OK, so Freud became a believer in biorhythms because the numerical representation of man and the numerical representation of woman have the property that you can take a multiple of each and obtain any integer as a sum of those two multiples.

What he didn't know is that you can do this with any relatively prime numbers, Freud was INNUMERATE, remember that word, it is a growing problem in the world, if you haven't heard of this, go read the book "Innumerate" and the book "200% of Nothing"

Finding connections between numbers by using random mathematical functions means nothing, if you were to use the same one, like if you add up the digits of an important day they will always add up to 23, it might carry more weight

You can manipulate numbers to say just about anything, and more often than not, they mean NOTHING

A bunch of random facts with the number 23 won't convince anyone of anything.

Where's the 23 there?
Numbers say what you want them to say
There's probably some way it does equal 23
There's also probably some way it equals 42, so what? It means absolutely nothing. Especially if everything can be brought to a number like that. It doesn't mean like you could predict anything at all.

And the binary system doesn't even have a one or a two, what will you do with that?

Wait a second! 23 in binary is 10111. 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4. And 4 * 2 = 2[sup]3[/sup]! The heavens be praised!

Applying a pattern to events that have already happened is amateur hour stuff. As soon as you can tell me how i can use 23 to find me a extremely hot yet nerdy wife, how stupid my kids will be, and the winning lotto numbers then I will worship in the cult of 23

The number one is far more common.

Take any number, now divide it by itself.

We're through the looking glass here people.
What about the number 0?
What about the number 0?
You can't devide by zero [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Division_by_zero]. Not even 0 / 0.

Type the flight number into wingdings, its two towers and a plane with a skull and cross bones.
To bad it's not [a href=http://www.hoax-slayer.com/wingdings-911.html] not actually the flight number[/a]

Well considering on any given day a lot of stuff happens, you'd need to some how show/prove that at least half of it evolves the no.23 and not through so elongated calculation before I take notice. And even then I'd not change anything. I wouldn't suddenly go on a flight because its flight 23

2 divide by 3 = .666
The most important thing is 2/3 is .666 recurring for an infinite amount of figures so more like .6666666666666666666 (repeat for all time and then some) , and the number of the beast is 616 anyway.

Apophenia, selection bias, and confirmation bias. It's all in your head.

You see something that can somehow equal 23 and you say, "Oh em gee! Look! It equals 23, see!?!?" And when something doesn't relate to 23 you just ignore it or come up with 23(ZOMG it's true!) convoluted steps to make it related. I would take the time to show you 23 (SEE!?!?) examples of everyday things that in some way equal 12 but I think it's quicker to redirect you to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/23_Enigma

1000 divide by 13 = 76.9230
What the hell does that have to do with 23? Other than there is a two and a three in it and why is 1000 so special?

p.s sorry the bold doesn't show up so well!

42 divided by itself is 1. 1 times 23 IS 23!
HOLY FUCKING SHIT GUUUUUYZ!!!14

[/epic sarcasm]

Honest to god this topic and its corresponding belief is 23 different kinds of retarded.
You could say the same about any number <100. The lower the number, the more it will pop up.
Sifting through a history book and specifically picking events that have 23 involved somewhere is not proof of anything.

In the movie about the number 23 there was no reality to it, the guy was just nuts. It could make for a creepy thing if done in a proper light.

That said I'm not a big believer in numerology, though apparently a lot of people do believe in it. 23 is not the only number with signifigance though when you get into the meat and potatoes of it. A lot can also be ascribed to numbers like 40 recurring (ie god created the world in 40 days and 40 nights, it builds from there).

I would like to point out.. If you do enough math, anything will make sense. This is probably 'cause you're crazy and looking for a consistency where there is none.

You're just like that person who decided he wished to break math by doing by doing a convoluted series of steps..

This. Your list isn't consistent enough to convinces me of anything. Put together some more focused occurrences of 23 and maybe you'll convince me of something.
