I don't like the 360 controller. The different level analog stick have also felt odd to me, as do the size. I have smaller hands though, so that's probably part of it, but it felt too big, especially with the battery pack.

No it doesn't. Nintendo never stated that the Wii remote was a 1:1 motion device. It was never claimed as one, except by wishful dreamers of the media. All they said was "Hey, if you move the controller, it does stuff!" That's precisely what it did.

The Wii?

Some of the old ones were bad, and the Original XBox controllers were a bit big, but really the Wii is the worst purly because it lies about what it does.
Agreed, but I feel anyone who expected otherwise deserves the disappointment.

From the ones I have used (SNES onwards excluding the odd console) I would have to say original xbox. The sticks on the N64 ones got wasted so quickly, even though I got used to its awkward shape. PS3's ones are also at the top of most hated, mainly because of the shoulder 'button's or triggers or whatever they are, the position of the sticks, and its light weight.

My favourites would be 360 and Gamecube (how can you not love the gamecube controller some people in this thread?!...)
Oh and mouse and keyboard.

The original xbox controller only worked if you were a gorilla and had hands massive enough to hold the thing.

Hmm... out of all the consoles I owned I'd say the Sega Master System. The damn thing didn't even have a start (pause) button on it. You had to press pause on the console!! XD

Edit: Also what was so bad about the original Xbox controller? OK maybe the original design was a bit bulky, but the S version felt really nice to me. Also gave a nice feel of power. XD

Also I add the Wii Remote simply because it is under utilized. The only game that uses its full potential in my eyes (aka opinion/to my knowledge) is Metroid Prime 3.

That would be me. My hands were just big enough to use the XBox controller. I still enjoy the heft of the wireless 360 controllers.

Yeah, and I'm sure that all those commercials showing people playing Wii Sports didn't suggest 1-to-1 motion to people who hadn't seen motion controls before. Considering how aggressively the Wii was marketed to non-gamers, I wouldn't be surprised if lots of people think to this day that the Wii is supposed to have 1-to-1 motion tracking.

The PS1 controller. That thing would fly out of my sweaty hands so much... Other than that it was dependable as hell. It was just too damn slick...
I think that's more your fault than the controller's, I've never heard of that happening before.

OT: I vote the keliko vision controller, wtf was that thing?

EDIT: holy crap! My 200th post!

Ahhh, fanboy alert. If they are going to release motion control then it better bloody work, thats like saying that Xbox never acctually promised better graphics, they didn't but it is a given, it should be there.
It does work. Quite well, actually. I shake the controller, and a response happens on screen. I use motion to control the game. Motion control. Yes, it would have been nice to have 1:1 at the start, but that would have driven the price of the console to astronomical hieghts.

Hey, to be honest, I never disliked any of the Nintendo controllers I've used. Yes, that includes SNES, N64, Gamecube, and Wii.

I didn't have many N64 games that were a pain due to the controller style, it worked for the ones I had, and my dad still plays Sarge's Heroes sometimes. I haven't met any issues with it.

Gamecube just fit perfectly for my young hands I suppose. It felt natural, and the buttons access was intuitive and simple. As for the Wii, the 1 & 2 buttons can be a pain, being on the bottom, but again, not enough games that apply their function so forcefully.

What's my least favorite? Out of the ones I have used... a tie between the PlayStation's (all of them) and the original Xbox controller. The Duke.

Let's see. We've got the Colecovision, Intellivision, Atari 5600, Atari Jaguar, Phillips CDi and the N64.

All pretty lousy.
OH Gezz. I had to pull out a Jaguar controller just in case it was not as bad as I remember. It is. I also for some reason never remember exactly how big it was until I pick it up.

You flick your wrist and something unrelated happens on screen, its not even close to motion control, and is therefore not a good controller. If it was expensive and 1:1 then it would be fine.
To be honest, you're being picky. They've sorta' been working on it, Wii MotionPlus. It hasn't been done quite enough for them to affordably use the technology, or at least, I wouldn't imagine.

So since pushing a button hardly relates tothe action it pertains to, that means that Button control does not exist, and that any controller ever concieved fails? I'm not sure I follow your logic.

And I'm not talking like the $20 it costs to get a Wii Motion+ now. I mean a triple digit increase in price.

I hate the 64 controller, mostly because mine is broken or something. Makes playing games hard when you're trying to run away from a horse-sized, flesh eating spider and you suddenly start walking. Gah.

EDIT: I have one, when you try to use it, it spins. SPINS. Whee...

Agreed, the first time I used one, I couldn't figure out how to hold it.
