This is how it starts... Shame when governments do stupid shit and the people just accept it.

Was not Tennessee the state to make sharia law illegal? Which was odd given it wasn't there to begin with, but now they have made this law?
Thats some irony right there.

I hate censorship, this is such bullshit. It doesn't even make sense in the guidelines of our laws.

State of Tennessee going to arrest all of Fox broadcasting within it's boarders?

Because every one of their shows is under that definition, even early morning infomercials.

This law is completely ridiculous. Hopefully, it's only a matter of time before it's removed.

Internet toughguys have nothing on legislature toughguys when it comes to pointless blather, unenforceable threats and meaningless attempts at intimidation. But they both get big throbbing stiffies at the keyboard while they write their fantasies.

How often is this becoming relevant, these days?

Commissioner Pravin Lal said:
As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master.

Yeah, about that.
Most anything I post can be considered offensive to someone
I love these laws that just become entirely subjective.
Fuck this state. Seriously, why the hell do I have to live here? >.>
Don't worry. The moment someone tries to enforce it, the judicial system will bitchslap the law out of existence. And the people who passed it will become laughingstocks.

Be interesting to see whether they'll actually try to enforce that, of it's purely an empty gesture of petty puritanism as worthless as the people who drafted it up.

If they do try to enforce it, it'll either be an embarrassing failure for them, or if they actually manage to put somebody on trial result in lengthy and costly civil rights suits and presumably tons of poor publicity for absolutely no gain.

Who the hell elect these retards?

Why does this law have to exist only where I live?
Don't worry, once this law gets challenged and eventually reaches the Supreme Court, every state will censor the Internet!

(You know, assuming they don't see it for the utter tripe it is. Even if they do, they'll still probably find it constitutional because they're OLD)

Actually, these are the people who made abortion legal. The Supreme Court takes the Constitution very seriously.

I was also trying to make a remark about the California video games law. The court was pretty split on it, even though we haven't heard a verdict yet (to my knowledge). If several court members would find censoring video games constitutional, I don't see why they would find this unconstitutional. Hopefully I'm just getting worked up over nothing.

"Oh no I won't be able to share my goatse pictures now! My life is over!"

It seems more like an attempt to stop shocksites and shock imagery than to actually censor the internet..
