What is they made a sequel or an episode that ADDED a story mode? I can't possibly fathom what kind of story or if it would work, but think of the possibilities.

Why does everyone love TF2 so much? I hate that game. Apparently it has problems with Intel processors. What that translates to roughly is I only get to play on one server that I set as a favorite when I got the game, which is a 24/7 2fort map. So I get all the wonders of camping demos, everyone spraying in tight quarters so I can't play spy, snipers that sit on the battlements and are good enough to headshot me over and over again. Since I bought the game off the wonderful creation called Steam I can't return the game. Maybe the game is good on other maps? On the one single fucking map I am stuck on it's pretty terrible.

Edit: And yes, to get the obvious out of the way, I tried all the fixes I could, reinstalled TF2, reinstalled Steam, did a Voodoo dance, the works.

That 2fort map is the bane of my existence. Nothing sucks more then being shot repeatedly by a sniper named "Sir Sean Connery" as I try to get used to the rifle.

However, I am on an intel core duo, no issues besides firewall ones at first. Try looking at your firewall settings in regards to TF2, if its blocking stuff then it'll really make it a ***** to play. Like not connecting to servers, no favorites.

But I don't see why you don't pick another map, even if you cant favorite it, honestly.

Because the game will literally not let me connect to any server other then the one I have favorited (the 24/7 2fort map).

Sounds like a problem with your router. Try lowering your download speed in the steam settings. I get the same problem where loading the full server list will overload my internet (or something) and cut it for about 5 minutes. You can manually add severs to your favourites if you can't fix it, the Escapist ones here are a good place to start.
2Fort is a woeful map, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I'll assume that when (and it will be when, not if) they make Half Life 3, then 5 years later Team Fortress 3 will be released. By then, it'll probably be in Virtual Reality.

I know that sounds weird in this sequel happy world, but its true, and I really wish people would understand that.

TF2 is fine as it is, its still fun and better than most stuff on the market today.

Similar to what he said. I'd think if a TF3 were to be ever made, it would have something radically new. A Singleplayer, would be my guess. They'd have to evolve the characters, create a real functioning world outside of the arenas, expand the rift between RED/BLU(reasons for fighting apart from mercenaries) and damn. That'd be hard to do with the current class/personality of each class's structure. But heck, if any company could create a compelling singleplayer storyline from a pure Multiplayer FPS with no real story so to speak of, my bets would be Valve could do it.

I don't think they could, any changes they make to the game are more likely to be in a patch.

However I wish they would make Unreal Fortress for the UT3 engine. I wouldn't be able to play it due to my shitty comp, but it would be awesome. I've been playing Unreal Fortress, and it is absolutely incredible, probably my favourite version of the game... despite the fact it is only against bots <:|

If it's coming, well, it'll take awhile. There's tons of new maps and weapons and things coming out anyway.

I don't need a TF3 yet, maybe even never. I still play TF2 almost every day, it's hard to see how they could improve on that.

I think there is a point in making a sequel or at least a new game if Valve changes engine. Or if people stop playing TF2.

Btw. Does anyone know how many active TF2 players there are? Would hate if the community died.

They update it enough as it is. They could release an 'updated' version for the consoles, or on disk for a faster download, but that's about it.

No sequel, it would destroy my love for the game. If Valve feels it needs a new multiplayer game, they should do something original. I have faith in you Valve, you can make something as good or better than TF2.

I think making a sequel to Team Fortress 2 (or would it just be the third game in the series instead of a direct sequel...?) would make me, and maybe for the very first time, disappointed in Valve.

Did you try searching for servers and connecting by the console? That's what I do with punk-buster games.
