I stated the conspiracy started in England. Anyways, I pieced together a Hideo Kojima inspired historical fiction about the apple conspiracy based on the fact that pears don't get the respect they deserve. It's hard to find pear juice, pear pies, pear sauce (which I've never seen, I've actually had pear flavored apple sauce I kid you not), etc. And, I really do feel pears are just better apples. I, for some reason, think pears are more popular in asian countries (due to the asian pear?)than say American. Also, if you have noticed, several juice drinks like Sobe, Mystic, etc. use pear juice in several of their drinks.mad825 said:So this is just an American "thing" again? nowhere else in the world are apples popular? apples aren't very popular in pop culture?
just looking at the statistics on wikipeda shows me that the U.S produces nothing when compared to Europe besides apples trees can be easily grown in any standard bog that experiences glum weather.
Haha, I actually have had a pear pie before and it was delicious.s0m3th1ng said:Pears>Apples.
Even canned pears>Apples.
This post exempt if apples combine with pie.
it's all about supply and demand, very few people in general do not go for food that are beneficial for health but rather go for food that they like and also has a nostalgic effect, I personally wouldn't mind trying pear pies, sauce or juice however I'm not willing to go great lengths to find it.Phoenixmgs said:It's hard to find pear juice, pear pies, pear sauce (which I've never seen, I've actually had pear flavored apple sauce I kid you not), etc.
health-wise? there is very little difference between apples and pears (not to mention genetically as well) regardless the general health advice would be to have a balanced mixture anyway instead more of one over the otherI really do feel pears are just better apples.
Asia has their own native sub-specie of pears and would undoubtedly to be quite common as places like China and Japan are very famous for carrying on food/diet tradition (although they are getting fatter through western food ^.^)I, for some reason, think pears are more popular in asian countries (due to the asian pear?)than say American.
I have never noticed any pear drinks here in England or at least those brands. Also, if you have noticed, several juice drinks like Sobe, Mystic, etc. use pear juice in several of their drinks.
Nah, not health-wise. I just think pears are better apples in pure taste, Pears IMO have more flavor and are juicier. Pears and apples probably have about the same health benefits, I'm sure one is probably a bit healthier than the other.mad825 said:health-wise? there is very little difference between apples and pears (not to mention genetically as well) regardless the general health advice would be to have a balanced mixture anyway instead more of one over the otherI really do feel pears are just better apples.
I'm not talking about pear drinks, several fruit drinks that aren't pear flavored have pear juice in them. It's always a bit surprising to read the contents of food products.mad825 said:I have never noticed any pear drinks here in England or at least those brands. Also, if you have noticed, several juice drinks like Sobe, Mystic, etc. use pear juice in several of their drinks.
