I don't know if I'm more disturbed by these false allegations or the people who feel he "deserved it" for messing with corrupt and secretive nations
i don't think anyone's saying he deserved it, just that something like this could be expected with the business he's in.
Oh he deffinatly deservied it only because I think he actully deluded himself into thinking he was not going to faces cconsequences for his actions and that he was immune to Us replisal and I think its hilarios how wrong he is. Just becaus eht eU.S gov is in the wrong(witch they are some of the time) does not mean that he is in the right.
how the hell can you think its right for governments to collude in destroying a man and company who have done nothing illegal? seriously what is wrong with you people.

aside from your complete inability to spell properly anyway? seriously invest in a spellchecker.
Sorry it generally do have a spell checking program but at the time I was posting this I was on a different comp. When it comes down to it in my opinion Illegal does not really matter. Assangue has dealt damage to the US government in a way that they feel is unacceptable and now they are damaging him back it is really is that simple

now we can debate the right and the wrong of that all day but in my experience when you hurt someone they tend to want to get even. if hes not a moron he knew that this was how it was going to end for him and prepared for it. If he had no idea this was going to happen then my above statement would apply.
so lets say someone deletes everything on my computer (or does something else legal but damaging to me), its cool for me to just go round and beat the shit out of them or do whatever else to get revenge? no of course that would be ridiculous, so why do we accept that its fine for a government to do it? seriously really think about why that is acceptable behaviour to you. this is how totalitarian dictatorships act, not democratic nations.

im pretty sure he does know that this sort of thing can happen, he spent years creating encryption systems to help people who have to work in places like china and north korea where this shit is pretty common place. id imagine he just didn't expect it from america and certainly didn't expect the rest of the world to just sit by and let it happen.
first of all nations act to protect themselves, this is true no matter what type of government it is under. 2ndondly Im not talking about what is moral or ethical im talking about the reality of the situation. Is it right for the government to arrest assangue and throw him in jail forever no probibly not, will that stop them no not for a second.

Your above annalogy makes sence but it not entirly accurate since unlike the US government you do not wield enormous power and are not the care taker for hundreds of millions of people.

im not disagreeing with you man im just callin it as I see it
so surely since the US gov has all that power it should have far more responsibility than me not to act like a monstrous petty (lets not forget what these documents have done is essentially embrass a bunch of countries by exposing them as the lying back-biting incompetants they are, there is no terrorist threat from it because the documents are redacted to ensure that) psychopath. obviously im being an idealist but what happened to great power = great responsibility? or does shouting TURRISTS whenever you want to misbehave excuse it?

legitimate governments are supposed to protect themselves from legitimate threats through legitimate means. groups like the UN and NATO are meant to enforce that. china gets away with fucking with its own people and making tibet its ***** because if it stops making stuff for us we're completely fucked, north korea gets away with starving its people to death and occasionally throwing a load of ordanance south because they're heavily armed and totally psychotic. america seems to be falling into the later category complete with the brainwashed populace feverently supporting their every drunken crazy bullying swing.

fine in reality i should expect this from a country that sold drugs to its own people to fun terrorists, went to war with the psychopathic leader it elected over oil twice and continues to fund israels state sponsored terrorism (note; i don't support the actions of palestinian militants but neither do i think indiscriminantly shooting missiles back at them an bullying their civilians is a good idea either.) but does that mean is shouldn't be utterly disgusted by it and expect the rest of the world not to just go along with it?

and where you you hail from I am curious where are the more civilised countrys(that actully have real power), The U.N is a joke but not here to argue that and what is NATO when its members quarel amonst themselves. Legitmate threat are in the eye of the beholder. My country has done some represhensible things in its history but I would like to think much good has come from its existance as well.

All countrys have dirty laundry that they cannot have come out if they want to maintain a state of stability. The subject matter of the leaks is not what angers the gov but the leaks themselves are what angers it and they fact that one man can lead an army of hackers aginst it(this might not be the case but it is how they see it) to ferret out its secrets it to the world and hurt it on a global level is deffinatly a legimate threat. ps the U.S gov is not spiderman not by any stretch of the imagination
the phrase with great power comes great responsibility predates spiderman by quite some time.
im from the UK, id like to think we'd be less accepting of this kind of shit from our government, maybe not though. the UN seems to do just fine when it comes to sanctions against african or middle eastern countries. hackers had nothing to do with it, it was an army private who felt that it was important for people to see what america was hiding about their actions in iraq and their attitude to the rest of the world. maybe if countries weren't allowed to keep their dirty laundry secret and had to face some reprecussions for their actions the world might be a bit better. maybe things like wikileaks and others like them will help that along. probably not, its filthy rotten stinking crapsack world, the rich and powerful do what they like, everyone else gets to sit back, do and say what their told and if you step out of line you're gonna get slapped down and people will say oh well they deserved it what did they expect.
fuck it all.

That's not a valid line of reasoning.
Oh it totally is.

On that note, Wikileak's primary workforce is FEMALE volunteers? That's how I'd run my office place.

OT: Though I don't like the idea of wiki leaks, these charges seem kind BS to me. I mean they were brought up outta no where. Only time will tell if they were real charges
