Why wouldn't she be allowed to continue teaching? There is absolutely no connection between her ability to teach and class and her appearance in an adult film.

Of course, she won't be allowed to continue teaching, but that's because people are idiots.

I loved this bit...

Haydock Intermediate also made headlines in 2010, when officials investigated allegations that a boy and girl engaged in oral sex in the back of a classroom while the rest of the class watched an educational film.
So? So what? We need to launch investigations into this shit now? My girlfriend gave me a handjob in English Lit when I was in Grade 12. It was a stupid idea, and the teacher noticed. He called us up after class, and told us he was going to separate us in future classes. Made my friend Dan sit between us. Problem solved. NO INVESTIGATION NECESSARY.

Ooga booga, teenagers curious about sex, sound the alarm!

Okay I'm done ranting now.
Yes it is . Students are supposed to look up to their teachers , they are supposed to be role models , what kind of role model can a porno actress be? What kind of image does it give about the establishment that she is representing? She represents the school who in turn represents the educational system. Now i have nothing against porn actors but they should not be teaching minors . Anyways thats my two cents.

As long as she didn't bring the video in to class and show it to the kids, then she shouldn't suffer from being in the porno imo.

Teachers are role models, but they're also allowed to have personal lives.

Hell, I had a teacher who told us how he got so drunk one night, and the next morning he was looking at his piss and thought how much it looked like the alcohol he had had the night before, so he tried drinking it.

I'd say that tops a teacher who was in a porno but never brought it to school.

It was my impression that educational institutions have moral clauses. If that's the case, she's pretty much screwed here. kinda like how some people get fired or don't get hired if they have a history of infidelity.

My mother said that she wouldn't want someone teaching us unless she was asked first. She'd be worried if someone would accidentally see it.

And she doesn't mean someone finding it by accident. She means that upon not knowing said teacher's past... we have no idea what they've done. What if someone she knew ended up spreading it around school to just be a bully or something?

Then everyone will have ended up seeing it.

The funny thing is students do this all the time posting their sexual antics or homemade pornography and never get any grief about it from the administrators even though they know it's there

Any chance of a link? ;o)

But seriously I feel sorry for her. she's an adult so it's fine if she want's to do that kind of thing and probably no one would have even known. It started out as a rummer by the kids and it would have just faded away in a few weeks. But now that the school has made a big deal about it then she will probably lose her job. Which is really unfair imo.

As long as the kids she is teaching are too young to seek out her movie and shes not working for a religious school then sure, she should be kept.

Yes, of course.

What she did in the past (probably to pay for college) has no bearing on her current abilities as a teacher.

What, do they think she's going to jump a student? Why? If she was in an adult film, she was being PAID to do so. Are they worried about her staring in more films? I doubt she will with a full-time teaching job.

So basically, the only reason to fire her is if they want her to make MORE films (because she'd need the money then).

Really, all these stupid "moral outrage" news articles lately are just idiotic.

What? How could something she did before she was hired have any bearing on discipline now? That is both absurd and offensive. **shakes head in disgust**

Little more info for those who want it.

Well if she does lose her job due to state law. She's a promising career in the pornographic industry, which as I figure even in these bad economic times. Is just a "boomin".

Captcha: Willy Nilly

Fits rather nicely with new second job, lmfao.

how adorable, the distinct is worried that 14 year olds with internet access might look at porn. The kids that first found the video didn't do so by googling their teachers name.

I don't think that they should fire her. I mean if she's willing to deal with the possible ridicule if it comes to light that she WAS in a porno, then okay. As long as it's not actually disturbing the children's ability to learn and her ability to teach then it shouldn't be an issue. If that happens, then yeah, it's probably be a good idea for her to leave.

I didn't click the link so maybe I'm missing something, but according to the little blurb it sounds like the knowledge of her whether she has or hasn't been in a pornography is all hearsay and not confirmed in the least so I don't think she should have been suspended in the first place. I mean that's essentially saying "Some other teachers think you were an adult film star, we have no proof, but we want you to leave anyways because of course all the OTHER teachers are way more honest."

And her fellow co-workers shouldn't have been digging into the woman's business in the first fucking place.

People. This is not about the teacher as an individual. Yes, on an individual basis her performance -professional or otherwise- has no bearing on her ability to teach. That is obvious, no one is questioning that.

What is at stake is student morale and respect, as well as the schools reputation. Kids and teenagers are dumb, vindictive, vicious shits. There is no question they would rip this woman apart in the classroom now. It doesn't matter whether he's able to 'take it', because respect for this teacher has been forever compromised in a way that cannot be repaired. There will also be a very large and a very vocal amount of parents who -rightly or wrongly- will not be comfortable with this teacher educating their children. Furthermore, no one wants to be associated with the school that hires porn stars (or boozehounds or whatever).

Letting this teacher go just makes good goddamn sense for the integrity of the school (and also drives home to the students that there are some paths that are dangerous to tread in life).

Yes.

Who cares if the students know she's been in a film.
They aren't allowed to watch it legally anyway.

Ha!
I had this at my school once!
Teacher was suspected to be in an adult film, she was pretty nice to the eye as I heard it from other students
Apparently it wasn't her, but looked like her, I'm not sure what it was but she was suspended and then left afterward.

I think on your matter and my own person story, they should be able to teach, sure they stared on an adult movie but other than the slight niggling from students it should have no effect on the teaching ability of the teacher.
As long as that teacher can remain emotionally stable of course.

If I was her student I would probably have my imagination wander more in class now. That can be very detrimental to a learning environment...

... It's not fair, not at all. But it'd probably be better to let her go.
