So consoles can have exclusives and PC's can't? Okay. And yeah, PC's are superior. I own three consoles, and they have a place, but they are inferior. You can prefer consoles, and that's fine, that's your preference; preferences are only opinions though. And superiority is based on facts. And objectively, PCs are better; consoles are objectively worse. As in better processor, better RAM, better GPU, more control options, and finally lower priced games. I can't tell you what your favourite is, but you asked for what was superior, I must answer. Oh and "Playing on the couch is better, I like controllers, and I don't like all the hassle of setting things up are all opinions, not facts. Sure, you can use those points in formulating your own opinion of your PREFERENCE, but they can't be used in proving which is SUPERIOR.... \ But let me reiterate incase you didn't get it through your thick little skull: PC is superior objectively, consoles still have a place, and no one is trying to tell you you have to like PC. But this is all beside the point...

You say I am trying to hog the games for PC.. I do not support this nor did I ever state it. I supported Minecraft Xbox Edition and I even own it. It accomplished what a good port should do: expand the audience to people who would otherwise not get to play the game. But should't that go both ways? I merely stated I can agree with some people not liking Terraia being ported as we PC gamers don't get as fair a share of ports. I never said "Terraria should never, ever be ported and the PC master race should hog all the games!!!" I proved this with a list of many exclusives that I'm sure many PC gamers would love to have, just as many console gamers want Terraia. So, one last time, how is it that you can "HOG ALL THE GAMES" but PC gets shit? Oh, and QQ MOAR about your terrible reading comprehension.
I love how you treat me like shit because I prefer consoles, when in reality, all I have is a PC.

Thick little skull? Seriously? U mad? It's easy to dismiss everything you say when you say things like that (even more so when under self-administered false pretense).

I'm fully aware that PCs are superior by definition. This fact has nothing to do with this discussion, meaning your little rant did nothing but make you look like a fool.

And you say you didn't support game-hogging, but that's been the underlying message of every single thing you've typed up to this point: "I'm upset because I have to give up previously exclusive titles to the consoles." You try to justify with "But they don't give us anything!" which is bull. Almost everything I want to play is ported to PC, and your long list of games that haven't is dwarfed by those that have. Then, you accuse ME of saying that PCs can't have exclusives.

After I gave you a list of PC exclusives. Insert generic sarcastic snark here.

You attack MY reading comprehension, but YOU'RE the one projecting into what I write. As I said, I don't even have a console. So... Whoops!

What you're trying to do is justify thousands of PC gamers acting like tantrumming children simply because game companies don't give you enough ports.

Deny it. You can't, because it's what you've been doing.

I, for one, take what I get, and don't support embarrassing *****-fits because I use a product and dislike one of the (few) benefits of a competing product.

Although, I should thank you for the copious mirth I got from your assumptions that I use consoles. Assumptions aren't your friend.
Again, no I don't support game hogging, either by PC or console. If I did, why would I take the time to post that huge list of games that I would like to have on PC. I specifically said I think that Ports are good and gave you the example of Minecraft. But again, you ignore that while I state I like ports, the balance between Console -> PC ports and PC -> console ports is unbalanced. SO yeah, I'd like to believe you have reading comprehension problems because you continue to ignore the fact that I NEVER, EVER SAID "I WANT TO KEEP ALL THE GAMES ON PC, NO ONE CAN HAVE THEM" Apparently, if I infer you play consoles, I'm an idiot for being wrong. Ok, that's cool, that's what they same with assuming: it makes an ass and of u and me. I was wrong. But YOU can infer that my objective is to justify keeping all the games on Steam so no one else can have them... and be completely wrong; I haven't said ANYTHING to support this notion, but that's fine, you're never wrong right? WAH WAH YOU"RE PROJECTING INTO WHAT I WRITE. It goes both ways moron.

