I'm pretty sure that swine flu will purge the scattered remnants of our species from the planet. After the global SARS and Avian Flu pandemics ravaged our populations, we simply don't have the numbers to weather this storm.

Seriously, do we need any more swine flu threads? There's already like 10 of these things.

If you feel like you have to add anything to the discussion then use the search button and post on one of those.

It's great how people get worried about things.

"Oh no! Doomsday is in 2012!" FAIL

"I'm gonna die of swine flu." FAIL.

Why do we love having things to be scared of? Can't we just have a nice, worry free time and if something happens just let it takes it's course and not worry about it?

In truth pandemics are the way the world controls population, but I don't think that this will be a big deal. So far this is not like influenza of the early 1900's nor is it the bubonic plague of the dark ages. So I think that we are all good. The main reason for all the scare can be contributed to the media and how they so over hype a story to milk the new and play off of people fears.

Do any of you know about the Spanish Influensa epidemic?

It killed a measly 50 million people, and made a lot more sick.
Thats easily more than most wars, and maybe even more than WW2.

The swine flu has reportedly spread almost globally already, with a foothold on every continent. It will get worse, more people will be traveling when infected.

My only question is, what is its kill rate?

This is true.

Use the search button! This is at least the fifth thread about swine flu that I've seen.

The kill rate is something that can easily be figured out. 1,600 people in Central America have it to around one hundred dead. One in every sixteen people will die if it spreads out.

I would like to see a source that it has a foothold on every continent. I have only heard it in the Americas. Europe is telling everyone not to go to the Americas, Russia has banned the meat trade with America temporarily out of fear, though noone in Russia is affected. And the MiddleEast is having a pig purge, killing around 300,000 pigs to prevent an infection, though there is no case of swine flu there yet. I don't believe Australia has any cases yet.

If anything, this swine flu is hurting America, Mexico, South America, and Canada's meat trade, and the Americas are hurting from the sudden decrease in travel. A few hundred million dollars has gone down the drain for them already.

What I love about this pandemic is that there are many news clips of people wearing masks. Wasn't it said at the beginning that wearing a mask will do nothing to prevent it?

Well it's not really swine flu anyway.
We all know all 'animal flu' outbreaks are just the zombie plague being covered up by the government.
