That Diva was an influence I must admit, but this one has haemoglobic blood instead of blue. Next up I'm going to be adding some of the darker shadows, such as under the breast to give it more weight. Hopefully that helps. Painting the backdrop is going to be the biggest irritation.
It always is. That's the why I've been reluctant to work on my piece (featured above), of late.

Hehehe. I'm not helped by the fact that I've never done a landscape before. Or, in this case, an urban-scape. I'm thinking of sticking her in a drain of sorts. It'll probably turn out like a speed painting. Oh well. Can't forget the wonderful Ctrl+Z

Stage 10: More shadows. Upped the contrast a little. I'm going to start on the backdrop from now on... probably. 10 hours so far.

Alright before I start on my compliments, the boob is better, but not totally fixed.
First off the speckles feel improved. The contrast idea was a good one, it make the piece much more dynamic. The detail on the hand: fucking incredible. Those small, subtle lines look amazing even if the actual webs aren't as good. The issues of not feeling the weight of the drawing I feel are pretty much fixed.

This is a stellar drawing. The issues you have are very minor and easily balanced by the fact that most of it is kick ass.

The funny thing is I was doing the hand because I'm good at them and felt comfortable with it. Meant I could still do something while not touching the harder bits. Thankyou, by the way.

Sorry for the double post but another two hours of work is worth adding in my opinion.

Stage 11. Fucking hell the lighting effects were a pain in the backside. That's about a dozen layers condensed.

I just got a new macbook, complete with scanner. :D So I can scan in (let less hassle) my art! So to kick off this grand occation, I'm scanning in a doodle. I did a similar doodle a page or two back. 3 minutes or so. This one took me.. 7 to 10 minutes give or take.

I did this a little while ago, and got it scanned while I was scanning something else in. A holy crusader of sorts. 2 minutes, bic pen.

Yeah, lighting can be annoying. I actually love doing it when its turning out well.
You may want to tint some of the highlights a slightly more yellow colour, that's the only critique I have to offer at the moment.

Hello my fellow escapists I'm in need of an artist! (well I came to the right place I'm assuming since this is THE Artist thread apparently).
I'm looking for someone to collaborate with on a mini series of comics (like 32 page monsters, not webcomics although it doesn't have to be released in one giant lump) and need an artist for my crazy endeavor. Posted below will be the great big gist of the story (and main characters):