Just because everything you like gets ported to PC means absolutely nothing to me or anyone else for that matter. It doesn't make up for the fact that the port scale is tipped heavily in the consoles favour. DOES THIS MAKE IT OK TO WANT ALL PC GAMES TO BE EXCLUSIVE? NO. IT MEANS I UNDERSTAND THE POINT THAT THESE GAMERS ARE MAKING( THE EXACT SAME THING I SAID IN MY FIRST POST) I guess you don't remember, because you only ignore what I have to say and post your own bullshit as a response to something I never said.
You've never come out and SAID it, no, but you do infer it. A lot. That's what happens when you make your entire argument under the pretense that you support people throwing tantrums (and "seeing where they come from" with no "but" attached comes across as support, like it or not).

What you originally said: "I understand why they're throwing a fit, and it's because there's a port imbalance."

Let's start (and end) there: Even if that's true, that doesn't make me understand why they're throwing a fit.

Just as I'd think console players are infantile if they attack me because PCs have more graphic potential, I think PC players are infantile if they throw a fit because something goes right for consoles.

Alternatively, when they throw around the words "moron" and "thick little skull" because they can't get themselves across any other way.

Stick to the point man. If you have a valid argument, you won't need to attack his actual method.

Why is anyone upset over this? I guess the bait-and-switch could be a little infuriating, but a simple "oh..." is all that this calls for.

I am a little perplexed as to why they decided to release it for consoles. It does rely on the mouse quite a bit, so the controls may be a severe handicap. That and the game practically runs on an abacus, so it seems like a lot of work to bring it to consoles when grandma's PC could run it just fine. Sales on Steam have also shown that indie titles can stand to make a lot of money over the console marketplaces.

Bah, you know what, I fully understand the rage the more I try to rationalize the decision. Personally, it doesn't make one jot of a difference to me who gets to play it where, but if you're going to say to your fans (ALL of which are PC fans, BTW) that they should be excited about an upcoming something, and that something doesn't apply to them, they have a right to be mad. Lashing out with asinine comments like what was quoted sounds more reasonable than I first thought.

As a PC gamer, I don't apologize for shit.

Re-Logic should've realized their audience is entirely on PC and has been shrinking ever since they stopped launching updates. Giving it hopes for new content, and then only confirming it for consoles was not wise.

Look at how CDP handled the Enhanced Edition for TW2. They announced it will be a simultaneous release for PC and console since day one and everyone was happy. That's how you do it.

The thought is that, instead of just making a shallow cash-grab port, they could have spent the same amount of money and effort to actually support the existing game.
Shit. I didn't even think of that aspect too. Yeah, I'm certainly not going to "RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE" about this, but it deserves it. They had a loyal fanbase, and they just shit all over them for a few thousand more sales.

I don't mind PC-only games being turned into console ports, what I do mind is when I come to read the news and get insulted instead.
Agreed, this was a poorly written news piece and frankly I expected more from the escapist than flame bait. Bad show Andy.

And having spent hours upon hours on Terraria, I can understand their ire, the game basically just died, with the devs abandoning it, as has been pointed out, while missing a great amount of promised features. So when a dev says a big update is coming people thinking "Oh yey all those promised features." and then it turns into a console port? Put it like this, this is like when Minecraft got console ported while it was still a buggy mess on PC, the only redeeming thing about that situation was that Mojang outsourced, Terraria to my understanding isn't being outsourced.

Well, this certainly isn't the first time a company has assumed that gamers enjoy hearing that their popular game is being ported instead of updated (due to the fact that making such grand opening statements is just asking for trouble), and it won't be the last. Developers and publishers, please understand that when you invoke the call of mystery, that you do not use this privilege lightly.

Frankly, while the backlash always leans on the side of "unreasonable" to say the least, it is hard to tell why the pr people did not expect fan anger after doing something like, say, putting a large countdown on a page, and then revealing a port to handheld mac devices for a game that people have been wanting the sequel to for ages.

Stuff like that.

It's funny. This is the exact same snarky sort of style the Escapist has demonstrated for years. Nobody else really seems to be insulted. There's snarky comments about PC gamers for once?

ZOMG shitstorm!

Seriously guys, lighten up.

Thinging about it, that's going to be one tough port. I'm left wondering how they're going to map the controls, because from what I can remember this game was highly dependant on the mouse.

Though in the end I'm just really happy for the devs of such a great game are get more cash.
