The Escapist Addiction

The fascination of Escapist is that it does not let you go. Once you have logged in you cannot just leave it. Are you do addicted to Escapist ? Do you think Escapist Addiction is isolating you from your REAL life, is it good or bad ? Will you be able to get rid of it later?

Didn't Labyrinth just go on a break to cure her addiction? I will say that I spend most of my time nowadays talking either on the Escapist or to people I met here, but seeing as how the folks here are far more intelligent than my friends in RL, I don't really mind.

On topic, I normally just log on when I'm near my computer, although I don't really pay attention to it.

Yes I'm very much addicted and I have no problem with that.

What with The Escapist being free and all, there is far less giving hand jobs to strangers on street corners than there is with crack.

Yep, I'm pretty addicted. I remember, over thanksgiving, I had to give up my room for my grandmother. While I did that willingly, I almost went insane from not being able to check the Escapist (my computer's in my room)

Yeah, I find myself sitting on the Escapist for long stretches of time, but I'm almost always doing something else at the same time, writing papers and the like.

This place can be pretty addictive, but a lot of what I do on Escapist is watch ZP, read the articles and post in the forums. I only really neglect my school work and that only lasts a couple of minutes while I write a forum post or finish reading a news article.

Yeah, maybe a little. I don't think it's so much an addiction for me as it is an OCD thing. I have to check the site often, if I don't, I get a bit twitchy, but I don't actually need to do anything. Just boot up the site, glance at it, move on.
