These are the unlikeable, unlovable, extraordinarily terrible characters that you just can't even accept as an acquaintance.

My personal pick goes for Morrigan from Dragon Age:Origins. She was a terrible character... her hate for everything just came off as bitchy instead of sarcastic. To top it off she wasn't even hot, you'd think they would've gotten that part right at least.

Terrible in the sense of "this character is an evil jerk?" Or "I really don't like this character for whatever reason?"

In any case, my answer is the same as always: Kyoka Nanjou from <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.135672-Neutral-Drow-reviews-A-Drug-That-Makes-You-Dream>A Drug That Makes You Dream. Describing why without referring to spoilers or screamed obscenities would be near-impossible.

Everyone from Star Ocean - the Last Hope

I haven't played any of the other ones in the series but i picked this one up and the characters were beyond terrible.

Its not that i don't like the genre either - i absolutely loved Tales of Vesperia.

->"I really don't like this character for whatever reason"<-

Also...I'm guessing a lurker makes an awesome topic that no one has created and is therefore an awesome person?

Stop whining, you sulky, emo Sinead O Connor wannabe.

She's like that annoying one in Empire Records with the bald head and cuts on her arms.

Cait Sith. Most unlikeable rpg character ever? Did anyone actually play as... it o_O in FF7?

And what's all this lurking business about?

Oh, I can name a few.

Let's start with Squall, from FFVIII. I don't know why they thought a detached, ineffective douche would make a good main character. Especially since he never really learns a lesson.

Jacob, from ME2. Bland, flat and poorly voiced. Wholly uninteresting.

That little girl, thing...from Star Ocean, the Last Hope. She made me cringe every time she talked. Why such a choice for the voicing? Ugh.

It made me chuckle a little bit that I actually know who that is and exactly what you're talking about.

Quina and Eiko from Final Fantasy IX - two of only three things I hated about an otherwise excellent game (the other being Necron).
It's a testament to just how nice a guy Zidane is that he puts up with Quina's one-track mind and Eiko's constant attention-seeking.
They have their practical uses, of course - Quina's blue magic can be devastating, and Eiko's a good healer - but I just want to hit Quina. With Eiko.
I didn't mind Steiner quite so much, mainly due to his character development later on.

Peach for always getting kidnapped
Mario for always rescuing Peach
Luigi for not being playable unless there is a second player
Gordon Freeman for being a generic silent protagonist and yet everyone makes out to be the best character ever
Raiden in MGS2, for not being Snake
Bowser for only having 1 boss fight per game that is repeateded multiple times.

hey, raiden was alright, compared to most of the other charecters in the MGS saga

I actually agree. He wasn't that horrible, he was just a bit of a wuss - it WAS his first
mission after all.

Edit - Woops forgot to state annoying characters.

Packie from GTA IV, I want him to die a painful and slow death.
Rock from SC IV 'PANGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO' That guy's retarded. I wouldn't be surprised if he ate Pangoo and is just haunted by the persons ghost.

Navi 'Hey! Shut the Fuck up, please.'
Aerith/Aeris - She really didn't do much and the reception she had for her death was ridiculously over done.

Algol - Is in my personal top ten of worst villains in a video game. Generic and bland.

'I am the best warrior!'

(Beats him easily and he cries.)

And I wish I was kidding. He actually cries in Talim's ending.

Ygdrassiel from Tale sof Symphonia/ Probably one of the worst villains in any game I have ever played.

His entire reason for killing hundreds of people and almost dooming the entire world to destruction is that his sisters died. Yep, his sister died so he is going to sacrifice hundreds of innocents without any hesitation just to bring her back. Probably the most selfish thing you can do. Not only that, but the game tries to set him up as a sympathetic individual. Um, no. I do not sympathize with someone who has committed themselves to homicide just because his sister died. Boo fucking hoo. I wonder how many sisters he has himself killed over the years.

I don't mind a villain being the ultimate evil, but don't make me sympathize with them. Especially when he keeps doing horrible things. One minute he is trying to save one of your squad mates from death (yeah it's really random. He becomes friends with one of your squadmates), then attempts to kill all of you minutes later. He will whine about his sisters death, then kick the rib cage of one of his incapacitated old friends. The game tries to make you feel sorry for him while at the same time portraying him as evil incarnate. It's ridiculous.

I also hate Regal from the same game. I can not get over how stupid his reason for not fighting with his hands his.

I didn't find her to be to bad. She could be a lot worse (though I cringe whenever she calls herself a "dangerous *****"). I just wish she would put a shirt on. Walking around in hazardous environments with only a belt covering your bare breasts is absurd.

But as for her whining, I didn't find it to be to bad. Most of the characters in Mass Effect 2 has good reasons behind their complaints. Only one of them really pissed me off with this, but that was in just one scene.

Rosh Penin from Jedi Knight 3. He's a fucking asshole to you all game, always whining and trying to undermine you and claim your accomplishments as his,
Turns evil, and when you finally get the choice to kill him everyone hates you if you do.
Seriously, what the fuck?

Jack in ME2.

No matter how many times I would tell myself that 'first impression sucks, I'm sure they'll develop her character better if I take the effort'

But nope. Just remained the dull, swearing constantly for no reason, "tough *****", uninspired character that I was afraid she was going to be.
I was kind of thinking she might pull out to be some kind of Ripley character...

She was the only weak link in the cast of that game though. The other characters were all very well done I thought. Especially Mordin, Thane and Legion.
