, you've finally discovered what it's like to be nothing. To have nothing. You used to be so great, with your guns and your hair, and your wonderful charm. But now you're a weak, hopeless wreck." The beast's tongue whipped through the air playfully as he reached Kris, standing in front of him as the goo lifted Kris up to eye level.
"Who the fuck are you." Kris said darkly, staring at the thing with cold eyes.
"That depends. What are you most afraid of?"
Holy shit. Sorry to postpone the end even further, but I have other things I need to do. >.>
I promise I'll get this over with in a maximum of two more posts. I got class tonight though, so it might not be till tomorrow. On the bright side, you guys get more time to plan your new characters! Isn't that great?
terrible looked back and forth the dome slowly moving towards him from all sides.
"no your not your just as filled with bloodlust as I am don`t try and hide it embrace it" terrible yelled as Cathy exited the dome before looking around and assessing his situation before he came up with what was almost a rough sketch of an idea in his head the expression on his face changed from his usual stare of malice to a more serious and determined one as he spread his feet shoulder width apart and shooting his arms out to his sides as he began to summon a wall of ice around himself the spikes on the domes surface digging into it.
"HA nothing can bring me down as long as the winds blow as long as the waters flow and as long as the fire burn I`l never die" terrible shouted as he started drawing water from the air and from the grass at his feet in order to boost the strength of his ice wall almost stopping the dome's advance inward.
"now for part two of my brilliant idea" terrible laughed as he slowly started raising his hands upwards the wall of ice slowly moving upwards taking the dome along for the ride. "yes, yes, yes it`s working no stopping me now" terrible continued to raised the dome slowly supporting it with a another wall of ice and carving away a small hole at one side as a doorway to the outside.
"it was a good idea whilst it lasted Cathy and I applaud you willingness to actually kill me for once but I`m sorry I can`t accommodate your desire to see me crushed because I`ve got more important business to attend to" terrible took in one last breath of air before creating one final push sending the dome upwards another two feet before making a run for the doorway but before he could make it all the way the ice started to give way and the doorway began to collapse. Terrible was too far to give up that easily so he continued running towards the ice wall hoping to get to it before the dome came crashing back down he pounded his feet against the ground running as fast as he could possibly go the adrenaline and will to stay alive pushing him to his limits, the dome was almost at the ground but in what was only a stroke of luck terrible managed to break through the wall of ice he created just in time and move outside, the cool air brushing up against him as he hit the ground with a thud.
"HA so much for your final solution but once again I have beaten you" terrible said in between heavy breaths and wiping the sweat from his brow as he stood outside feeling almost triumphant of his getting outside.
