Wireman was once a normal human, that is until he was captured by an industry that specialized in government weapon projects. He awoke in a glass tube and began to freak out. When he did, green organic wires of some unstable new metal tore through his flesh covering him from head to toe and replacing his eyes with liquid metal. He escaped the company by jumping out of a window and landing in a reservoir several hundred feet below. From there Wireman drifted onto the shores of an island that had been used as a junk heap. It was here that he began to experiment with his powers and decided he should live out his childhood dream of being a super hero.
The first villain Wireman fought was an alien by the name of B-22. B-22 was a scout for a gelatinous race of aliens known as the Condra. They went from star system to star system liquefying the inhabitants for nutrients. Wireman and B-22 battled high above the San Francisco skyline but right when it looked like Wireman would win, B-22 called down a nutrient beam from it's ship and grew to massive proportions. Wireman was blasted by the newly gigantic B-22, his body torn to shreds and was flung into the sea. Again Wireman arrived on the shores of the junk yard where he had made his vow to protect the innocent. As B-22 continued on it's mission, Wireman began to absorb the nearby metal. He too began to grow in size. He went back to the mainland and began pounding on B-22. Again B-22 was on the brink of defeat so it summoned it's ship to retrieve it. Wireman wasn't going to let it get away that easily so he began to assimilate the ship. With the ship absorbed, Wireman used the ship's lasers and blasted B-22 to a few molecules. With the battle over, Wireman returned to the junk yard and removed the extra metal he had absorbed. He began to build a base on that island that was only accessible by him and would serve as his home as well.
Blackwire: Blackwire is to Wireman as Venom is to Spiderman. Blackwire was the follow up experiment after Wireman escaped. However it was the company president that underwent the procedure in order to recapture "the one who got away". After the attempted Condra invasion, the company recovered pieces of B-22's ship and fused the alien metal with the unstable metals to give Blackwire near god-like invincibility. Blackwire then oversaw the production of corrosive liquid metalloids which Wireman named affectionately, "Mercuries", after the way they swell up and explode after being exposed to heat. Blackwire's ultimate goal is to capture Wireman and assimilate him to become even more powerful.
X:X is a mercenary for hire that has the ability to mimic anything. He can do this by psionically creating a shell of whatever he wants to mimic and taking control of it. The shell is a complete clone of whatever he mimicked so he has all his target's strengths and weaknesses. His primary weapons are his "Morphballs", small metal balls on his wrist that he can remove and convert them into any weapon he desires. Because of his mercenary status X and Wireman often meet on opposite ends of the battle since sometimes the person Wireman is trying to protect, is the same person X was hired to kill. However they did team up to face the Dark Gigan, and they have squared off with Blackwire.
Gap:Gap is a mutant with the ability to create "gaps" in space, time, and dimensions. Gap has to have seen the area in order for him to be able to create a gap. If Gap doesn't created an exit for any of his gaps, the first hole he opened up becomes a pocket dimension in which he can store things or trap enemies. Gap helps Wireman get to faraway destinations should that be required.
Gigan(Human):Gigan is a human who somehow tapped into the Dark Gigan's powers and has been trying to summon him ever since. With the dark god's powers he has infinite amounts of power and can alter reality as he pleases. Gigan and Wireman first met when Gigan kidnapped Gap and was attempting to awaken the 4 Gigas.
Gigas (Earth/Fire/Water/Wind): The Gigas are 4 elemental gods who slumber in a different dimension. Gigan captured Gap in order to open this dimension and awaken them. When one of them comes to our dimension they wreck havoc for a short amount of time. The Gigas are responsible for every major natural disaster, from hurricane Katrina to the eruption at Pompeii. When all four are revived they fuse to form the Omni-Gigas. This entity tears open the fabric of reality and calls forth one of the Gigan twins.
Dark Gigan/Gigan of Light: When God created our universe something went wrong and the big bang tore him apart. His conscience was divided into twin beings. The Dark Gigan was all of God's wrath personified while the Gigan of Light was God's hope, love, and virtue. Each twin had all the omniscience of the creator. The bang also threw them in a pocket dimension outside of reality where they would fight eternally to a standstill. Only the Omni-Gigas can open this dimension although it is debatable that Gap can as well, having seen it. Every time the dimension is opened the Gigan that emerges is completely up to chance. Unfortunately for Wireman, the first time the hole was made Dark Gigan emerged. He was only defeated when Gap opened the dimension and Wireman helped the Gigan of Light retrieve his brother.
Wireman is made of indestructible adamantium. He can bond with any other metal to either repair himself or to take on the properties of that which he absorbs. This is seen when he absorbs B-22's ship and dons the ship's lasers. The only metal that he is unable to absorb is that of the Mercuries, as they are corrosive to him. Since Blackwire shares this ability with him, it is his goal to absorb Wireman to make himself complete. Wireman can upgrade a machine by absorbing it and manifesting it as a part of himself. He once absorbed a super computer in order to augment his intelligence and a generator to produce electricity on command. He has absorbed other things, such as a jet engine in order to temporarily gain the ability of flight and a tank to reinforce his defenses. In both cases the assimilations made his body too bulky to he did not keep them.
