Apparently there's news concerning the Duke. At the 3DRealms forums, a member of the staff, George Broussard, said this:

"Two facts: We haven't said anything. This forum is still open."

which clearly is supposed to tell us that they haven't given up on the game yet.

So what do you all think?

I personally am happy to see this, not because Duke Nukem interests me in the least, but because it's just sort of fun to follow this farce about a game that will never be finished or see a release.

Sorry if this has been posted before, search bar search said it hadn't been.

I stopped caring about Duke years ago. Now the only reason I bring him up is to make fun of him and the entire team that is supposedly making a new game that features him. I don't think it'll ever get released.

I have honestly never played a Duke Nukem game. I remember when I was a kid, and my best friend told me about Duke Nukem Forever on a bus ride when they first announced it. I'm 22 years old now. I swear, if this game ever comes out, I have to buy at least one copy. The wait is making it a legend in my eyes. I don't care how bad it is, I'll buy it.

Same here, never played a Duke Nukem game, but I'd get it just to see what comes out of far more than a decade of development.

Actually I was just playing Serious Sam recently and in the opening cutscene you can see "The Duke lives!" graffiti'd onto a wall.

I'd believe them if I wasn't so certain that they spent all of their budget while repeating their protagonists' memorable line:

"Shake it baby! Wanna dance?"

Pick up Duke Nukem 3D on the website. It's like £6 and gives much more enjoyment than most FPS games today. Also, you can download the High Res mod for it, making it ACTUAL 3D, and various other mods. Yes, this game is STILL GETTING MODS 16 YEARS LATER! And these mods are like full campaigns, some of which with good voice acting.

Calumon: Jack doesn't let me play Duke, and actually tells me to play Kirby on the Wii whenever he does play it so... THE GAME!

If it doesn't come out on three disks in full HD3D then it will have been a wasted development.
Forgive me but I must say this.

If it doesn't do that, then are you going to plant - A bomb!, in their offices?

Ohoho, my knowledge of memery is absolute.

I was actually considering looking for that one. I watched someone do a playthrough of Duke Nukem 3d, Duke Caribbean (or whatever the name of that add-on was), and Duke it out in D.C., and it got me interested enough to want to play it soon. I usually don't like FPS games at all, but I'll do it for Duke. I had no idea people were still making mods though. lol

Duke Nukem Forever is the Chinese Democracy of video games with the exception that Chinese Democracy was actually released.

see, at this point, i am no longer looking forward to this game. In fact I think most sane people would have the same opinion. However, i do think it would be nice if the game was eventually released, even if it isn't great.

Im not getting my hopes up. But its still good news none the less.

Although chances of the Duke's return are high compared to the chances of Peter Molyneux ever telling the full and utter truth.

(I hate Peter Molyneux, I will take every step possible to take the piss out of him)

I think that the name of the game is just "Duke Nukem". "Forever" was it's release date, and if we convert the word forever into numerals, we get this:

6/15/18518

well. we now have a definite release date. June 15, Eighteen-thousand five hundred and eighteen.

As your thread title says "The Duke Lives...." I do so hope. C'mon baby come back to mama. So many new game and film quotes you can butcher.

Hopefully, if the game gets made, it would lower itself to this "realistic" bullshit. It's time to put fun back into games, and Duke Nukem is the franchise that could do it.

I don't think duke Nukem was any good, in fact quite the opposite.
Not meaning to troll or flame or whatever but take off the rose tinted glasses.

Luckily I am immune to all the may-or-may-not-be bullshit surrounding this franchise because I never played a Duke Nukem game. Why does everyone treat the Duke like a computer code equivalent to crack anyway? Couldn't have been that good.

By this point, George Broussard is about as reliable a source on video game announcements as Conservapedia, or perhaps a screaming hobo on a street corner.
