Man, it sucks I didn't make the First Cut. What also sucks is that only 1 cartoon made the First Cut. It also sucks that my entry "Internet Warz" basically is at the same spot my last year entry, "Monster Masters" was.

Oh well, I still have the chance of winning the Animation Prize. I hope Creature Catcher Masters the Best of luck though, I would love to see more of Tun-Tun (And I'd buy a plushie of him).

Any word on the first cut thing? Only the videos on the first page? Is that intended because I thought they were shuffled?

Right, I've got a cup of coffee and essentially no life, I'm going to sit down and watch them all right now!

Starting at the back and working my way forwards so theoretically should end with the best.

Congrats to anyone with first cut ... bitter, bitter congratulations.

I can't tell if anyone's even seen my vid. I really wish there was some way to keep track of views or votes!
Anyway, I know it's early but like I said I'm going to start filming something after this, Escapist or not, so any feedback on my vid would be appreciated! (second page, "The Pitch")

Okay, I've almost made it through them all but it's now 3 in the morning in jolly old England so the rest will have to wait for tomorrow.

I've watched in reverse order and got up to page one so basically I only haven't watched the ones marked first cut, so if yours was on the later pages then now you know that at least one person has watched it. Generally really good, don't think what page you're on has much to do with how good you are as I really liked "Nerd Wars" and "Speaking in the First Person" which are on page 4 and found most of my least favourites on page 2. Also page 2 has the "Demon's Souls Commentary" which is 10 minutes long so that confused and annoyed me a little. My point is that the good and the bad are scattered around so I hope everyone at least tries to watch everything (I'm on page 3, "Reset to Zero" - just thought I'd slip that in there).

Only two that I didn't watch all the way to the end, "We Find This Funny" because the Dr Doom trying to talk to The Thing just went on forever and I wasn't clear why I wasn't supposed to be bored to death by it and "The Assault Horizon" because it was just two jets flying around, which was very pretty to look at but the point of it being here was lost on me, if indeed there was one.

Commented on a couple of threads but will come back fresh in the morning.

Yeah, I think you're right on target. I think Jetman Jam stands a strong chance as well! My other 2 videos were not about air planes one was about the old Frogger game and one was just a compilation of some really old nuclear explosions set to music with some reverse voice sounds depicting Satans version of "Game Over" Spinwhiz sent an email and gave me the chance to reload them last night, but the point is mute! We had a lot better competition than I had anticipated this year! I loved your video and many of the others that didn't make first cut! One of them (not yours) had a chance to make the first cut, but didn't due to a dog barking in their back yard and a fly buzzing around their computer and an airplane flying over their house while they were recording! You did a great job though and I really did enjoy watching!

Well they didn't really introduce the videos by their description (which is why we sent in the 300x300 .gif I thought) but Assault Horizon was a "pump you up" video for those of us that are waiting on the new "Ace Combat's Assault Horizon" game that should be out in the next few months. The original version was in HD and used the song "Black Betty" by Ram Jam, but in too much second guessing on the copyright issue I changed it to more cartooned video, and caused me to redo the music to a royalty free 3 song mix. I couldn't have them shoot up Miami as in the new game, so basically they can only fly around, but I did try to bring you the best of low passes, and a sonic boom. For those of us that enjoy fighter plane type games you should really get a kick out of it!

It means you are in the top running! You did a great job, and I hope you and Jetman Jam tie and they offer you both a contract!

There are many great entries this year. Glad my entry Arcadia's Fight is among them.

Next to my own, of course, Creature Catcher Masters is one of my favs.

Yeah, I hope they give out more contracts this year. There are a lot of these I could see going on to be very successful.
