No, he didn't get banned for what he was doing--that's the point: just because someone hasn't gotten banned doesn't mean they're a good forum dweller. Like he said, he wants a badge for "toadies and teachers-pets," in other words, people who don't get banned but not because they're well-behaved, but because they're a bunch of suck-ups.
j-e-f-f-e-r-s might not be a troll, but he's the kind of person where if you disagree with him he just stops having a substantive discussion with you and then gets snarky and vindictive. Like he said, he's basically a toadie and a teacher's pet. I don't know why he thinks that's actually a *good* thing to be, or why he can't see the difference between that and someone who is actually well-behaved.
As for the significance of getting banned/probation, there really isn't any anymore. I was on here for 14 months before my first ban...by wilsoncrazybed...less than two weeks after I responded to a post of his with criticism.
So I guess in my case it wasn't so much an issue of arbitrary behavior as much as behavior lacking in integrity.
