Biggest improvement over the series for me? Now you just automatically pick up money when you run over it instead of having to manually pick it up.

The last known new recruit to the bandits is the Goliath. Goliaths are unique in that they carry around two guns at all times, similar to the Gunzerker, and wear heavy armor. Once their armor is knocked off, the Goliath will go into a rage, regain all of his health, and melee rush his foes. Badass Goliaths are gigantic and carry miniguns. Rare Loot Goliaths carry a refrigerator-sized treasure chest on their backs, but try to run away from battle. Kill them fast enough to score an enormous stockpile of weapons.
REALLY AWESOME feature with the Goliaths - You shoot off their helmet and they turn into a rage like you said. However, they will kill anyone they want, and actually level up after they kill their own.

There is a trophy for waiting until he ranks up to his highest level then killing him

Yay, first spoiler tag!

But S and S made the best guns. Where am I going to get my Cruxy goodness? Or my ridiculously high ammo capacity machinegun with an SMG's fire rate? I'm CANCELLING MY PREORDER AND COMPLAINING TO RANDY PITCHFORD

Any link to the announcement of the "ammo pool"
I'm with this guy.

Anyone who's played the original knows how fast one person can burn through ammo, so this would be hell if a party of four were all using, say, smgs. That's just an incredibly stupid decision.

Did you have "The Chopper" from the original? For anyone who didn't, it could spawn with huge mags, and with class mods, could store 1120 in one mag like mine. Time taken to empty this? According to the wiki?

12.5 Seconds...

All the ammo...gone

Wait, where was it stated that ammo is shared with other players?

Bandit guns are the same as S&S Munitions.

Then you should probably think about making a well rounded team as opposed to 'Let's all go Siren with SMGs' or 'Quad Gunzerker with Shotguns'.

I agree, being free to pick your fave character and guns while still being a team player is asinine at best. We should go back to the days when everybody HAD to pick one character and you couldn't have two of the same, that's how every group works..right?

This also is against the random nature of the game..what happens if 3 really awesome smgs all drop near each other? Trash them? Give them all to one guy? Hope an assault rifle drops sometime in the distant future while the guy kills everything?

If you find a really awesome SMG, but you aren't Maya, then you probably won't get that much use out of it. Besides, Pitchford said that the skill trees were balanced to be used in conjunction with each other. Having four Zer0's with Bore equipped would be pretty pointless, for example.

So yeah. It goes beyond the guns, you really need a well rounded team regardless.

Have you looked at the skill trees? There's almost no flat "x damage with y gun" ones, if you hadn't noticed.
This isn't an RPG where if you don't spec for it you get zero use out of it. In the original borderlands, I played Brick and specced rocket launchers. Me and my friend still ended up using a certain kind of smg because it was just flat out better, and I had enough traits in general damage and rate of fire and regen that it was VERY effective. The original borderlands was much worse for that (going by what they've said and looking at their skill trees) and what you said is still not true for that.

Wait wait wait wait wait...hold the phone...you're saying that in coop everyone shares a pool of ammo? THAT'S TERRIBLE!

It's not going to put me off playing the game or anything, but still, that's absolutely terrible.
Actually, unless you have troll teammates, that's very beneficial. Ammo regen mods for one gun affect everyone carrying that weapon type. As the OP already pointed out, the Gunzerker can regenerate everyone's ammo. Just think, after a fight, the Gunzerker uses his ability twice with two different weapon types each time and bam, you whole party has full ammo again.

The only thing I worry about is if everyone decides to use the same type of gun. You would burn through ammo very quickly then. However, this usually isn't the case as a diversified party is better than just a whole bunch of snipers. If anything, it puts more strategy into party composition.

I don't see how this is a bad thing unless there's something I haven't thought of.

Well in borderlands one the ammo that drops on the ground is relative to the weapons you have equipped, like if you just run four sniper rifles on single player only sniper rifle ammo drops, obviously more players with more weapon types randomize this a bit, but in the end the ammo that drops on the ground is a mathematic average of what everyone has equipped.

This post contains no spoilers, and it might make you laugh if you bother to real all of it.

Dunno if its still up but yesterday a guy posted like 19 vids of the beginning of BLT. They were pretty sweet, if you could stand to watch them.

