Speaking of stealing from M&B, give us mounted combat. It's been shown that it's do-able, and very well so.
Id' be more happy if it had "Shadow of th Colossus" like horseriding/archery that was an immensly fun time.

so with my new awakened interest in The elder scrolls i decided to open this topic,

It should be the same thing as TES4 but with more factions, also is your "new awakened interest" the reason your called sheogoraththemad? :D
I played oblivion and morrowind before and I always liked sheogorath's quests.
you could not believe how happy I was when they announced the land where the expansion pack would take place, I enjoyed every conversation with Sheogorath just to quote some:"Cheese for everyone, no scratch that no cheese" or "ta da come visit again, OR I SCRATCH YOUR EYES OUT"

much, much, much more dark brotherhood sanctuary's and quests!!! :D
Definitely. It's the only guild I completed fully, and I have done it in all three times I've started a new game. That's all I ever do in Oblivion. It's just too fun. Except that bastard breaking into jail mission. Ugh.

I would like the monster scaling to be removed, or at least make it so that I still encounter bears and stuff in the wild. I don't want the world randomly overpopulated by Minotaurs and weird shit.

I guarantee that it'll have guns just like fable 2. Your opinion on wether or not thats a good thing.
Why do you guarantee that? Fable did that on its second game. The elder scrolls has had 4 games, none of which have guns. They have their universe set up already, I highly doubt they'll change it.
Its 2010 dude things are changing, im not saying its for the better im saying game developers are "adding" things and going with the mainstream flow.

Until they put procedurally generated dark brotherhood quests in, the newer TES games will remain incomplete.
I agree entirely and although the stealth in Oblivion is ok it just doesn't seem great and I think it's the weakest of the three combat paths I'd like to see it re-done but other than that don't change anything.

Also keep the AI conversations the way they were hearing guards talk about how frightening mud crabs are was always funny

You never seem to amaze me, -_-

Anyways, What he said but without fixing the combat.
Also i would like it set in Valenwood, And to have a climbing mechanic, and when you jump you can chose which awesome spin kick flip thingy you want to do which would improve the hand to hand.

xD.

That wouldn't work(unless it is an RTS), as there is too much land and lore to cover.

If you had asked me earlier I may have said "just make it like Morrowind," but then I realized that the thing that made Morrowind great was not the text NPC interactions that encouraged you to learn lore and allowed for major blocks of text to be conveyed, not the lack of universal fast travel encouraging exploration, but rather the outlandishness of the game. It felt exactly like a fantasy game should: foreign and mystical, as opposed to the familiarity and blandness of Oblivion. The thing that reinforced my opinion was how much I realized that I enjoyed the Shivering Isles compared to anything else in Oblivion.
My feelings exactly. Morrowind has a sense of grand wonder about it. I could wonder around in my backyard and basically see everything Oblivion's environment had to offer. Minus the hairy ape-trolls.

I feel TES needs an artistic overhaul. A style of its own to make it pop out and be instantly identifiable. Better visual representations of your character's skills and abilities would be a welcome improvement as well. Is your character a massive, great sword-swinging behemoth? Represent that with a heavy gait and powerful-looking sword swings. Someone who deals in magic (perhaps the more magic-pure, scholarly characters) might have very prim, perfect posture and grandiose gestures for even more simple actions why those who delve in the darker sides of magic may seem more conniving and tricky. This could even be further modified by including a character's personality traits or just the tried and true birth signs (which would dictate more than just some arbitrary stat bonuses or abilities). Skills like Agility could even allow much more in depth platforming elements with running, jumping, climbing ah la Assassin's Creed,

A lot of this would necessitate TES moving from first-person to third-person as the combat standard, although having a first person "exploration mode" would immediately fix any complaints the hard core fans of the series (like myself) might have. In exploration mode you would view the world from the first person perspective with a small reticle in the center. This would allow ease in detail work like searching nooks and crannies of dungeons for hidden loot, picking up/dropping items, stealing things, etc. If at any time you wanted to enter "action mode", with a simple click of the Left Stick the camera jumps to the 3rd person perspective (much like there is now except DESIGNED for 3rd person combat, not the other way around). Aiming could adopt an over the shoulder view, perhaps implement a lock-on mechanic, the reticle starting out very wide and general and becomes more precise allowing dead-on head shots and what have you as you level. Or perhaps leveling allows you the ability to lock on to various body parts, thus adding a contextual hit detection system.

