Thanks for the hints for 2-1, I wouldn't have got it otherwise. As for 2-4, lucky I was looking through my astronomy work, wouldn't have got it otherwise.

As for 2-2 and 2-3
2-2 I keep saying both the clue and the ...other bit fast, 5 time. And nuthin'
2-3 Yeah, I'm just no good that these things, even with all the hints.
2-2 AUGH another face-palm worthy answer lol. Try saying the whole thing fast 5 times. Think of a source of heat too...
Oohhhhhh! *face palm*
I just got it and it seems so obvious.
Thank you so very much!

Finally finished day 2. I probably couldn't have done it if I hadn't been reading these forums. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Alright, Day 2 #4 is officially my favourite of these little puzzles (since my vast scientific trivia gets to make a showing, topped off by the fact that the answer is finally a game that I've actually played).

Day 2 #1 actually made me groan, once I realized that my memory of Peanuts was shoddy (kept thinking it was Linus for some reason).

#3, though, completely baffles me, probably mostly because I don't understand what the instructions mean: each word's letters are kept in order, but those sets of letters have been meshed together (like "abcd efgh" could become "aebfcdgh")? or are letters shuffled? or what? It's a little unclear.

Famous guy. She's not his lover. She's just a girl who thinks he's the one
Mars. Mythology. What is its purpose?

Thank you guys, I was stumped for a while.

Wow, I finally got #3. I don't know if thats playing fair, escapist. That clue probably qualifies as a red herring and I wasn't really thinking of that as a game even though I know it has been mentioned in the news here a couple times.

I only figured it out because I figured out what the last word was, assumed the second to last word(though I figured it would be the first word) and was looking at game titles with those two words in them.

Well played, escapist. Well played.
How is it not a game? We even reviewed it.

OH NOES THAT'S ANOTHER HINT!

Well, funny thing is there's technically another answer to that:
God of Agriculture
which actually sounds like a reasonable name for a civ-like game. :p

My protest of its game status is mostly because I think of other media before I think of the game, in the same sense if Spiderman: The Movie Game(imagined title) was one of the answers as opposed to things like Team Fortress or Grand Theft Auto where games are the first thing that comes to mind so the title is more readily available.

It was a well done puzzle, even if you are being tricksy with the clue, I just happen to be lousy at the jumbled letter/word puzzles and the fact that I never would have thought up that game title without searching for words that I managed to unscramble didn't help. Though I do realize that the primary goal is to be as unhelpful as possible as the week continues on.

Edit, never mind, I'm a fucking idiot. Say the PUZZLE part over and over. It's practically poetry.
Ok, why couldn't people have said that? I was saying "A lout of van swerves." repeatedly? >.>

Be clearer pl0x!

Thank you! Got all of today's.

I hated number 4. I hope it's not that bad tomorrow... *shudders*

Well, I got all of day 2 done now. And there's a clue for 2-3 on page 14 of this thread which totally gives it away. It hasn't been deleted, so it's clearly not enough to draw moderator attention, but if you're absolutely stuck on 2-3 like I was, page 14 is where you want to go.

Onward and Upward!

#4 - my eyes have gone all cross eyed now, I'll be seeing dots and dashes all night >_<

Tomorrow can we have more wordy puzzles and less eye breaky ones please? I'm a delicate flower don't'cha know.

Oh and #2, my accent didn't help with the hint, I go heavy when I say my W's.

I had the same problem with Linus.

For 3, yes, you are correct. So "civilization test of time" could be "tociftvileiiszattiomne"

Also, does anyone know if capitalization matters?

Wooooooooow..... #1 kicked my ass so hard and now I feel like an idiot because it's so simple.
the cat is owned by a scientist named Erwin in Austria
If that hint is too specific lemme know and I'll remove it

as for the others, I thank the hints on here especially for #4, no way in hell I would've figured that out otherwise

Jesus Christ, you guys come up with some UNHOLY puzzles.

That said, I think I'm getting the hang of these multi-step puzzles. I mean, puzzle 2-4 was a nice touch. Thanks to this thread for helping me get through these two days...

So, 3 more puzzles tomorrow, another 2 Thursday, and one final super-puzzle on Friday.... This is gonna be one hell of a week...
