It was originally an occult symbol to ward off evil spirits in Eastern Europe, if memory serves me right.cleverlymadeup said:you're taking that seriously? Dee is probly doing it for shits and giggles, he's like that.Hookman said:http://www.takebackthehorns.com/
Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider has started a campaign to stop misuse of the 'Metal Horns' hand sign (Officially known as the Corna). Apparently the last straw was seeing Miley Cyrus throwing the horns for the paparazzi, what do you think Escapists? Could it work?
the metal horns did not belong to metal at all, they're a religious symbol. the funny part is it's part of "the evil eye" although Jesus wouldn't even think that.
i think the site is damn funny tho
Dee himself has said that the site is designed to be funny but underneath the humour is a very real point.cleverlymadeup said:you're taking that seriously? Dee is probly doing it for shits and giggles, he's like that.

Why not try and get people to stop using the word "cool" in reference to something awesome. Now that would be a worthy goal. And equally as impossible.
I'm with you, but if we have to nuke it, let me know first.Sasquatch99 said:I agree with this.pimppeter2 said:Yes, we should totally invade France

She was making MUSIC? I thought she was trying to re-create the sound of nails going down a blackboard while drowning a cat and making the la-la-la-la-la sound that the arabs make and the high pitched scream of a small child.2012 Wont Happen said:I'm not even a metal-head, I'm a punk rocker and annoys me to see a picture of Miley Cyrus throwing horns. Only throw the horns at shit that's metal/hardcore, something that she doesn't seem to know the meaning of judging by her music.
actually no it has to do with the Bull God, which itself is a symbol for the rising of Venus during the solstices. it was a time when kings were born, such as Jesus and John the Baptist but that's another topic.Chapper said:It was originally an occult symbol to ward off evil spirits in Eastern Europe, if memory serves me right.
Also, Dio is credited the popularization of it inside the metal community.
well Dee is not a stupid person at all, he knows it was stolen from somewhere else, so him saying there's a real point behind it is a joke as well.Hookman said:Dee himself has said that the site is designed to be funny but underneath the humour is a very real point.cleverlymadeup said:you're taking that seriously? I can tell by reading your posts that you are a quite informed person, but answer me this: of what "evil eye" do you refer? I wiki-ed it and found this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_eye. Is this the thing you were taking about because the funny story is that in my country this symbol represents "the eye of god" and is said to bring good luck (salesmen these days will lie to you about anything just to sell their stuff XD )cleverlymadeup said:the metal horns did not belong to metal at all, they're a religious symbol. the funny part is it's part of "the evil eye" although Jesus wouldn't even think that.
