boom, no matter how you turn it, this is exactly what it is.
No, it's like this because you don't even bother to "turn it"

rest assured, I'm not saying I disagree with you, however most of your links were based on music, which rich artists can go to hell and back if they think I'm going to spend thousands on something like that. And my statement was based more on video game based piracy, like what most people were talking about in this thread, which oh i would say...a good 3 out of every 4 gamers i know does some piracy, and they just do it to be a douche and not pay for games, let alone care that no one is getting money for it, that is what aspect I was catching on their with the "douche" line I quoted.

oh and also, maybe I'm reading this wrong..but chillax a bit? that was a bit of a thrown off comment there not really meant to be aggressive, and you came across as tightwad McGee there...now if that's not true feel free to correct me, maybe even post some fun links like before.

That's probably true for your age range, but that's more of a maturity issue. Here are more video-games related examples given by another poster.

I read too much into your post, sorry. I get too agressive when I'm in this kind of discussions and the ones I flood with proof keep hold of their arbitrary beliefs no matter what.
I guess it's time to let go, and if one more dickwad comes by just saying "Yah, piracy bad anywayz" so be it :)

Wow. Devs actually giving more shit about people playing their game rather than the money it overall makes. Who woulda guessed.

A couple friends of mine pirated Super Meat Boy with no intention to buy it at all, so, uh, there you go, Team Meat, I guess.

Finally,final-f*ckingly,a company that thinks about the positive side of piracy.
There is no "positive side" to piracy. It's simply a matter of trying to find the best way to deal with douchebags.
Sure there is. Pirated games aren't lost revenue; those who pirate would not have bought that game otherwise.

As Team Meat says: it's free advertising.

If they think shame is going to make people pay for games, they are fucking high. Since when has anyone been ashamed of downloading a game or movie??

2 weeks ago I pressed the blue part where it says 'doesn't give a shit'. Just got out of my laughing coma.

Still arguing about whether or not taking things without paying for them is douchey, I see.

Hint:
It is.

Why am I the only person thinking "well if there not bothered about me not paying for it, why should I pay for it?". I am not a fan of masochistic games like SMB but even if your ok with piracy you don't go and say it out loud.

I know a fuck load of people who will say "yeah, I got this game were you try and beat really hard levels, you want it? I can just e mail/put the files on my USB drive and give it to you". That person won't say "no, thanks. I would rather pay for it".

I think if you pirate your a douche but this almost seems like there saying "pirate it for all we care" not "yeah, we know pirate it but we wish they didn't. Maybe they can tell there friends and they buy it" but to flat out say "not bothered" is stupid.

Maybe they are targeting the crowd of people who are sick of this attitude:

I think if you pirate your a douche...
I know I am.

I just had a captcha in two different languages. The first word was using English characters and the second word was using some asian characters. Does anyone fuckin' check these captcha's or is the refresh button there so they don't have to pay someone to make sure these things are even solvable?

I'm not pro piracy, but you are abusing the word "taking" quite a bit there.

You know, I was mildly interested in this game but I didn't buy it because I suck at platformers and it seems silly to spend money just to be controller-breakingly-frustrated. But after hearing what Team Meat have to say, I have just logged on to Steam and am about to click the purchase button on their game. And yet, I still refuse to buy anything by Ubisoft since the Assassin's Creed 2 DRM bullshit. So, how does DRM help sales again?

Its a battle they can't win. So y waste their money trying to stop the inevitable?

P.s. I don't buy any game on the PC that has the ALWAYS ONLINE DRM. Sorry, i don't pay for games from publishers who treat customers as criminals.

I will be honest and say I "tried" this game through not the most reputable way. But I liked it, and I did buy it. If I like a game after I play it, I will buy it to support the game and hope more like it come out. If the game isn't very good, then I didn't give money in support of something I didn't like and hopefully there won't be more like it.

Some people are going to pirate and never pay. That is just the way it is, and it is pointless to focus on it. But this does not equal lost sales like so many people think. These people are playing games they would never have bought otherwise, and therefore it isn't a lost sale. Some people will end up buying the games that did pirate it, though, and that ends up being a sale. If they had never played it through piracy, they may never have played it at all, and therefore never bought it.

I wish more companies would take this mindset instead of putting in really obtrusive DRM that just pushes people to WANT to pirate the game.
