Hippos are my favourite too!
Hooray! I'm not the only one in the world!
Seriously though, those things can mess people up pretty bad.

Why DON'T we do a video on topic _____?

Well it's probably because it's hard to find recognition on YouTube. It's like playing the popularity lottery, and most people- me included- would rather not waste our time trying.
Agreed. Also, we may not have enough time, ideas, or talent, to sustain a whole series. And also, based on some of your latest episodes, you need the help.

Bob, by and large I really like your stuff. Also a Q&A/FAQ episode like this is acceptable, or even expected, once in a while. But some of your shows lately have left me wondering if the Underthinker hasn't overstayed his welcome.

Are ya stressed or overworked? We're here for ya, what can we do to help?

I have never seen Robo-Cop before, but I sat down and watched it yesterday while I was at home sick.

I thought it was quite good - although basically a modern version of Frankenstein. I also liked the social commentary on America.

the 6000 SUX now with 8.2 M.P.G! Classic.

Wow didn't even know Trolljegeren had spread abroad. Would love to see opinions on it. Though I understand the problem. Still waiting for some of the movies reviewed in Escape to The Movies to come here.

Another thing I think should be known for new comic readers: Know full well about what genre you want to read: super-hero, sci-fi, fantasty, etc. If you have a comic store near you, ask the person who works there about some recommended reading. And if there is no comic store, but you have a Barnes and Noble or Books-A-Million, go online. Tons of forums with comics threads will more than likely have a "recommend comics" topic.

Your idea for seeing if you want to get into super hero comics is pretty much exactly how it happened for me.

After seeing the Wolverine movie, a bunch of people I know were bemoaning the treatment of Deadpool in that movie. I knew nothing about Deadpool at that point, and I happened to see a couple of trades of Cable & Deadpool in one of my local comic shops and decided to pick them up to see what the fuss was about.

Well, I loved them, and ended up ordering in the rest of the series, but once I got toward the later volumes it started to reference other comics, such as an issue ending with "Continued in X-Men Supernovas". I initially turned to wikipedia, but I ended up buying Supernovas, which hooked me right into X-Men comics, which lead to me buying a heap more trades and jumping on board with collecting single issues.

Aaaaaand yeah... I now get more than a dozen titles, Marvel, DC and independent on a monthly basis. I'm hooked.

Speaking of trades does anyone have any recommendations for getting into Black Panther?

Honestly the "just pick something" approach to comics seems to be a bad suggestion. I've tried to get into the main continuity this way a couple times and everything has either been incomprehensible or so mediocre/terribly written that I had no interest in finishing the trade let alone following up. You don't have any suggested authors, events, or trades that would be a good starting point?

Bob, I took your advice and started my own nerdy blog. Now, all I need are readers. So, a little help from the escapist community? I know that I shouldn't really be advertising on your forums but considering you did kinda inspire me I think its appropriate.

I thought of an idea for a SMB movie once. It was basically a Metroid Prime thing, with Mario as Samus, Koopas as Space Pirates, and Pirahna Plants as Phazon, but like a surreal fantasy. I also thought of an idea for a Zelda movie. It was basically a Highlander thing, with Link as Connor and Ganondorf as Kurgan, but like a surreal fantasy. This is how all my ideas sound.