Not because of the copious levels of spoilers and awesomeness, but because the person playing, despite obvious signs to the contrary, seemed to be completely retarded.

I don't mean that to sound insulting, or even figuratively. They played like they honestly like someone gave a 4 year old, half blind, completely illiterate person the controls. As I assume that they must be fully grown to have acquired the game and set up a youtube account, in english, and playing a game in english I gotta figure they were bravely triumphing over some reduced mental faculties.

What led me to this conviction you may ask? They would for long stretches of time be running around completely out of ammo. They only used pistols, never bothered to buy more ammo, toss grenades, or USE THEIR FUCKING TURRET preferring to crap themselves and run around like they were on fire (typically they also were on fire) melee attacking everything and dying repeatedly rather than purchase any ammo or use something that took all those other ammo types they were hoarding.

When they leveled up they would go for what I believe to be hours without assigning the skill point, despite clearly knowing what they are due to them being able to use the turret they HAD to have assigned previously. Occasionally they would have a burst of inspiration and deploy said turret, and actually reclaim it when they could. Usually after 4 failed attempts to melee snipers while out of ammo.

When they were presented with a set of stairs, and a "puzzle" involving finding an alternate route for a companion, they literally stood there with their mind blown for about 16 minutes looking around and shooting various pieces of the scenery before they (several videos later) discovered that there were in fact STAIRS they needed to walk up.

Other times when they needed to get to a higher level, they would walk past a LADDER about 3 times before finally finding a way to jump onto the roof. Another time they literally were staring at the upper level and looking everywhere only to accidentally walk backwards up the fucking stairs they studiously avoided spoiling for themselves.

When presented with a new objective they would immediately in mid briefing run over and sell their loot thus never getting to hear what they were supposed to do.

When the mission was to use a fire weapon on X, and stated in text and verbally, and a fire weapon was given to them, they chose to blast it with the same shotgun over and over and over. After being told for the 8th time that they were doing it wrong by the NPC they finally caught on. When they killed something to get an item back, they went to the npc asking for it, then stood in complete astonishment when nothing happened. Eventually they muscled together that crazy savant mind of theirs and proceeded to go pick up said item and bring it back. It being 3 feet behind them for the last 4 minutes.

Seriously I don't think I even spoiled myself by watching them, as the whole section they played probably encompassed about 20 minutes of time for someone that wasn't playing it on a fucking potato with oven mits over their hands.

If true I think that the whole "ammo pool" idea is just stupid, you chew through just way too much ammo way too quickly. If that's true I'll be disappointed, I have 4 friends to play with and we've all called dibs on the characters that we want to main (everyone wanted someone else and not the same person luckily) But there's going to be times where me (Axton) and my buddy (Gunzerker) are going to be using Assault Rifles at the same time and that's going to be ridiculous if we share an ammo pool.

Also I hope to god that this time around I wont have to wait for an entire fucking DLC just to get some decent Assault Rifles, Seriously Gearbox WTF was with the hate on the assault rifles in Borderlands 1? I was the weakest of my party because I couldn't use my main weapon and didn't feel like sprinting around with my shotgun because it felt stupid

I am suprised to see the ammount of people with ammo issues in the first game.

I havent run out of ammo in that game, EVER. You really have to try... I dont even know how. Unless you where at the VERY beggining in the game (and used Lilith, because she is apparently the character that runs out of ammo faster), MAYBE, otherwise... no idea.

I agree.
Once you get past the first bit of the game, ammo is almost never a problem.

Anyway, if it is true, I have no qualms with it. It's only encouraging a diverse party.

The vids aren't there anymore sadly, they WERE the top result if you simply typed in Borderlands 2 and filtered by upload date. I tried searching for them but they are gone. The guy's channel logo was like a green butterfly or something.

There are now like 30 other people with tons of vids up in the last few hours. I get to wait for my Free Super Saver Shipping because I'm too cheap for one day, and didn't get in on whatever release date shipping window Amazon had.

So I'll get it probably a week from Monday Q_Q

One thing I think will be an almost certainty is that we will be hearing the following catchphrase over our collective headsets for years to come.

PROTECT ME SQUIRE!
