Survey Reveals What the "Perfect" Male and Female Body Should Look Like

Let me just pipe in and say that the perfect female body according to women is much more in line with my taste than what the men think it should be. The perfect female 'according to men' is clearly based of porn stars with implants and various other cosmetic surgeries.

As for the perfect male body.... well the one according to men looks like a steroid infused mutant who is so top heavy he looks like he might fall over.

What? Nothing about the buttox?

That's like, one of the most important parts of a woman for me. This survey is bullshit!

Also, Megan Fox's face? No thanks.

pfft, the perfect man would have the body of a football(soccer) player covered with a nice coat of hair and have a grizzly beard. Get the fuck outta here with those shaved bodies, needs more hair.
You have no idea how glad I am to hear you- a random stranger on the internet- say that.

It's all very well hearing my GF or female friends or mother saying it, but y'know, it's difficult to take them at their word because they've got a vested interest in my happiness.

Also what about the other half of the body- the back half!

Dem backs and butts.

What this proves to me is that the expected effect of perfect body stereotyping stereotyping has been internalised.
According to these results men seem to crave a slightly chunkier, but healthy, girl while aspiring to be Marcus Fenix. Women want to be the size zero waif while desiring a more naturally athletic man. Most of us desire a healthy natural form in our partners (which is good) while setting unreasonable goals for ourselves (which is not.)

Am I off base?

Hmm, as long as the guy has a good amount of hair and isn't a complete shag rug, then having hair everywhere is a-ok in my book. The shaved look is fine with me, but the rough hairy look is way better.

Apparently perfect people are white.

Good to know.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed. That, among a great many other things about those pictures, makes me feel rather uncomfortable.

Anyway, it is kind of telling. Men like curves but media has warped the body expectations of women, so they think the ideal woman is a stick and the men have gone for a chunkier, larger boobed woman. Women seem to love straight hair and men like curvier.

Should be a self esteem boost to curvy women!

On the other hand, guys and gals seem to have the same idea about the perfect guy is like ... the only significant difference is women like head hair, just lots of hair on the face and head.
That's exactly what I was thinking about the ideal male body! There was next to no difference between the two except for the smaller muscles.

The views of women are pretty much in line with my own experience. I'm a stick figure without any curves. In fact, I'm extremely self-conscious about it because guys' heads turn toward voluptuous women and they pass on us skinny girls.

One time, my friend and I (my friend being 5'3", somewhat thin, and with natural 36Ds) went to Subway for lunch. The guys behind the counter were totally oogling and fawning all over her. As soon as she paid and went to grab a table, theose guys literally started talking to the girl in line behind me, who was blonde, skinny, and also had big boobs. I actually had to ask them to come back and ring up my order because I was a ghost to them.

It's strange how so many people tell me that I should be a model (I used to be) because I'm very close to 6' tall and really thin. But a majority of guys don't go for that.

My fashion and style icon has always been French singer Françoise Hardy because my body is identical to hers in so many ways. Strong chin, pointy shoulders, slim hips, skinny as a rail. She was the most-photographed woman in the world until Madonna came along.

I share the disgusted horror that seems to be this thread's hallmark, and I wonder if I might not have, had someone had gone over those images digitally to blend skin tones and proportions more correctly.

What do you mean by "chunkier?" How much heavier in pounds or kilograms would you estimate the woman on the right is than the woman on the left?

I wonder if that has anything to do with the amount of effort required to achieve those two hair styles. I personally have no awareness of how hair works, so that's just a question, not a suggestion.

Models are always skinny 'cos they impact the clothes less, a woman with large breasts will put huge lumps in the front of the clothes and if a designer wanted lumps there he would have put them there (and knowing how fucking stupid fashion is, they probably already have). With skinny models your shoulders and head are a coat hanger, the rest of you is just there to move the clothes.

Which is why I think the whole "model" thing is less about beauty and more about being a mannequin.

I used to have a killer fast metabolism, I was always described as a string with knots in, till I slowed it all the way down ... not intentionally but I stumbled across the idea that pasta is DIRT cheap to buy and sauce (for constantly different flavor) was always on sale, so I would eat 3KG of pasta in about 5-7 days. I would eat a huge pan full before bed and not be hungry all the next day, I very quickly put on weight. I'm by no means obese but I am losing it now so, yippie!

So if you want to put on weight that is one way, not that I am saying you should or anything. Plenty of people find the tall and skinny look attractive, it's why you see so many in music videos. Even people who prefer curvy women aren't put off by tall and skinny, it's just when they look anorexic guys get turned off.

JimB said:
If there are two things I am awful at is weight and hair! As for guessing how much more the lady on the right is, no fucking idea, couldn't even hazard a guess!

As for hair, I have this thing called testosterone ... it prevents me from giving a shit about my hair. If I can grab my hair between two fingers it's too long and will be shaved off shortly. Nothing annoys me more than guys gelling, styling and "fixing" their hair, like a preening bird (not being sexist, I mean the feathered, flying things ... this next bit is more sexist).

Women are the ones that make themselves pretty, I'm not saying they have to but they are the ones with make up that costs an unbelievable amount, specially formulated hair products and always buying clothes/shoes. Not saying guys shouldn't care or not put some effort into looking smart but I think there is a line that too many men have crossed.

I find a bit weird that so many people are saying that they find the results unnatractive, no fucking shit, its a copy paste of body parts, of course it will look terrible, its just there to give a better visual idea of what the survey represented.

maybe it would work better as a silhouette

Glad to know that the ideal woman looks like a big-breasted fashion model spliced with a bit of giraffe DNA.
It'll be of immense help when I design my Morpheus Somno-Penitentiary system. (protip: never leave Minority Report running on auto-play all night while you sleep. It does freaky shit to dreams.)

So i guess this shows both men and woman want unrealistic versions of each other and go by what the media say we should be like.

This seems like a horrible way to discern this

It's more like a joke. There's no way they thought picking the body parts of celebrities would give them any real, useful, or accurate data. This is not a scientific survey, it is not meant as a scientific survey, why is the article treating it as such?

If anyone reading is taking the results seriously, what's wrong with you? Do you think asking random people their favorite celebrity body parts will give us good information?

It's very clearly a marketing stunt, take it as such.

No, this can't be right? Badly photoshopped pieces of body?

So, if I killed all of these celebrities, and stitched their bodies together, then everyone will either gaze at them in awe and/or want to sleep with the body?

Also I think Brad Pitt is much more sexy than either of those guys.
I think all they proved is that they have trouble doing surveys on anyone over the age of 13.

OT: This is a classic example of people saying what they don't really mean, it has to be.

Much like the fact that if you ask someone what kind of coffee they prefer, they'll likely reference some kind of dark roast, black. People say this because they think it is what other people want them to say.