Wireman was once a normal human, that is until he was captured by an industry that specialized in government weapon projects. He awoke in a glass tube and began to freak out. When he did, green organic wires of some unstable new metal tore through his flesh covering him from head to toe and replacing his eyes with liquid metal. He escaped the company by jumping out of a window and landing in a reservoir several hundred feet below. From there Wireman drifted onto the shores of an island that had been used as a junk heap. It was here that he began to experiment with his powers and decided he should live out his childhood dream of being a super hero.
The first villain Wireman fought was an alien by the name of B-22. B-22 was a scout for a gelatinous race of aliens known as the Condra. They went from star system to star system liquefying the inhabitants for nutrients. Wireman and B-22 battled high above the San Francisco skyline but right when it looked like Wireman would win, B-22 called down a nutrient beam from it's ship and grew to massive proportions. Wireman was blasted by the newly gigantic B-22, his body torn to shreds and was flung into the sea. Again Wireman arrived on the shores of the junk yard where he had made his vow to protect the innocent. As B-22 continued on it's mission, Wireman began to absorb the nearby metal. He too began to grow in size. He went back to the mainland and began pounding on B-22. Again B-22 was on the brink of defeat so it summoned it's ship to retrieve it. Wireman wasn't going to let it get away that easily so he began to assimilate the ship. With the ship absorbed, Wireman used the ship's lasers and blasted B-22 to a few molecules. With the battle over, Wireman returned to the junk yard and removed the extra metal he had absorbed. He began to build a base on that island that was only accessible by him and would serve as his home as well.
Blackwire: Blackwire is to Wireman as Venom is to Spiderman. Blackwire was the follow up experiment after Wireman escaped. However it was the company president that underwent the procedure in order to recapture "the one who got away". After the attempted Condra invasion, the company recovered pieces of B-22's ship and fused the alien metal with the unstable metals to give Blackwire near god-like invincibility. Blackwire then oversaw the production of corrosive liquid metalloids which Wireman named affectionately, "Mercuries", after the way they swell up and explode after being exposed to heat. Blackwire's ultimate goal is to capture Wireman and assimilate him to become even more powerful.
X:X is a mercenary for hire that has the ability to mimic anything. He can do this by psionically creating a shell of whatever he wants to mimic and taking control of it. The shell is a complete clone of whatever he mimicked so he has all his target's strengths and weaknesses. His primary weapons are his "Morphballs", small metal balls on his wrist that he can remove and convert them into any weapon he desires. Because of his mercenary status X and Wireman often meet on opposite ends of the battle since sometimes the person Wireman is trying to protect, is the same person X was hired to kill. However they did team up to face the Dark Gigan, and they have squared off with Blackwire.
Gap:Gap is a mutant with the ability to create "gaps" in space, time, and dimensions. Gap has to have seen the area in order for him to be able to create a gap. If Gap doesn't created an exit for any of his gaps, the first hole he opened up becomes a pocket dimension in which he can store things or trap enemies. Gap helps Wireman get to faraway destinations should that be required.
Gigan(Human):Gigan is a human who somehow tapped into the Dark Gigan's powers and has been trying to summon him ever since. With the dark god's powers he has infinite amounts of power and can alter reality as he pleases. Gigan and Wireman first met when Gigan kidnapped Gap and was attempting to awaken the 4 Gigas.
Gigas (Earth/Fire/Water/Wind): The Gigas are 4 elemental gods who slumber in a different dimension. Gigan captured Gap in order to open this dimension and awaken them. When one of them comes to our dimension they wreck havoc for a short amount of time. The Gigas are responsible for every major natural disaster, from hurricane Katrina to the eruption at Pompeii. When all four are revived they fuse to form the Omni-Gigas. This entity tears open the fabric of reality and calls forth one of the Gigan twins.
Dark Gigan/Gigan of Light: When God created our universe something went wrong and the big bang tore him apart. His conscience was divided into twin beings. The Dark Gigan was all of God's wrath personified while the Gigan of Light was God's hope, love, and virtue. Each twin had all the omniscience of the creator. The bang also threw them in a pocket dimension outside of reality where they would fight eternally to a standstill. Only the Omni-Gigas can open this dimension although it is debatable that Gap can as well, having seen it. Every time the dimension is opened the Gigan that emerges is completely up to chance. Unfortunately for Wireman, the first time the hole was made Dark Gigan emerged. He was only defeated when Gap opened the dimension and Wireman helped the Gigan of Light retrieve his brother.
Wireman is made of indestructible adamantium. He can bond with any other metal to either repair himself or to take on the properties of that which he absorbs. This is seen when he absorbs B-22's ship and dons the ship's lasers. The only metal that he is unable to absorb is that of the Mercuries, as they are corrosive to him. Since Blackwire shares this ability with him, it is his goal to absorb Wireman to make himself complete. Wireman can upgrade a machine by absorbing it and manifesting it as a part of himself. He once absorbed a super computer in order to augment his intelligence and a generator to produce electricity on command. He has absorbed other things, such as a jet engine in order to temporarily gain the ability of flight and a tank to reinforce his defenses. In both cases the assimilations made his body too bulky to he did not keep them.

I have none. Really I just want to see this made. I really never thought of charging for it or anything. But I guess we'd both own the finished product (your artwork, my writing).

I had to ask. My time is to valueable to me right now to give it up pro-bono. College, work, homework, very very little free time. If I, as an artist, were to team up with you, I'd need to be paid for my work. :) I'd suggest teaming up with someone you know personally, and can share your dream together. A stranger is generally going to want something (like me).

Best of luck to you. :)

Perfectly understandable, I'm kind of in the same situation as you. Thanks anyway and I'll continue my search to find someone to bring this idea to fruition.

I'm doing a "100-Theme challenge on DeviantART, where you use one particular theme to make a picture for 100 different subjects. The theme I chose is "Vee & Me", using Shari (myself) and Vee (ViolentlyHappy91) for every subject. The three I have so far are as follows:

(Since I didn't make it obvious enough in the picture, Shari's sleeping in a pair of cymbals.)
97 more to go...

EDIT: Fixed the grammatical error. Thanks, Penguin.

Um.. I think there is a spelling/grammar mistake on this one. Should it not be, "You know how you couldnt find your shoes this morning."? Maybe Im just reading it wrong.

EDIT: Horray, my post count equals the year.

...Yeah, you're right, that's all wrong. Thanks for pointing it out, I'll fix it immediately.
