If Erin's going to make complaints like that, she needs to be a dude.
She doesn't seem any crazier than the general community who is responding.Deathfish15 said:Also, nobody should listen to Erin. She's a self-absorbed schizophrenic who talks to imaginary video game characters she sees (possibly a symptom of that car accident, but I think it is something that has within her for longer than that).
Actually, Wal-Mart has done this numerous times in the states. I must have missed the world burning. In fact, it seems to have slipped so far under the radar that this same sentiment has been espoused multiple times.Czann said:I don't even like GTAs but this is problematic in one sense.
Imagine these guys removing a book, CD or movie from their shelves for some political or bigoted reason. The world would come down in flames.
But a game? Pffft. Who the hell cares?
That's kind of the point, and it's a shame you're too busy being offended to not understand that. Hell, a number of the people screaming censorship have supported other boycotts or made the exact argument that companies should listen to their customers. Hell, NuclearKangaroo has unironically declared in this very thread we should let the market decide, apparently not understanding that this petition was market forces in action. This is a strawman only if you ignore reality and censorship only in the same sense that you deciding not to read this comic anymore because you don't like its content is censorship.FFMaster said:The "they should listen to me" works for all consumers not just one side.
Nobody has done that here.katsabas said:I have no trouble when someone decides what's appropriate for him/her but who the fuck are you to decide what's appropriate for me ?
These games are also sold in with kids' stuff, according to multiple Aussies on the site, so this is probably an even bigger issue.erttheking said:Then again one of the possible reasons for the outrage was GTA V being included in a flyer for Target that put it alongside kids toys, so I'd have to say "Maybe".
