I loved that too, I was actually wondering if that was part of the performance. Or perhaps this band has mastered weatherAvsJoe said:I love the thunderstorm warning on the video. Great coincidence!
The coils actually play notes, its just that it looks like they've been dubbed over with typical electric sounds. Really annoying.ShadowKatt said:This really isn't all that great. I've watched a lot of videos of people that did things with tesla coils and I will (someday) get myself a good set of plasma speakers. I'm not even sure the coils actually did anything except arc, I couldn't hear it over the guitars.
They might have been 'wow'ed, but then again, we must remember, the judges, the audience, they're idiots. Just like American Idol. Just like that dancing show. Just like everyone on television.
Why do we waste our time on these people?
Could this have been a technical issue? I don't know exactly how Tesla coils work, but perhaps they needed a few seconds to build up their charge. Besides, a long setup is worth it if the payoff is something unique and stunning, and Arc Attack qualifies.Lvl 64 Klutz said:When I watched this on Wednesday, I was surprised Sharon didn't just tell the truth and state the obvious: That their setup was way too long. I kept thinking "This'll probably be interesting, but right now they're ruining it for themselves."

I have to agree with this. However, its still a damn sight better then anything else you see on these shows.Lvl 64 Klutz said:When I watched this on Wednesday, I was surprised Sharon didn't just tell the truth and state the obvious: That their setup was way too long. Right? I thought this was some news coverage of the whole thing and that was the anchorman talking.Jonluw said:That lightnig conductor guy had an amazing voice. I thought it was a voice over at first.
They do make music with it normally, I think they had the band thing for the show effect.Nazrel said:I've seen people make music with tesla coils, and not just use them for special effects
