Ygdrassiel from Tale sof Symphonia/ Probably one of the worst villains in any game I have ever played.

I won't say I hated him, but I certainly liked Richter a helluva lot more.

It made me chuckle a little bit that I actually know who that is and exactly what you're talking about.

She's like that annoying one in Empire Records with the bald head and cuts on her arms.

I didn't find her to be to bad. She could be a lot worse (though I cringe whenever she calls herself a "dangerous *****"). I just wish she would put a shirt on. Walking around in hazardous environments with only a belt covering your bare breasts is absurd.

But as for her whining, I didn't find it to be to bad. Most of the characters in Mass Effect 2 has good reasons behind their complaints. Only one of them really pissed me off with this, but that was in just one scene.

God yes, the 'dangerous *****' line makes me want to curl up and shiver in the foetal position.

Thank goodness her loyalty mission unlocked a shirt.

There was also the fact that she suddenly flipped out at me for liking Miranda and being a big clit-tease to her... I was thinking 'wait a minute, girly... I never once flirted with you in any shape or form or gave you any intention I was even mildly interested!'

Zaaed's whining was probably worse though. I just felt sorry for him because he was such a miserable bastard.

The little girl from Star Ocean: The Last Hope, not only is she a ridiculous character she just kept saying the same thing over and over.. ugh. Needless to say I sold the game and never played a JRPG again.

This is one of the things I really hate about Mass Effect 2; everyone thinks you want to have sex with them. When did wanting to be friends with your co-workers suddenly mean sex? I haven't found a way to avoid the romance trap with Jack as male Shepard, so I have to stay away from her. Had the same problem with Tali. Didn't even suggest that I was attracted to her in any way, yet she still seems to have this creepy obsession with Shepard.

Zaeed and Garrus where whining about REVENGE!, which did bother me since I hate revenge so much. But at least they had a reasons behind their complaints. Garrus's whole squad was killed becuase of Sidonis, while Video turned his men against him, shot him in the head, and took over his organization. And I let him escape like a saturday morning cartoon villain. I can understand being upset by that.

The one that pissed me off was Tali during her loyalty mission when you talk about the home world. Not because she was complaining, but because she complains no matter what you say to her. She shoots down any suggestion you make. It felt like complaining for the sake of complaining. Pretty much the only thing she didn't have a problem with in that conversation was the idea of killing more Geth.

Both Khalid and Jaheira from Baldur's Gate. A mediocre fighter with painfully annoying voice clips, and a mediocre druid with painfully smarmy dialogue. Combine that with Imoen's uselessness and I'm forced to play solo until I get to Minsc: the greatest NPC ever.

Julia, Anna, Nina, Eddy and Christie from the Tekken series.

Julia - WHY is she still around? Nobody plays as her, and she's just an mediocre character in every way, and is far too "pure" to wear eyecandyish outfits.
Anna, Nina - I know, they've been around FOREVER, but I never understood what relevance they ever had to the games, aside from Nina's skimpy outfits ;D
Christie and Eddy - For obvious reasons. Whoever thought "Hey, let's give Tekken an Eddy clone!" needs a shot to the face.

Eddy is a very muchly minus Tiger, from Tekken 3, because of the epic ending movie.

As for Garrus, it was ok in the end because he realised revenge wasn't his path (well, for Paragon Shepard at least), but poor old misery guts Zaeed kept on moaning about it after the mission as he pretty much had nothing else in his life but killing that one person.

I should've just kept walking at the Omega entrance...

Ashley Williams from Evi...Er I mean Mass Effect, she is nothing but a shallow racist character who can't let go of the past and who's only real motivation to save the galaxy was to redeem her family name even though it seemed nobody gave a toss about what her grandfather did anyway. followed closely by Fucking Tidus!!!

I always found it odd that she seemed to forget about that right after Freedom's Progress if you hand him over to Cerberus. You'd think she would be a bit more pissed off at me for making him go completley fucking insane. Though I have to give credit to Veetor's voice actor. One of the more convincing crazy performances I've heard, at least when compared to some of the other ones I've experienced (Tales of Symphonia has some really bad voice acting in this regard).

Hmm.. terrible is such a subjective term. Gordon Freeman and Crono are terrible characters because they aren't really characters at all, they're just cardboard cutouts that other characters talk at (or in the case of Freeman, a floating camera that other characters talk at). I'm not sure that's what this topic is talking about though.

As for characters that just bothered me that rubbed me the wrong way from start to finish I'll have to go with Ashley from ME1. Fugly, xenophobic, religious and on the manly side of things... and she keeps coming onto me. Ack.
