Best:
- Cowboy Bebop the Movie: Knockin' On Heaven's Door. Great story, great music, stunning visuals, and the best voice cast of any anime pre-2005? Oh yes.
- Bruce Almighty. Jim Carrey. Morgan Freeman.
- Boondock Saints. No explanation needed.
- Hairspray. John Travolta in a fat suit dancing with Christopher Walken. <3
- Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz. Pure genius.

Worst:
- Super Mario Bros. No. Just no.
- Dragonball: Evolution. This movie puked all over one of my childhood loves. Then forced it to clean up on its knees.
- Meet The Spartans. 89 minutes of my life that I will NEVER get back.
- Bewitched. Will Ferrell is a HORRIBLE actor. No question.
- Evan Almighty. See above, but substitute 'Steve Carell'

Arrrrrgh!! Open fucking Water! I let my date pick a movie to go see. She picked that one. Then another time that same one picked The Village. I wanted to murder things that never existed after seeing my life wasted in such a manner.

The next time, another date picked The Mummy 3. Note to self; pick the damn movie myself.

Best:

Aliens (Screw CGI, the Alien Queen is still fucking vital and menacing and horrifying).
Moulin Rouge (Funny and tragic, I laughed and cried and left with a longing for love).
Se7en (Dark and intense. Gripping and horrifying).
Lord of the Rings Trilogy (you need them all, uncut versions).
Spirited Away (To my mind Studio Ghibli's finest masterpiece, just edging Howl's Moving castle).

Worst:

King Kong 2005 (Shitty over priced waste of talent and utterly, utterly pointless).
Alien V Predator Requiem (Why? Just why? Two great franchises pissed all over).
Indiana Jones/Crystal Skull (Mr Ford you are too old. Mr LeBeouf you can't act).
2001 A Space Odyssey (Slow as molasses, exercise in ego masturbation).
Battlefield Earth (I swear I lost some IQ points sitting through that shit).

BEST:

1. Flags of our Fathers/ Letters from Iwo Jima
2. Monty Python: Holy Grail
3. Karate Kid 2
4. V for Vendetta
5. Slumdog Millionaire

WORST:

1. Burn After Reading
2. Napoleon Dynamite
3. all the Pirates of the Carribean movies (except the first one)
4. 1984
5. High School Musical (or any musical for that matter, but this one especially)

The Best
The Italian Job (remake)
The Bourne series (specifically the first)
Pirates of the Caribbean series (specifically the first)
Man on Fire
Underworld series (specifically the first)
Interview with a Vampire

The Worst
Resident Evil (A plot would have been nice...)
Epic Movie (One of the few movies even my cousin could not watch and he will watch anything)
Spiderman 3 (If Mary Jane would burn in a fire this movie would be epic)
The vast majority of horror movies. (I become an exceptional cruel person when watching them; longing to witness the entire cast brutally murdered for their own stupidity)
Karate Kids: High Mountain (The one with Hulk Hogan. My lord was that awful)

Cannot think of any others.

In no particular order
Best:
-Princess Mononoke (my all-time favorite movie. I could fill this list with just Ghibli movies, but I won't.)
-Star Trek IV (It's got Kirk, Spock, a planet-killing probe and humpback whales. What more do you want?)
-Finding Forrester
-Fight Club
-It's a Wonderful Life (classic goodness, and who wouldn't like to see firsthand the impact they make on others?)

Worst:
-Get Rich or Die Tryin' (I need someone to invent a psychic enema so I can purge my memory of this movie.)
-Rollerball (the old one. Aside from having the slowest, dullest "ultra-violent" sport ever, all the characters mumbled and I couldn't understand them.)
-Star Wars Episode 2 (No, I don't want to talk about it.)
-The Matrix Reloaded (The first I liked, the last I could stand; it's this middle one I really hate.)
-Gigi (Not Gigli, if only because I haven't actually seen Gigli

Also, any Sci-Fi channel original movie.

I dunno why no one has said it yet, perhaps because it might be an Australian-only release: I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer.

Seriously, it is a cricket-themed horror movie. If you're Australian, I heartily recommend wasting several dollars and 2 hours of your time to watch the single worst movie in creation.

The credits are so short that literally hunting down anyone involved in the creation of this abomination is quite possible. In other news, the writer, director and lead have all recently disappeared...

Do so at your own peril. I'm serious. This is a BAD movie.

5 Best and why:

1. Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The all-around best movie series I know of. It seemed to have everything I could want in a fantasy movie. Huge set-piece battle scenes, scary and legitimate villains, moral absolutism, religious allegory, and well-portrayed characters.

2. Signs. The best interweaving of minor details into huge plot elements I've ever seen. Once you strip away the alien sub-plot, it's about the loss and reclamation of faith. The ways in which God works throughout the movie are awesome.

3. Monty Python and the Holy Grail. If you are on the internet, this one should require no explanation.

4. Gladiator. Well directed, full of contemporary political insight, has one of the best action stars ever.

5. Amazing Grace. Simple: the story of how one man's faith and drive ended the British slave trade. We could use more William Wilberforces today.

4 Worst and why (I cannot think of a fifth one worthy of this list that I've actually seen):

1. Platoon. One of the most appalling misrepresentations of the American soldier in all cinema. William Defoe and the musical score were great, but they can't make up for the sheer disrespect of it all.

2. Ferngully. Pantheistic and environmentalistic indoctrination wrapped up in a deceptively cute children's movie.

3. Land Before Time series. I loved it as a kid. Looking back, each one is just 2 hours of screaming with a poorly written story about reptilian companionship.

4. If seeing it through Mystery Science Theater 300 counts, then "Manos: the Hands of Fate" is up here too. If you've seen it, you know what I mean. If you haven't seen it, don't.

Best:
1. Jurassic Park (I like Dinosaurs)
2. V for Vendetta
3. District 9
4. Iron Man
5. Zombieland

Worst
1. Alien V Predator Requiem
2. Alien 3000 (I refuse to acknowledge that this is even a movie, so it probably shouldn't count)
3. Borat
4. Bruno
5. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within

These aren't ordered 'best ot worst' or anything, just the order that I thought of them

Best:
Star Wars episode IV-VI
Spirited Away
The Dark knight

Worst:
Reine och Mimmi i fjällen (Swedish; awful)
Italian for beginners
Ghost Rider
Catwoman (Catwoman in name only)

And, worst of the lot:

Captain America. In no way did this movie resemble the comic book hero.
