Is it just me, or do a lot of people get a little OVERLY edgy when you grab "their" weapon in a video game. I was playing Gears 2 the other day and low and behold, someone on our team ran right toward sniper. Not a big deal since we didn't know who was a good sniper, but a guy on our team thought otherwise. All the guy could do is ***** about how that sniper should have been his and how the noob shouldn't have grabbed it.

Although, I will admit that there are certain occasions where you don't want a teammate grabbing a certain weapon. If a teammate continuously grabs a sniper rifle and hasn't killed a person with the sniper, then I would rather someone else be using it.

Have you ever met a person who was overly sensitive about people grabbing "his/her" weapon?
Have you ever wanted to just smack the person upside the head when they continue to cause Epic Fail with a weapon?

I can get really annoyed when someone else tries to use the Energy Sword in Halo 2/3 because given my choice of player model I think by right it is more fitting for it to belong in my hands. The holy weapon of the Sangheili gets desecrated by the hands of a human, letting it fall into their hands is practically heresy.

I find it more annoying when people won't let me use the weapon because 'it's shit'
Mostly when it's a weapon they can't use well.

I generally find that in random matchmaking groups, mostly halo. But if you go as a team i generally find we settle in our roles: sniper, demolitions, stealty guy and complete noob who like to dive mongooses (me). Also it leads to nice trading. "Hey cheatking ill give you this mongoose for your lazer!". Unfortunatly it also leads to easy kills while we fiddle with weapons :S In a game like gears 2 though i wouldnt really designate a weapons as "their weapon" as the rounds go by waaaay to fast to do any real damage with them...except the shield which is mine :p

I find most people who ***** about this tend to have developed a reliance on such weapons and typically aren't that good with any of the other ones.

I'm more in the camp that so long as SOMEONE from my team has it that keeps it out of the enemy's hands.

I use shotguns and weapons with a full-auto capability. I never get yelled at for that! :D

I say let the monkeys argue about who gets the sniper rifle, I'll just go out and get every kill on our team...

Ah yes, I was going to mention Battlefield too.

"That's My weapon" behaviour was/is very present in Natural-Selection, where the Frontiersmen commander uses the team resources and gives out better weapons. The weapon appears on the ground and is available for anyone to grab. Personally I don't mind if I don't get a better weapon, but it's really frustrating to see someone take a weapon and run to their deaths. The resources he just wasted by losing the weapon was the TEAMS resources.

Yes, I remember back in the days when I still played the Battlefield games. Everyone's a jerk about the planes and helicopters in those games.

Oh and I love it when you have a sniper and the "1337 sniper" just stares at you while your getting killed, then nabes the rifles before it has the chance to touch the floor. It still has my dismembered hand on it!

I always get in a rage when I see people using my guns on World At War. Now this is on the Wii so I can't swear directly at people. Plus its a 4 vs 4 match. But I do know they are using MY guns for possibly three reasons.

1) the person is a flipping retard who can't save his damn ammo even if he has bandolier.
2) he thinks he'll be better than me if he picks up my own gun. (If he picks up my DP then he's in a world of hurt)
3) He's a damn failure of Rambo!!!

It is always over the sniper or a machine gun.

Man the complaining I have heard, over a game!

And I often use the least used weapon in games, and people get pissed at me.
Like I just charge out with nothing but a pistol, and actually kick some ass.
Or the grease gun in DoD.

People were mad possessive of the Spartan Laser. I remember trying to line up a shot on the enemy warthog fully loaded with dudes for a easy triple kill while this dipshit kept gun butting me eventually killing me. That was the beginning of the end of my Halo playing days.

if they team kill me to get 'their' weapon back i just go to town on the entire team. Its not your weapon, its for whoever gets there first. You kill me for it, i make the team lose its that simple. This has one of two outcomes, they learn and start playing the game without bitching or more commonly, i get kicked and the whole thing starts over again

Well it's definitely like that with planes and helicopters in the Battlefield games. Put on friendly fire and everyone Team kills to get them.

I really enjoy when that escalates into people driving jeeps onto the runway. Or waiting with C4 next to the spawn. I stop doing anything productive and just watch the jet jocky dipshits beat the crap out of eachother. (This dosen't happen almost at all in 2142.)
OT/ It always seems to be the siper rifle that sets ppl off. Or the rocketlauncher.

Never really had people ***** at me for taking their gun except maybe on Halo when they got snotty if I took the sword or laser before them so they had to wait.

When I played Battlefield 2 a lot on the pc I used to hate the team kill fest at the beginning of a round for helecopters, jets and tanks. It was pretty irritating, especially when it was a 2 seater and they would take off without a gunner then inevitably die 20 seconds later.

Team fortress 2 kinda has it too when some servers have class number restrictions and you get someone whining "I wanna play (class) one of you noobs change class so I can be it!" over and over until someone quits to shut them up or they leave.

I've often grabbed the "worst" weapon in the game, and yet, people get pissed at me.
It's one of those moments in gaming that make you say, "WTF"

The "bad" weapon I grab on Gears 2 is the gorgon pistol, and I get lots of kills with it, muahahaha.

Then pick up a game like modern warfare or battlefield bad company (both of which are really cheap) won't get team killed for weapons in those games.
