I already have a Wii, which by the way hasn't been used for a year now. Why would I want another, merely because it is a different colour, and especially if the price is higher than a normal Wii, with the only draw-in being that it is black instead of white? Granted people without a Wii could get one but at that price they could get something far better.
Thus, "it doesn't appeal to you" statement I made.

You might've noticed that the shoe/jumper market and the console market are completely different to one another. The same rules cannot apply to them. Do I get entertainment out of my shoes? Last time I checked, no. My shoes are also in constant use, and need regular replacement. A Wii is played by the average person for an hour or so.
Selling more shoes and greater variations is practical. Selling a console because it looks different is a rip-off.
Yes one belongs in the entertainment industry and one belongs in the clothing industry. Well done on bringing it out of context. I wasn't talking about actual functuality, I was talking about design. Maybe I should have used cars. Why is each model available in different colours if they all perform the same? Is that easier?
Additionally I didn't say, "sell one pair of shoes/jumper to a person his entire life", I said you "only need one type".
Irrespective of whether they are used and worn out, different colours and so forth aren't required. They still perform the same. By all means you can be pedantic now and state that "soap shoes let you grind down rails" and "running shoes make it easier to run", so in anticipation of that: One running shoe, one soap shoe, ad infinitum.

So perhaps I should be telling you to be more open-minded. "Ooh, new colour!" It's like painting the Millennium Dome black, re-opening it, and increasing the admission fee. It might be cool and black now, but inside it's still as it always was. And I think that's useless.
Because we store the dome in our house don't we? It's part of our daily routine isn't it?
You slate me for bringing things that are supposedly unlinked into it, yet you "conclude" with something completely removed from the scenario.
I think you've missed the point of mind state. I have acknowledged that there will be an appeal (i.e. recognising that there is a view outside of my own) to this colour change, and if you noticed I didn't say "It's black, therefore I shall buy". It is a tick in the pro column, yet many ticks have been placed in the cons column since the Wii's inception.
If you state "to me it doesn't appeal", then fair enough, an opinion has been stated. Stating it's "useless" full stop as a result of that opinion is close minded.
