Optomitrists ARE doctors.
Optometrists not 'optomitrists', surely.
You can achieve a PhD. In fields that require far less intelligence, work and actual science. These days. Hell you can even get a PhD in things that BARELY pass as science at all. All of which becomes easier; year by year. As they reduce course workloads, passmark, entry requirements and exam standards.
If you want to draw the line, for a cut off point. As to where the title of doctor is applied, merited and used in reference. We should start with T.V. physiologists (Not to be confused with psychiatrists. Who are in position of a medical degree)..... and 'Social scientists'.
Not referring to your dentists or optometrist as doctor is, somewhat, disrespectful. They have studied for years in fields such as.... molecular biology, virology, pathology, medical physics etc etc etc. Dishing the title out to some moron that has spent four years. Studying the developmental impacts of reality T.V. on the average household dog. Then placing the title 'Dr. Fiona Belmont : Animal physiologists', proudly, on the bottom left of the show. Every damn time they appear, on screen, to spew out nonsense; intended to masticate the minds of fools.
I, like Chibz, wish to stand up to those. That would look down on medical practitioners that don't happen to be the worlds leading experts in neuroscience or cardiothoracic fields.
Sorry. For hijacking the thread.
