I tried sushi when I was in Korea(yes, I know it's Japanese) and it was one of the few foods from that part of the world I still ate afterwards. It's much better than cow's blood soup and kimchi.

To begin with, sushi doesn't always contain raw fish. Sashimi is always raw fish, not sushi. Also, the problem with this thinking is that it's actually less of an issue for raw fish. Fish is naturally salty, and inhibits the growth of any nasties that will make you sick far better than any other kind of meat (for a time anyway).
