My only question is, what is its kill rate?
I have no idea. But i figure its pretty low since its not been reported. If it actually killed someone there would be huge newsflashes how humanity is doomed to extinction and stuff..

Mexcians are dying as their health care is lacking to say the least, epescially in the country.
US westerner have better healthcare and immune systems, hence only the vunerable have died outside mexico.
I don't think anyone has died outside of Mexico yet.
I think as long as the necessary precautions are taken, it will blow over.

As has been said before, Mexico's healthcare isn't the best. Countries like America and Britain (Where I happen to live) have much better healthcare so I bet my bank account that the only deaths over here and America will be the very vulnerable such as small children and those with weak immune systems. But overall, people with panic for a couple of weeks and suddenly the cases will stop. No need to panic. No need to tape up your windows and doors and suffocate.

EDIT: @dekkarax: There has been one death outside Mexico, and it was a 23 month old child from Mexico who was brought to America for medical treatment. So again, no cause for alarm.

It's great how people get worried about things.

"Oh no! Doomsday is in 2012!" FAIL

"I'm gonna die of swine flu." FAIL.

Why do we love having things to be scared of? Can't we just have a nice, worry free time and if something happens just let it takes it's course and not worry about it?
You, sir, win the Internet.

My wife is a borderline hypochondriac, so we've got all the hatches battened down.
I'm not quite as concerned until it starts to get a bit crazier. Then the doors get locked, the basement gets opened and we subsist on baked beans for a while.

My god...

Swine Flu Isn't a big deal.

1. We gots Vaccine
2. 150 mexicans dead how many infected 2,000,000 - 5,000,000 Or somthing?

3,500,000 lets say to be fair, 150/3,500,000 = 0.00004286 = Mortality rate...

If my figures are wrong please do correct,

Also Bird Flu anyone, what happend to that? What now Fish flu?

Swine flu has already progressed much further than bird flu, it is spreading rapidly and it is no question of opinion over it- it has definately became a problem. Try reading the news insteas of just the headlines.

A few supposed cases just hit my school actually. So there!

Wait, not a good thing...

Anyway, Swine Flu is an upper respiratory disease, and you don't get it from eating pork...just throwing that out there because of all the jackasses at my high school freaking out when they realized that they ate bacon this morning.

I'm pretty sure that swine flu will purge the scattered remnants of our species from the planet. After the global SARS and Avian Flu pandemics ravaged our populations, we simply don't have the numbers to weather this storm.

Its gonna end up like any other animal related epidemic, this one is a cause for concern though since it can spread from Person to person, but not a cause for panic.
Edit: Also some dumb girl in my German class today said "I think I have the swine flu..." today even though we are not in an affected area, and she hasn't been anywhere near Mexico. That and if you truly believe you have it then, WHY THE F*CK DID YOU COME INTO SCHOOL!

News says (not FOX) says we have vaccins for 1/4 -1/2 of the county (England)

And Everyone is worried about a 3,800 infected? Thats Insane, And not to mention its in Mexico
and people have given points for why thats a factor so as it stands...

150/3,800 = 0.04 (rounded up) Soo assuming your figures are correct (dont forget this is in Mexico you fear-mongers. 4/100 infected will die, assuming it become like the F'ing Plague

11,000,000/4 = 2,750,000 deaths. Now does that not seem nigh impossible?

(Are you sure its 3,800 that seems really low for people to be so botherd about. Any sources?)
