You know... no matter how good this game is, it will not live up to the hype. It could be completely flawless, yet everyone will still tear it apart. But I'm also hoping they actually are still working on it and it's not dead. But we are all a part of history here. If this game actually comes out, we will tell the story of it for generations to come and it will become a legend. If not, we're all wasting our time.

I'm betting on the latter, even though I've been told to bet on Duke.

Good lord the Nameless One died more easily than this game. Just stay dead already.

Well its good and bad. Good that the game might still come out, bad that my hopes might be crushed.

Duke has been dead to me for a VERY long time, only the actual, physical release of a game will change that.
I'd bet a large quantity of my own money that this will never happen.

Wait, you're commenting something that a 3D Realms' former member has to say?

and you expect us to take it seriously?

Don't get your hopes up. Because if it isn't like Yahtzee said it was then it's a colossal failure.

If it doesn't come out on three disks in full HD3D then it will have been a wasted development.
Forgive me but I must say this.

If it doesn't do that, then are you going to plant - A bomb!, in their offices?

Ohoho, my knowledge of memery is absolute.
A BOMB?!?

I salute you, good sir.

Go to hell 3Drealms. No one cares about it. They have to understand that unless the game is literally flawless, they are done for.

I have honestly never played a Duke Nukem game. I remember when I was a kid, and my best friend told me about Duke Nukem Forever on a bus ride when they first announced it. I'm 22 years old now. I swear, if this game ever comes out, I have to buy at least one copy. The wait is making it a legend in my eyes. I don't care how bad it is, I'll buy it.
Pick up Duke Nukem 3D on the website. It's like £6 and gives much more enjoyment than most FPS games today. Also, you can download the High Res mod for it, making it ACTUAL 3D, and various other mods. Yes, this game is STILL GETTING MODS 16 YEARS LATER! And these mods are like full campaigns, some of which with good voice acting.

Calumon: Jack doesn't let me play Duke, and actually tells me to play Kirby on the Wii whenever he does play it so... THE GAME!
The game finished in January, so... HA!

OT: As much as I would love to see a new duke, I don't think it will happen.

That Duke I could care less about. The Thin White Duke, however...
And that's the original TWD, not the rip-off.

Honestly, they get more attention now not completing it than they would for completing it.

I can see it in a commercial for some other game from them.

"From the team that didn't bring you Duke Nukem Forever..."

I still mildly care for these series. I've yet to play the arcade originals. *hugs Xbox Live

Like you can rely on 3D Realms to do anything.

Don't get me wrong, 3D Realms loves the idea of emerging from the smoking crater hole, holding aloft the fabled Duke Nuken Forever, rubbing it in all the naysayers faces.

Two facts: They wont. If they do, the game wont be special anyway.

Duke Nukem came out in 1996 when I was eight years old and even to an eight year old it came across as big, immature and dumb - and nothing against that, those were all good points for the game... but it was nothing special. It was a rough, tough messy alien shooter and it was damn good at it. But come on, that stuff doesn't seriously impress people any more does it? It's still fun sure but a new Duke Nukem would hardly revolutionise gaming if it kept to the same formular - and my guess is that it would.

But it's all a moot point because it wont exist. If 3D Realms couldn't pull together a samey shooter, (or even a REVOLUTIONARY shooter,) in the fourteen plus years it's taken so far then why would it bother now? If I knew somone who was being paid to work on something for 14 years and couldn't produce it I wouldn't just give them another chance. 14 years people. That's a fairly big chunk of fucking time.

I don't know about any more facts but here are two truths: Stop deluding yourselves. Get rid of the notion that Duke Nukem Forever was ever worth caring about.

Seconded. Maybe it will turn out to be like Yahtzee imagined it.
