Or things you found yourself liking which you thought would never happen.

I just recently watched North & South, this BBC miniseries. I was really skeptical when I started watching it (in fact, I only gave it a shot because there were so many raving reviews for it), as I'm not really a romance fan, but I ended up (surprisingly) loving it to pieces.
I think I might've even turned into a romantic, which is surprising, let alone a little depressing.

Srsly, damn you Brits and your awesome love stories.

Hm... can't really think of a time that's happened, honestly.

I can think of plenty of times when I thought I would like something, only to find that I hated it.
Most recently would be Requiem for a Dream.
Thought I would love it given all the praise I've heard from it.
Ended up hating it for being overly disturbing and pretentious without a point.

So I have the amazing ability to hate movies that have been recommended to me too much.

My ability to play an instrument.

In school, I couldn't even get a coherent string of notes out of a keyboard. 4 years later, I'm playing bass in my band and can play a guitar, drum and sing at a pinch.

I don't get hangovers. Believe me, I've tried. I checked with my dad, and he doesn't get them either. So, uh...

I'm surprisingly suave when I'm drunk, doesnt matter if they're sober or not but if I'm drunk I actually become quite charming.

I have a strange innate resistance to medication. It just doesn't work most of the time, and when I get sick, doctors are frustrated when they run out of pills to throw my way.

The only way I could be noticed less by everyone around me is if I was invisible... I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing yet.

From the people that I actually know, I'm surprisingly the only Asian that actually likes anime.

Why don't you try hiding in a girl's, or male's, locker/changing room?

A girl was going to be attacked and I helped her. Everyone says "You don't know what you will do in that situation", I'm happy I did the right thing.

I have moments where I can instantly think of witty comebacks to everyone's comments. Seriously, I'll have a 10 minute period where it's just zinger after zinger... and then it goes away. I really need to pace myself.

This is a render of an environment I am lighting, currently in a rough state. The textures and geometry are finished.

Inspired by the OP surprise love of a TV show:

It turns out Im a big fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I ignored the show through its entire run dismissing it as a stupid TV cash in on a shitty movie.
I decided to give it a chance a couple months ago, and then I couldnt stop watching it. I dont even know why I like it. I feel like I shouldnt, but the characters are just so damn endearing and the humour is spot on.

I thought the point was pretty simple

drugs are bad

sure not enitrely profound or original but its there

anyway what I liked was that they didnt just show one side of drugs , you know troubled young people and all that

but another, probably overlooked side, the "legal" side of drugs, as in patients abusing perscription medication and indifferent doctors just giving them pills and shoving them out the door, it showed how a sweet old lady like sarah could also get into the downward spiral of drug addiction jsut like her son and as I said before I image this was overlooked at the time or even now

as for surprising qualities about myself..... well do have an artistic side though thats hardly surprsing to anyone who knows me
