"If you have something to say, say it Alec. If you can actually find fault in my reasoning for killing the old man tell me now, so we can just get it over with. Tell me though, what would you have done with that man? A man who has put our entire mission and our very lives in jeopardy. That is not even mentioning any hostages that may be in the prison, because I know for sure that any guards who turn traitor will know that the king will send someone after them. If a turned guard saw us or heard us in that house and reported it, what would they do? Answer that question, what would they do? What if he rambled to an already spooked guard that was expecting a group to come and kill him for his treachery, would that guard report it, would the guards start killing people in the prison, would they set traps or double guard rounds in an attempt to kill us, and most importantly would they kill any innocents in the prison? How many should we risk for the life of one old man? How many innocent lives is fair trade for a liar and possibly a traitor? If you can answer all my questions and still find fault with what I did, I will allow myself to die by your hand. The penalty for murder is death, we all know it, so you might as well be the one to do it."
Jack took off his helmet and looked at Alec.
"If you still want what you call justice, then I suggest you kill me now, because if you report me all that will come about it is a reprimand at best, and a commendation at worst."