These are just a few of the ideas I have swirling about my head.

PS: plus cooler looking armor and weapons. And WAY more options where those are concerned. I mean COME ON. Blade skill covering everything from daggers to to two handed claymores? Really?

Sometimes i just wish they would remake morrowind with the improved combat from oblivion and release that.

I spent a few years playing Morrowind before Oblivion. When I finally played Oblivion, I discovered the combat was LEAGUES better than Morrowind's combat system.

thats true. very true. since at the end of oblivion nothing is holding the empire together anymore. provinces will leave, wage war, and it will be a fantasy arms race. a fantasy WWII waiting to happen.
I like the sound of that,I have something to look forward to in the elder scrolls series now.
I thought it was all just robust mini quest completing game being lead around by your mute character. Hopefully guns will fire it up a little bit!

A better Speechcraft system. Do I have to remind you of the failure Persuasion turned out to be?

That and un-mute the protagonist. Change conversations to something like Mass Effect 2, where you hit a button to decide what your character says next.

I'd like it if most of the exploring took place above ground. Think about it. most of bethesda games have wide open worlds but you spend a good chunk of time searching caves and undergound ruins, and submerged dungeons, i'd like to see more the above ground to be more than a long trek from one dungeon to another. you already know how to make the enviroment look awsome...now give us some things to do in it besides run from low level animals and look for caves.

I want more of the same. Don't fix what isn't broken. Just give us back levitate please : )
Damn you and your Levitate! My poor Axe wielding, fireball spewing, creature destroying, god killing monstrosety of a Dunmer was foiled time and time again an elevator shaft.. Damn you Telvani bastards!!

OT: I honestly would just like to see the game. I honestly have no expectations out of it. Bethesda for some reason draws me in every time. Out of all their products I enjoy Morrowind the most followed by Fallout and probably last being Oblivion (all those are pretty high on my list of favorite games). What makes me love Bethsoft games so much is just the ability to roleplay in them. You can be whoever you want and do whatever you want.

Their are a few things I would like back from Morrowind such as having swords be broken up between short, medium, and long and bring back my axes and spears (axes are not blunt I dont care what anyone tells me). The only other thing that comes to mind is the ability to wear armor in pieces but more importantly LET ME WEAR A ROBE OVER IT ALL!!! Seriously I could wear the most UGLY sets of armors in the world but at least I could hide it under something! Plus my spiky Pauldrons were on the outside and that was just cool.

- Fix the combat by making it more interesting, adding in special sword attacks, ways of combining magic with weapons, that sort of thing.
- Make the game larger, with cities that are actually cities, and contain more than say 50 NPCs. Even if this means that a large percentage of the population are named "Imperial Commoner".
- Remove scaling of monsters. The big bad guy should be able to pummel you at level 10.
- A greater ability to interact with your environment.
- Add in some interesting and likeable NPCs, and sidequests.
- Hire more than 5 voice actors. Seriously, Johnny Yong Bosch played every single male elf in Oblivion.
These are all needed for the next game I would also like to be able to visit everywhere in their world, be able to own your own boat/business for some extra income. But i do like the conquer or free each continent of tamriel idea.

I think that explains my opinion, I hate the leveling because it can be easily exploited. The combat in all of them just never felt all that exciting, maybe some melee attacks and such to add some variety to the game. Left clicking/ pulling my right trigger gets boring quick. Make archery easier maybe it can be a pain.

Well, with it going to be RPG with Online Mode; and knowing Bethesda - we can probably expect to have all of the provinces available for travel (Like in The Elder Scrolls: Arena).

And I would really like to see some form of item crafting/enchanting - and a good well set up trading system.

Basically what he said on your choice of province of Tamriel. Here's a map to help you see the options.

Personally I think Valenwood and Elsweyr would be big enough and be fairly interesting, since its the land of Bosmer and Khajiit respectively.

I would like to see a Vampire/Werewolf system that isn't backwards. I think some harder puzzles and dungeons would be nice. Deeper quest lines and a reputation system would be pretty good. Large enemy cities would be cool too. Different endings depending on how you played.
