So this idea was tossed around a bit in the "Which Escapists Do You Know?" thread, and I figured I'd put this up.

I'm looking to organise an Escapist meet-up in Sydney, mid-December and either the 13th or the 20th. There'd be lunch, possibly dinner and just general catching up. Drop me a line if you're interested, or post something here.

Further details will be put up closer to the date.
-Tess.

Edit: For the prevention of confusion, the above dates are both Saturdays.

Update: Okay, so it looks like we're set to have our little soiree on the 13th of December, 2008. First meetings will be at Central station 9:30am from where we will traverse to an arcade, then onwards! At some point lunch will be sought, and an internet cafe for the sake of linking to other sub-parties.

Books plane ticket now... Ha, I wish. This is a good idea though, it's always nice to expand horizons.

I do rather like this idea, and if I was one year older and it wasn't the school year I'd be there. Any Escapists here on the east coast of the States interested in holding a get-together?

I was thinking it'd be a day thing, but if we feel like booking a restaurant, sure.

Hence why it's a) on a weekend and b) at the time when most assessments have been handed in. Especially the 20th, as all schools I know end on the 23rd or something.

Yes, the school year maybe near over in Australia but here in the States the school year is only three months old and I wouldn't go to Australia for only a weekend, I'd rather at least spend a month or two there if I was going.

I occasionally come up to Sydney from Melbourne for business. Unfortunately it looks like my next trip is scheduled for Feb 2009.

Sounds good, I'll do my damnedest to attend. Just have to make sure I'm not working, which shouldn't be an issue.

Dang. December's a fiddly time. Either A)I'm in Canada, or failing that B)The planes would be all booked out.

Still one day I'd like it to happen. If only there was more Brisbians.

Sounds good. I'll film it so we can elitist at all the non-chummy escapists.

Now to find a great big cape and a crown.

I was thinking that as somewhat of a joke, you could turn up in your helmet. I'm taking the Bowler, and Xhumed is planning to take his gas mask.

I actually do have a full head helm. It's damn heavy, and lets me see just enough to swing an axe at what's in front of me, but not to do anything more delicate.

I might make one from cardboard. Or... an... all cardboard... suit of armor.

So awesome i may just bleed.

I can... I know two remember Jim...

I am sorely tempted to book an El-cheapo ticket and possibly scrounge a couch from one of you but I know my parents would never let me go.

Brb with prices. Can someone gimme an excuse?
